My girlfriend and I went here on a Friday around 1:00pm to try it out because of the great reviews, we have both worked in restaurants for a while and like to experiment when we go out to eat, we walked in to a pretty busy lunch rush with one pairing of ladies waiting to be sat ahead of us. We stood near the front for about 10 minutes, waiting for someone to come greet us or let us know how long the wait would be. I got tired of standing and took a seat on the bench (also witnessed about 3 different servers actively avoid catching eye contact with me or my girlfriend). After taking a seat on the bench for about 5 minutes without being greeted still another pairing of ladies (I assume to be regulars) walked in the front door and were immediately greeted warmly by a waiter who obviously recognized them and then after finishing a brisk conversation with them, sat the women who were ahead of us and then did not return to the front to greet us. We waited about another 5-7minutes without being greeted before my girlfriend and I decided to leave. As we are walking out of the door a waitress tried to rush to the front to stop us from leaving, so at least someone tried but I just felt purposefully ignored, and a little disrespected by the whole experience. The food here is good, the service is not. We have been here many times (because honestly, there are not a ton of options in Rockwall). The pizza is good, everything is cooked in a wood fire oven. We have actually walked out before because we stood at the front waiting to be seated for 10 minutes, and were never acknowledged. Then we went to the bar and the bartender proceeded to have a conversation with a friend or regular rather then greet us. We got up and walked out... not that the staff noticed. read more

I dined here with a girlfriend this week and the menu gave us plenty of choices and price points. The tomato basil creamy soup was delicious and hot as a soup should be. We split the salmon crabmeat burger and a white sauce pizza just to be able to try more things and have some to take home! We loved it all as well as the ambiance created by the pizza ovens and warm interior. Our waitress was backed up by other servers and was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I went to Zanata tonight, after hearing all the rave reviews from the locals, and it was a wonderful experience. We had about a 45 minute wait to be seated, which I heard was not bad considering that at peak times the wait can be much longer. After eating here, I fully understand the wait as the total experience was wonderful. Our server was amazing and personable. She was very good at anticipating our wants before we even had to ask her for anything. The drinks were well made and did not taste like a pre-mixer had been used. The food was really the star of the show! I had the halibut special and my husband had the rib eye. Both entrees were some of the best things that I had ever eaten, seasoned extremely well, and very fresh. We will be coming back for sure. Be prepared to wait for a table, but believe me, it is definitely worth it! read more

Great for the area. I'm just a visitor to TX and the pizza was good, but not out of this world or anything. Lots of other places we've tried on trips to the area haven't stood up to Dallas or other bigger cities' choices so this was a nice change. Beer choices could use work though. What kind of pizza place doesn't stock an IPA these days? Our waiter dropped my leftovers and had a new pizza made for me even though I insisted against it, but who could complain about that? They even got the special instructions right the second time! read more

One of my favorites in the area. I love that Happy Hour Pizza! The service is good, nothing spectacular, but consistent. The atmosphere is rustic urban, but it tends to get loud and can sometimes be difficult to have conversations. All in all, we'll keep coming back! read more

The food was DELICIOUS! I had the pumpkin raviolis and my husband and I licked that plate clean! The steak wasn't fantastic though, too much balsamic vinegrette. My only other complaint was the seating. Those chairs are so uncomfortable. Other than that, our waitress was wonderful and we really enjoyed dining here. read more

Despite the noise during our first visit, we found nothing not to like. Tuesday night's dinner special drew its usual raucous crowd, but we found space at the bar and the wait for a table not unreasonable. Though limited in scope, the drinks list touched all bases - even offering a dry French rose wine. The staff managed to keep everyone served with smiles all around. Wow! This place serves the best pizza around..and also probably lots of COVID. Hats off to the 3 hostesses and the two men working the pizza oven who wore their masks. A big thumbs down to management who observed and allowed the bartenders to not wear masks at all, and the wait staff to wear them on their chin or neck, or under their nose. I am in love! Their gluten free pizza was PHENOMENAL!!!! Can't always find a gluten free crust that is good and this one was awesome! We will be back on Tuesday nights for the pizza special for sure! They even gave us gluten free crisps for our appetizer of hummus and pimento cheese dip - which was great! So glad we finally made it in --only a 20 minute wait so we shopped the square a bit (though most stores close by 6) - and you can have wine/cocktails while walking the square which is a plus of course! read more
