Frenchie's is a must visit in Montgomery. They have amazing food, great staff, and a cool elevated atmosphere. For starters we shared the Mac et Cheese and Boudin Balls. The Mac et Cheese was incredible! The Boudin Balls were a special for Restaurant Week. I got the Spaghetti Pomodoro for dinner, which was delicious and I was told is an Italian chefs family recipe. Also ordered were the Steak Frites and Flounder which received high praise. We ended the meal with an off menu Monte Cristo which was sweet and delish! I can't wait to return to Frenchie's to revisit my favorites and try new items! read more

Mannnn I really wanted to like this restaurant because Montgomery needed a win but nope:( I don't know if it was our neglectful waiter or the below par food. For the apps we got the cheese plate and calamari. The calamari was cold and tiny, it was a little too fishy for my liking as well. The cheese plate was pretty tasty though, the jam and brie was yummy. I got the steak frites which is definitely their most popular dish and while the fries where the best part of the meal, the steak tasted like something you could get from a chain. we also got the chicken, it was cold and the sauce had a very unpleasant taste, and the mash potatoes tasted like instant mash. Lastly the beef Wellington which was the special fell very flat (literally). It looked melted and Gordon would be ashamed. I was excited to get dessert here but after many disappointments we opted out. read more

We visit Montgomery very frequently and this is our favorite place to have a great meal and good wine.

Excellent cocktails, great bistro vibe, and the redfish dish was superb (I say this as someone who has eaten at all the top classic restaurants in New Orleans for ten years.) We will be back to try more dishes. Burger looked great. Shrimp remoulade salad had great greens, etc, but I wanted more bite to the remoulade sauce which had little seasoning. Went for my Birthday. I enjoyed everything about this place. It was chill and the food was delicious. The style of the restaurant reminds me of a old fashioned restaurant on The Twilight Zone. I loved the Trout Dip!? And the drinks were just right. The Crème Brûlée was delicious! Montgomery has a new gem in Frenchie's. The space, the service, and food all surpassed our party's expectations. The Fromage Board was simple but elegant and the selection of cheeses and accompaniments was masterfully picked. The French Onion Dip was giving is major Bottega Cafe vibes and we didn't hate it. The dip was cool and creamy and the house made potato chips added a welcomed saltiness and crunch. The burger, croque monsieur, steak frites, and Shrimp Remoulade salad were all spot on. Our table had not one complaint and we left plates any dishwasher would appreciate. The deserts were killer (particularly the crème brule). Lastly, our waiter, Abby, was a delight. She was knowledgeable, approachable, and was obviously so happy to working at this new and wonderful restaurant. Whoever designed this place did an awesome job and Frenchie's is sure to be a Montgomery staple. We can't wait to return! read more

Last night, 6 Jul at Frenchies. Staff has got to take better care of their customers. I am a single dinner and last night when I arrived, I was told no seating, even at the bar was unavailable, but I could eat on the patio. Of course, it's 95 degrees outside, so I sat and waited for a bar seat to come available. There were several other small tables for 2 in the restaurant that were open, and I just figured they were for later reservations. One spot was just by the door. When I left at 7:30PM the same tables had no one at them. The manager at the door must take care of their single diners. The restaurant had cod as a special, but by the time I got to order it was sold out, so I had the Steak Frites with peppercorn sauce and a salad and washed it all down with a couple glasses of French Pinot Noir and for dessert the creme brulee. The manager and staff seemed so busy socializing with friends that had come to visit. First up the glasses. All of them are white wine glasses, come on a buy some big bowled red wine glasses. I never was offered bread. Next up was the salad, I had to chase down the bartender, since I was sitting at the bar for utensils. She said, "I forgot". No, I was just invisible because I was eating alone. Salad was excellent, but not very French. Next was the main course, the peppercorn sauce was excellent, but the entire dish was way too salty. I don't know if the fries were, or the sauce I couldn't figure it out, but too much salt. Lastly was dessert, the sugar crust was way over cooked. It wasn't golden, it was almost black. Frenchies Restaurant seemed far from French cooking. The staff was a bit snobbish, just not friendly. I frequent many of the nicer restaurants in Montgomery and Atlanta. You have got to take care of everyone that walks through your door. Even us single dinners. You did not make this single dinner feel welcome and lay off the salt a bit. If you only want ambiance and service go to Frenchie's. However if you want good food avoid it at all costs. Not only was the food not flavorful but the restaurant charges extra for things like ketchup or more bread. By the way, they don't serve iced tea. Do the owners not know where they are located? Menu is extremely short and the selections are uninspired. Out of the four entrees that we ordered (half the menu) none would be selected again. The french fries are pretty good. Montgomery needs more good restaurants, with the addition of Frenchie's we still do. read more
