The restaurant itself is very large with lots of seating and a parking lot in front. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The service speed was also fairly quick. There is a drive to get up to the restaurant, and it's alittle tight. If you have a problem with heights, this might be dicey. My daughter and I got prime rib. Both were cooked to our preferred temps, and they came with horseradish and au jus. They also brought sour cream for the baked potato. It's a generous portion, and I was stuffed. They enjoyed them and ate good portions (picky eaters). My daughter got creme brulee for dessert and loved it. Our server was very attentive to us, and offered to bring the kids' food out first if it was ready. Our server also had some rocks that glowed under blacklight, and showed it off for the kids. Zax Restaurant in Moab is a fantastic choice after a long day of hiking at Arches National Park. The restaurant features two levels of outdoor seating, and I was lucky enough to be seated on the upstairs patio level with a great view overlooking downtown Moab. After a full day on the trails, I started off with a refreshing Blue Moon to quench my thirst. The Garlic Knots I ordered as an appetizer were delicious - the perfect shareable snack. For my main course, I opted for the individual Pepperoni Sausage Pizza, which hit the spot. The crust was nicely thin and crispy, and the pepperoni and sausage toppings were flavorful without being too heavy. Overall, Zax provided a wonderful dining experience with its scenic patio seating, tasty menu options, and attentive service. It's the perfect spot to relax and refuel after adventuring in Moab. I'd highly recommend Zax to anyone visiting the area. read more

I gave this watering hole 5 stars....for FOOD and GREAT VIBE of people working in the restaurant to make sure you get what you want, you like what you get, and you get to where you want to go. OUTSTANDING shout out to George, Tim, and especially Judy who made sure my meal the day before the Canyonlands half was just right!...(I got both entrees and ate them both within 8 hours) The ROOT BEER was local and spectacular. The Humus platter was the best in town. The ribs were satisfyiing and finger licking good. The Chicken Parm with fresh fettuccine was to die for. The steak salad was just right.....and if this review sounds like we were there more than once, twice, three times.....YOU GOT IT RIGHT! We were there EVERY day of our stay and plan to make it a habit each and every time in our future trips. read more

My friends and I ate here after hiking at the Canyonlands. We showed up around 7pm, there was a wait but we didn't mind. We chose this restaurant because we wanted to sit on the outside patio. As we waited I bought us all drinks at the bar. The bartender served us immediately and the drinks were mixed really well. I had a Moscow mule. We didn't wait very long after getting our drinks, then our table was called. We sat at the corner table next to the fire and waterfall. The waitress was very informative and checked on us often. I ordered the salmon and loved it. My friend had the salad bar and pizza, and my other friend ordered a sandwich. We really enjoyed our time there. I'd recommend this place! Order the salmon! read more

Zax is the burger joint of my dreams! Not only do they have a mouth-watering selection of burgers that will make your taste buds do the happy dance, but they also cater to us gluten-free folks. I mean, who knew you could have a gluten-free bun that actually tastes good? Zax does, that's who. And let's not forget the fact that the staff actually knows what gluten is and can help guide you through the menu. So, if you're looking for a place to satisfy your burger cravings without the gluten guilt, Zax is the place to go. Trust me, your stomach will thank you. read more

Stopped in for lunch, and ordered the pizza/salad bar buffet. The salad bar was pretty mediocre, similar to fast food salad bars. But, I wanted to eat some green things, so it worked. The pizza was quite good. I tried most all of the varieties they had out (6-7 pies) and all were good. Unlike some prior reviewers, I loved the crust. The pizza guy was very nice, and asked if I had any requests. The service was good, got refills on soda, salad bowls taken away quickly and staff was pleasant. read more
