If you're in Montgomery and you want great craft beer, this is the place. The atmosphere doesn't get any better. Cozy, old school New Orleans vibe with dimly lit lamps, carved wooden walls and thick red curtains. One of the best places to hang out and enjoy a beer with friends anywhere. An awesome selection of local, national, and foreign beers on draft. The beers on tap change every week or so, so you'll always have something new to try. This is a neat spot located off of the beaten path. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and did a great job of making recommendations. The price, for Montgomery Is slightly on the higher side but you get a quality product with great service. I ordered an Old Fashioned and I must say that it is one of the best Old Fashioned(s) I've ever had. My wife ordered one of their frozen drinks and it was delish! Heard about and came here on recommendation from a person who overheard I was TDY to Maxwell. Very classy and pretty decent microbrew draft beer selection that puts Old C's to shame. Outside deck was lots on fun. The crowd comprised of young professionals (late 20s early 30s) with hardly college students, but for some odd reason a lot of pretty boys. My boyfriend and I are somewhat regulars here. Caitlin, Emily, Ford, and really the whole staff are wonderful. Caitlin is so sweet and welcomes us in every time and asks how our lives are before taking our order. Honestly one of the best bars I've ever been to. Good place to sit out back and talk to friends even if you don't drink, atmosphere is swell. When it's peak hours after dusk, the crowd humming with conversations can really put you in a trance... It's always hard to find a good bar when you are visiting a city. I have been here on a couple occasions on the weekend. It's off the beaten trail of downtown Montgomery. This is a bar with a great laid back comfortable feel. It's low light level and jazz/blues/folksy music selection sets the time for an almost lounge feel. There is a great mix of patrons from professionals to bikers, on one of the nights I went. They have great beers on tap and in bottle..I'm talking Chimay, Delirium, and La Trappe. The cocktail drinks menu I have sampled was very good, as was the staff that made the drinks. It took a while for me to find this place. It is sort of hidden and not well-lit. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in to the bar. The bartender instantly greeted me and made a few suggestions. She made a good cosmo! No drink specials and limited seating. The place could use some remodeling, not really my scene, but I wanted to check it out. One of the better bars in Montgomery. Depending on which direction you approach from, it's either up an alley or in the back corner of a parking lot. I first stumbled on it by accident looking for some other place. The interior is cool, older, and dimly lit. It's a long, narrow bar with seating on either the bar or wall side. The crowd has it's share of hipsters but it isn't obnoxious. There's also a covered/fenced patio area in the back. They have a wall full of taps and a nice, descriptive beer menu for your reviewing pleasure if you're like me and need a minute to decide. Beer prices can range from the fair to the ridiculous. The offerings are not strictly limited to beer and they have a good variety of drinks. A couple of weeks ago one of the specials was Fernet Branca, which almost certainly isn't trumpeted on any other menu in Montgomery. Overall a nice place and a much better scene than the downtown bars. On a crowded night it can be hard to find a spot at the bar and the narrow passage makes it a little tough to navigate, but that's really the only (slightly) negative thing I can say. read more

Leroy is a hidden Gem, the staff is awesome, unless you know what to ask for, take a minute to browse their booklet of craft beers available, but most importantly take a minute to look up above the bar at their on draft sign that shows what they are currently serving on tap. the outdoor area is nice, especially for cigar smoking, but i would prefer a canopy for when it rains. read more

Leroy is an all beer offshoot of trendy El Rey around the corner. I've been here twice and have enjoyed myself both times. They have worked hard to put together a great beer selection and are always on the lookout for specials to try and regular picks to add to the menu. The layout of the bar is a little awkward, it's long and skinny inside, so you're either at the bar or on a smaller "bar" against the opposite wall. Not a lot of room to spread out inside, but they do have more of an expanse outside with tables on the patio. If I gave a damn about decor, I might ding them for the minimalist approach, but who am I kidding? I go to bars to drink, and I like drinking here. Excellent selection and knowledgeable bar staff. Most Belgian beers I've seen outside of Belgium. If you're looking for pitchers of Fatweiser, you'll be disappointed with Leroy, but if you like enjoying a tasty craft beer, your time here will be well spent. read more

It's a nice idea for a bar as a "waiting room" for El Ray's. The well drinks are good and the beer selection on tap is pretty extensive for a bar in Montgomery. Just a heads up - it's pricey. Located in Cloverdale, this place has a huge selection of draft and bottled beer. Their bartenders also make delicious cocktail. Come here to pregame before you stuff your face with El Rey's or Tomatinos, and then return for more drinks. Pretty relaxed ambience, not a place to turn down for nothing. SO great. I've forgotten the bartender's name, but she provided fantastic service and recommendations. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone, and you can also buy bottles to go! There is indoor and outdoor seating with a unique marquee-style draft menu and nice ambience. This is one of our favorite bars my boyfriend and I have ever been to, and we're pretty well-traveled. We'd be regulars if we lived in Montgomery. We planned to go back a second time, but had trouble finding an Uber that night. Missed out! read more

This bar has quickly become one of my Montgomery staples. The ambiance is cool and fun, drinks are great, and I love the backyard area! The drinks are a little bit more expensive than you'd typically see in Alabama, but they do have some really great cocktails. The black Lavredor is my favorite, I'm a sucker for anything with lavender in it. The bartenders are also always friendly, even when it's busy. If you're new to the area, visiting, or just wondering where everybody is hiding on a Friday or Saturday night, start the night here. Oh Montgomery, I knew you had a hipster part of you. I made my way over here after a long hurricane evacuation because I needed more than just a beer. I wanted a sophisticated cocktail and these folks did not disappoint. I found a spot by the bar and sulked into my cocktail. The staff was great, they really work in such unison. Teamwork is definitely present. The dim lighting on the sign gave it that sultry yet low key vibe. After my frou frou cocktail, I noticed they had an pretty impressive beer list so of course I dove in. I went to a few bars in town and this one was my favorite, hands down. It's located in a cute neighborhood known for its historical factor so I'm not surprised the vibe was also groovy. In the back, there's some picnic tables to drink and chill at. The area is covered in cool signs and stickers. As you make your way back inside, the framed art is definitely something to observe. Good Job, Montgomery. read more
