Wow, what a great date night place! Located in DT Fullerton, it's a bit hard to find parking as all of the restaurants are congregated in the same section. It's a small narrow restaurant but cute decor with mural, plants throughout. I'm here for the food, it was delicious. They mentioned everything could take awhile because it's handmade but I didn't feel like we waited that long. Birria plate, a must, very uniqu. Aguachiles had great flavor. Homemade tortillas were wonderful. The guacamole had a unique flavor and tasty. I had the new fresca margarita. Everything was served tapas style and very tasty! A cool little hangout place located in the heart of Downtown Fullerton. I highly recommend their happy hour! Our group went on a Wednesday and had a great time! We ordered the taquitos, bacon-wrapped dates, wings, & nachos, which was my favorite. We also availed their promotion for this week which was an $18 beer bucket. You can pick and choose 6 bottles or cans of beer. My friend said the house wine was good. The girls got the classic margaritas for $8, +1 if you want it flavored. It was good, although a bit on the saltier side. I would suggest following their social media to know what promotions they have. We came here during happy hour on Taco Tuesday and wowwww loved the ambiance, service, and drinks! The nachos and lemon pepper chicken we got too were great. One thing is that the chicken was slightly too salty and the nacho to carne ratio was kinda off--too much tortilla not enough meat. We were headed somewhere else but found that place didn't open until 4pm. So what did we do? Get on Yelp to find another restaurant close by and that's how we found ZAMA Lounge. Even better, we made it there in time for Happy Hour! We were able to try a little bit of everything tapas-style... started off with chips and salsa, added guacamole, then had wings. My brother-in-law got the honey chili lime wings and said they were nice and spicy. I can't do spicy, the lemon pepper wings were perfectly seasoned and just the right flavor for me. At 11pm on a Saturday Night We thought this place had a lot of potential, we were VERY wrong. As we approached the walkway entrance the bouncer kept telling us come on in there's no cover charge..he said the place is empty so you'll be able to get your drinks quick. We figured okay why not give it a shot. Upon entering he was right the place was VERY empty quite a contrast to the Irish Pub that used to be there that was always packed. We entered and ordered a round of 6 Coors Light Pints (Small Size Beers). I'm sure you can imagine our disbelief when we received our beers in smaller plastic cups and a bill for almost 90 dollars?!? I went up to the bartender and I said I think we may have been overcharged we just ordered 6 Small Coors Light Drafts. He said yeah man that's the correct price the owners said if we don't have a cover charge we have to make up for it on jacking up the prices on drinks. I told him it's Coors Light Drafts not even a fancy stout? He said yup! That's why you see it so empty in here our drink prices are rough. Needless to say we left right after. Don't waste your time or your money. Go down the street for better prices, drinks, and overall ambience. read more

The food here is always delicious! 4.5/5 You can't go wrong with the asada nachos, they are pretty generous in size. Aguachiles are raw and cooked in the lime, they are very delicious! But if you like your shrimps pink then maybe this is not for you. The green enchiladas are generously drenched in sauce and they are rich in flavor with the tinga chicken inside. Truffle fries with Zama Burger are sooo good! The fries have chile flacked and grated cheese in them too which all work out so well. The tacos this time around were smaller than we expected, but are really good in flavor the shrimp and asada are my favorite. Sorry I don't have pictures of the food Drinks 5/5, they are delicious! JACKIE is my go to bartender, she's attentive and does a great job! The inside is a vibe. They even have a Zama vibe neon sign on a grad wall which I love. The restrooms are cute too! Zama pleasantly surprised me! Located in the heart of DTF by Ziings. Reservations can be made on open table but this place is still fairly new so it seems to be all walk ins as the word hasn't gotten out yet, but this place is truly a gem. Truly loved the aesthetics of the place-- doesn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in it gives off a cancun/ mexico vibe with a rainforest feel. What really stole my heart about this place was the service. The staff was really genuine and attentive. Shout out to Anthony for really providing great recommendations and making sure we had a wonderful night. Along with great service were the show stopping drinks and the authentic food. All the drinks were truly BEAUTIFUL and so good. I ordered the new fashion for $20 and it was a presentation with the smoke. We also loved cancun waters, el jardin, paloma and rumble in the jungle. A majority of the cocktails range from $15-20. The food is latin inspired and really authentic. I can't rave enough about the birria empanadas! First time checking this place out. Went only for a drink and small bites. It was empty with lots of staff at that hour. Everyone was pretty friendly. I ordered a "flamingo"and though it was pricey $18 (specialty drink) I definitely enjoyed it .the taste was unique and the quality better than I expected. We got guac n chips and lemon pepper fries-something you can't really mess up. I would definitely stop by again for an occasional drink. 2 small appetizers and 2 drinks came out to aprox $45 plus tip so not too bad. Small detail though-we didn't have napkins nor were we asked if we needed any even though we were really only people there. Maybe they didn't want to bother us ? This place is a cute spot in downtown Fullerton! Loved the decor, music and food was delicious! If you are going with multiple people, i recommend starting off with the jungle fries because those were fire and super large. It had everything you need to make these fries loaded with flavor. This place is so good I had to do another review. I took my boys out for their lunch, and love going here because it's my neighborhood go-to. I had the chilaquiles for a late breakfast, which were delicious. My kids are super picky but love the fries there, and although they always fight me on rice, they surprisingly ate it and said it was good with a thumbs up! The staff was accommodating, as usual, and continually checked in on us. They even went out of their way to interact with my toddlers and give them special attention. The food here was amazing. The birria tacos and gobernardor shrimp tacos were the best thing on our table. The serving size of the guac was surprising. We expected a tiny dollop on top of some chips, but it was an entire bowl filled with guacamole and a side plate of chips. However, the drinks were good but were practically empty. The cup was filled with ice and topped with fancy decor but there was hardly anything inside to drink. Service was the worst I've had in quit a while. They were incredibly slow at taking our orders or coming around for refills. We had 3 different people come to our table and ask if we had been helped and still waited a while for our drinks when we'd ask for updates. One friend asked for a drink at the bar when we arrived prior to seating and she never received it, luckily it was not on our bill at the end of the night. The restaurant itself has a very fun Tulum themed aesthetic that's mostly present at the entrance. The further back you're seated though, the closer you are to the bathrooms in kind of a narrow hallway right next to the kitchen. I can only leave a negative review on their service, since I waited over 30 min and no one came to take our drink orders, let alone food. This was terrible, especially when I had a reservation. Great overall experience! We made a reservation for 6:30, but there still seemed to be plenty of seating when we arrived. Atmosphere was great...fun lighting, unique decor, interesting music. My only complaint was the high top table chairs. They are way too small/uncomfortable, and we heard several other parties complaining as well. Regardless, it didn't ruin the experience. We ordered sever as l small plates/tapas: the birria empanadas were bigger than I expected, but lacked an explosion of flavor that I was expecting. Temperature was great, texture was amazing, it just missed a little POP of flavor. Same for the taquitos...everything about them was spot-on, but flavor just wasn't exciting. The esquites (think: elote corn but off-the-cob) was exceptionally flavorful, thanks to the tajin and lime mayo. The best, by far, was the HEAPING serving of guacamole.
