Got order to go. Had the vodka penne with pork belly lardons. Food was delicious- creamy, rich, flavorful! Downside was getting it to go resulted in $8 fee which essentially cancelled out the $10 credit we had. Next time will be eating there since ambiance was also nice!

I have no idea why this place is rated so low, but rest assured this is an awesome place to eat. We had a fantastic meal: perfectly cooked scallops and grits, legit crab cake, soulful fried chicken meal and an outstanding risotto with salmon. Only critique is the need for better mocktails as those left a bit to be desired. Our server was attentive and kind and the ambiance was nice as well. I will be dreaming about this place and the risotto for the foreseeable future.

Came in around 8:51 last night. Had a reservation for 9:15. Was really looking forward to a "girl dinner" there. When I walked in, the host walked into the back. Another person came up asked if I had been helped. Didn't return before I left. Barely anybody was in there anyways. Like two tables at most. I guess God didn't think we aligned for me to take my business there. It would have been my first time, but I won't be returning. Ambiance was nothing memorable. It just looks nice enough. Fake fancy. Wannabe boujee. But mediocre at best like most places in this area. Just money hungry and classist in reality. Anyways, if you want to eat at a good place downtown--I only suggest Railroad Thai. Great service. Always busy because they're really good. If you catch them on a slow night, you're blessed. This place was empty on purpose yesterday night. No one wanted to be there. And now, me neither. Twins

Our waitress was truly considerate and kind. She helped us make a good decision on the items we ordered especially with the appetizer...I would definitely suggest the crab cake! The restaurant was clean, the food and ice tea were good and I would go back whenever I'm in the area.

Service good not many options to choose from I went in to try the short rib but they were out on a Saturday went with the salmon salad Chef was nice enough to accommodate my request to sauté the spinach so I could manage with my braces lol the flavor on the salmon was good but the salad was bland the fried chicken salad was bland and the shrimp was good but the salad was bland and some of the greens were wilted

My first visit at The House was pleasant. I Washoe immediately seated, and attended to. The service was pleasant and fun. The food was delicious. I ordered The House burger and fries which was delicious. The meat was so tasty on that burger . I also tried the Cherry Pie drink which was delicious. The ambience was very nice in which my friend and I will be returning sooner than later.

Unfortunately for me, I did not enjoy the food here. I was with a group and we all received the fried chicken, beans and mashed potato. I have no idea what they breaded it with - it was inedible. It was not fried chicken. So disappointing. I did order a glass of wine from them so that was fine -well, you open a bottle so that is easy to do. We also had breakfast in their restaurant in the morning which was fine - but the dinner really made me feel disappointed.

The food at The House is always delicious! I love the hotel, and The House is a delightful dining experience, not your typical hotel restaurant. The food is high quality, as is the service. I had the encrusted salmon, with Lima beans, and asparagus. I do not like Lima beans, but these are very good. My server was Fabiola, and she was very professional and attentive .

Located in the Renaissance hotel this place was nice. Our server was super friendly and had suggestions on the menu. Service was prompt and efficient. The items we tried were amazingly delicious.

We had a reservation for 7:30 pm. We weren't seated until 8:19. It's currently 9:11 pm, and we still haven't received our food. The drinks are top notch though. They were out of all appetizers, except for the crab cake, so we didn't get one. I'll be back to let you know how the food is. ** my return ** OK so we ordered the tomahawk pork chop and the filet mignon. The filet mignon was awesome. They hit that out of the park. However, the tomahawk pork chop, don't waste your money. That pork chop was so greasy that it could cure chapped lips in the wintertime across Alabama. I sent it back and the manager then tried to explain to me that it is the center cut and that is why it is so fatty. I told him that I understand it is a center cut. I have been frying pork chops for a long long time and not once have they ever been that greasy. I told him that you don't fry pork chops and stick them directly on a plate. You have to let them drain on paper towels, or a rack. Macaroni and cheese tasted like the mac & cheese that you get from Sam's Club or Costco and the family friendly packs. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant and had been sprinkled with a little bit of imitation crab meat. Maybe we got them on an off night, but this was not it.

The service was amazing. The food was delicious and it has been every time that we go. The Chocolate cake is worth the trip alone. The Duck Egg Rolls are so rich with flavor!

