No big deal cause it was pretty good & the tzaziki sauce was tasty. My friend asked for med rare on the chops but they were more well done. Had good seasoning. He chose the basmati rice & salad for his sides. He said the salad was ok mainly cause he didn't all the chopped tomatoes that came with it. He enjoyed the rice said it had good flavor. The meat mousaka was ok but it would have been better with a bit of salt & there weren't any on the table. My sides were the basmati rice (agree with friend was really good) & the hummus. We have been here twice now. It's actually pretty good. I have tried the salad with gyro meat and the gyro plate. Both were good. They have a side of hot sauce that is also amazing! They charge .95 for it. If you like a spicy sauce on your gyro it's worth it. The pita bread is always warm and pairs nicely with the hummus. There was flys all around the place. There was a curtain enclosed area where a small boy was playing, and he proceeded to run thru the kitchen several times. I ordered the veggie plate and the falafel patties were a little gummy on the inside, my Greek salad was wilted and the tzatiki sauce seemed to be watered down, which left it lacking flavor. We ordered the hummus which flavorless and there was to much oil on top. My dinning guest had the pasta, and it was awful to look at.. the pasta was drenched in this green sauce that settled at the bottom of the plate. Updated Review Moe, the manager, reached out and addressed my issue regarding portion size. I explained that I'm doing keto and can't have the pita so the meal was basically the meat, hummus, and salad for me. He gets 5 stars based on customer service as he instantly wanted to rectify the problem. Previous Review I ordered here on Uber Eats based off of the reviews. I had the gyro plate with hummus and salad as sides and ordered a spanakopita. I'm used to being able to make at least two meals out of a gyro plate at other places. Went there tonight with my wife and daughter. We have eaten tons of Mediterranean food in numerous places. The lamb I had was very good, my daughter's gyro meet had a funny, off-putting flavor and my wife's salad was pretty bad. Once the food got there, we never saw our waitress again, so no opportunity to ask anything or get our iced tea refilled. We finally saw her again when we were 90% done eating and she popped up, asking us to pay. She then watched me as I selected how much to tip her. Lastly, the app on the mobile payment device let you pick between 25, 20 and 18% tip, or enter a custom amount. I normally tip handsomely but I hate being prodded into an amount of at least 18%. We are adapting a Mediterranean lifestyle and we are on our 7th day and this was a treat. We ordered several dishes so that we could get an overall taste of everything. We also got the Mohammarah Dip, which had the perfect spice and flavor. Then we ordered Zara's Mixed Grill (feeds 2). I can't even pick which meat was my favorite. The owner subbed the beef shawarma and gave us the lamb instead. That was my husband's favorite. Mine is a tie between that, the chicken shawarma, and the chicken kabob. Wow, everything was so full of flavor. The rice, I don't even know where to begin. I'm not a fan of rice at all, but this rice is full of flavor and almost melts in your mouth. I wanted to order a huge bowl of rice to go. We also ordered tabbouleh salad and it was great! We ended the night with a pistachio baklava and a walnut baklava. We both chose the walnut baklava as our favorite, but both were wonderful! This was a 5 star experience with amazing customer service. We enjoyed the hospitality of the owner / sister. We were in Houston for a concert and staying in The Woodlands. My daughter is Muslim and can only eat halal food. I yelped this place and it had good reviews so we gave it a shot. I went in today for the first time. I honestly had never seen this wonderful place before now. The food was great, but this not the best part of my experience. My waitress, Mira was incredible! One of the best waitresses that I have ever encountered. She was extremely polite, and attentive without being overwhelming. She anticipated my needs, checked on me appropriately, and did not reduce her level of service based on the fact that I was there as a single diner. If you have not dined here before- you should. Keep in mind Dearborn (suburb just outside Detroit) has the largest concentration of Muslims in the country thus making Mediterranean cuisine plentiful and very good. I realize this place has been around for a while, but hubs and I generally always head into town for Niko Niko's for some good Greek. Last night, I was too tired to make my own falafel, so I googled "healthy food near me." Zara's came right up so we decided to try it. Hubs picked up our orders (his was his usual gyros, mine the falafel). We both got our favorite sides (his French fries and salad and mine hummus and salad). My goodness it was so fresh, hot, and tasty. We haven't been to the restaurant to sit down, but we will give that a go as well sometime. Meanwhile, this is our new go-to for Mediterranean. We ordered the Mixed Grill which is for two and it was honestly more for three or four. It was soooooo much food! All of the food was excellent. I wasn't a huge fan of the basmati rice as I thought it was over seasoned, but I know that every Mediterranean place does rice just a little differently. This would also be a great spot for my vegetarian friends as the produce was vibrant and fresh. Service was a little absent, but not to the point of irritation. Overall very underwhelming considering the high praise. It serviced us for lunch and the wraps were good, but when we eat Mediterranean, we go for the tasty little nibbles and salads more so and they didn't shine here at all in our opinion. We ordered takeaway with several items so we could get a good idea since it was our first visit. We got gyro wrap-good; falafel wrap-also good; fatoush salad-no hint of sumac (added my own) and NO pita or other flat bread pieces and these bits are a key component. Maybe they forgot to give them to us on the side? The veggies that were in it were chopped small, which was nice and they did add parsley to it, but over all not like any other fatoush salad I've ever had. We also got a maza with baba ghanoush-my husband approved; hummus-so incredibly dull; no garlic, no salt, no flavor except for the chick peas; tabbouleh-also disappointing as there was not even a hint of mint at all nor lemon juice. We also got the lentil soup, but we haven't tried it (awkward choice for a shared maza, but I usually judge based on the soup. As the rest was mostly unremarkable, I don't care how spectacular the soup may be...) The staff was very friendly and the order was completed quickly. If we were nearby, we wouldn't object to grabbing a wrap for lunch, but it will not become our go to place. Solid 3.5 stars read more