But everything else exceeded the high expectations I'd had from reading reviews. Chicken was best ever. Salisbury Steak was even better. Veggies were all excellent, even the orka which I'm not a big fan of. My wife did two…read moredifferent AI restaurant searches and Martha's Place came up on both searches, as highly recommended and one of the best-known country cooking / soul food spots in Montgomery. Martha's Place it is... Upon arrival, Martha's place looked very upscale. Very nice building and many Mercedes and Cadillacs were parked out front. We started to wonder if we'd wandered into some rich neighborhood where the prices would be sky high! We walked in and a young lady greeted us and told us that lunch was $14 including a drink. GREAT! Everyone in the restaurant was amiable and helpful. (Staff and customers). We went to the buffet and loaded our plates with beautifully fried chicken and meatloaf for our proteins. For our sides we had collards, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas a couple of pieces of cornbread and some banana pudding for dessert. Then, the first weird thing happened. As we took our seats, the waiter that helped us get seated, told us that they only had one fork and one knife. We assumed he meant he would go back to the kitchen (or the dishwasher, or wherever) and get us another set. Meanwhile, the food looked SO GOOD, we immediately began sharing the fork and taking turns. MAN! THIS FOOD WAS GREAT! After a couple of minutes, we noticed the second weird thing... we were the only two white folks in the entire, crowded restaurant. And there were LOTS OF PEOPLE. They also do a huge to go business, so, the buffet station stays pretty busy with people coming and going. But, during the entire time we were there, there was not a single non-black customer in the house, except us. Not an employee. Not a customer. Not even a to go customer, just passing through - NOBODY. After about 5 or 6 minutes of taking turns with the fork, we decided our server must've forgotten about us. So, my wife went and asked and was informed they still didn't have any forks. (No. We were not being singled out, as my wife heard them tell another customer the same thing.) My wife asked if they had some plastic utensils, used for to go orders. They were able to oblige. Back to the food... The fried chicken was as good as any I've ever had and much better than any I've had in recent memory. The vegetables were also seasoned and prepared as good as any I've ever had - in a restaurant OR at home. The cornbread didn't have real corn in it, (like I prefer) but it was still some KILLER CORNBREAD. And the nanner puddin' was off the charts. I REALLY WANT some more of that nanner puddin'!! The staff were friendly and helpful and I have no idea why we were the only white folks in attendance. Maybe it was just a weird coincidence. But, I'll tell you this. The nice people at this restaurant KNOW HOW TO COOK. And I highly recommend this restaurant to ANYBODY -- No matter what color you are! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and we look forward to dining there again, the next time we pass through Montgomery. Go here. You won't get a better country meal - anywhere. P.S. You might want to bring a fork.

I let him know that online it states "pet friendly". He was not very nice about even when I told him I was leaving. I guess he wanted to make a statement to the public. If this was driven by a prior history of dogs, I get it. BUT put up signs and even call it out why dogs are not welcome. However, it was awkward listening to the waiter/waitresses/hostess/ kitchen staff have a conversation with each other across the entire restaurant. This was especially true after a patron sent something back and the kitchen came out loudly exclaiming that they wanted to see the food that "wasn't good enough." I had the fried chicken, greens, okra, and mashed potatoes. The chicken was fantastic. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and the tastiest fried skin/breading. That's where the goodness stops. The turnip greens were flavorless and complete mush, as though they had been sitting on the heat all day. Mashed potatoes were clearly from a box based on the consistency, color and flavor. Gravy had no flavor as well. There wasn't enough salt on the table to make it all better. The okra came out about 15min after we got our plates. It was fresh, but again, flavorless. My husband had the fried pork chop. It was just okay -- cooked well, zero flavor. Butter beans were good flavor wise, but definitely seemed to have been sitting for a while. It was odd to us that the only things you could get to drink were water, tea, lemonade, milk, and coffee. The second star is only for the chicken. I doubt we'll go back because the above experience for $50 is not worth it.

Drinks of water, orange juice and sweet tea were in the dining room to the left of the hall. Now the dining room is large enough area to accommodate a party of 40 (there were 28 of us). I don't care for southern cuisine, unless it's seafood. But I did like both fried and baked chickens, spinach and cabbages; had multiple helping of them. I wished rice was included. The abundance of spaces between the tables helped in reducing the noise level. I sat at one of the smaller tables so that helped a lot. The overall decor evokes a pre-1980s feel, and apparently so is the upkeep of the building. The service was good enough that I would have given it at least four stars. Then I went to the men's restroom. When I finished my business, I turned the doorknob to unlock and it came loose. I though: was the door unlocked the entire time? This was shocking. Anyone could have entered. For that, one star is removed. (Had someone entered while I was *ahem* busy, I would have deducted two stars.) The restroom doorknob issue is enough reason for me to not recommend O'Dessa's Blessings. I hope the owners have done something about that.

This bbq joint is definitely a hole within the hole in the wall. In a questionable area BUT don't let that deter you. You order at the window and hang out til your order is ready. (My only gripe was walking away smelling like bbq smoke) I haaaaaate this so bad! The rib plate comes with about 5 bones and two sides. $18 roughly. This was a serious plate with great portions! Definitely had leftovers. I got coleslaw and baked beans to go along with my ribs. Both sides dishes were exceptional! Sooooo good!!! The bbq sauce was amazing as well. Their menu has a number of entree items and traditional sides. It's cash only so be prepared. There is street parking and private parking available. These were some of the best ribs I've ever had!!!! Next visit , I'm getting a slab!! Yummmmmmmmm
