Miso Glazed Salmon

Beautiful quaint new restaurant in Fullerton. A true indoor outdoor space perfect for date night or a girls night out! Service staff was attentive and fun enhancing the experience as well. Simple / seasonal menu with delicious offerings and a massive wine menu. We shared the Caesar Salad and we lovvvved it! I had the Salmon for my entree and WOW, one of the best Salmon dishes I've had. Will definitely be back, soon.

The food, service, and wine selection were all wonderful! The new owners have improved the quality and it has become one of our favorite local spots. With warm weather here, the outdoor courtyard is delightful, too.

Last night, my husband and I celebrated the 48th anniversary of our first date. After seeing a review last week on Benchmark at Maison Fox, we decided to try it out. We're so glad we did. From the ambiance to the food, dessert, and champagne, everything was wonderful. We even met one of the owners, Duane, and David, the sommelier. David recommended a champagne to go with our dinner, and it was absolutely perfect. It made an already special evening even more memorable. We're already excited to go back.

They also have happy hour Tuesdays-Thursday from 2:00-5:30pm, where they offer house wines for $5 and personal cheese board for $10. For boards, I usually get the Goldilocks specialty board, which comes with 3 cheeses ranging in texture from soft to hard. For an additional cost, you can add meat: prosciutto, salami, Spanish chorizo, or half & half of any two. For paninis, everything I've tried was very good. I've had the Signature which has a double-cream brie, pear slices, mixed greens, and fig jam. Lib Grilled Cheese comes with three premium cheese blend, grilled with olive oil, and minced garlic. All paninis are on their sourdough bread and served with their signature side salad. The decor here is very cute - showcasing their cheese fridge and shelves lined with wines and jams available for purchase. There are some tables both indoors and outside. I recently saw that they host events, offer quick same-day catering within 2-3 hours of ordering, and deliver for orders up to 50 people! Always coming back for their cheese boards and great happy hour!

I really want to like this restaurant. I have been following them on social media since the…read morepandemic, I try to support local small businesses. My first visit was a few months ago, and I felt like I was bothering our server for water refills, napkins and other things. It was a Saturday night and while it was not packed, it took about an hour to get 2 panini's. Went today for my birthday, and my adult son told the server that the three of us were sitting on patio. Server shows up with 2 menus and 2 glasses for water. Sees me and scolds my son for not telling her that there was a third person. She brings a 3rd glass but never a 3rd menu. I specifically mention that we are here for happy hour specials. There is only 1 other table occupied, otherwise it's empty. We wait over 20 minutes to place our order. 1 personal board supposed to be $10. Plus (2) panini's. Wait another 30+ minutes... get our food and that's it. No check in - no water refills. My son goes and gets the server for a box and to order another personal board. We wait another long period to get it. I go inside to taste some cheese. We add on something to our bill. It was $104... I do some quick math and assume the price is because of the cheese I added to the bill. I add a tip on the lowish side, because we didn't really get any "service" to be worth the $18 I added onto it. I get home to review the receipt... and was charged $20 for the personal boards + the add ons... I am so let down. I spent $130 and didn't get awesome service or the happy hour discount. I was expecting to pay $50-$60 ish, and this caught me off guard. I have learned my lesson and won't be going back. I added the pictures so yelp-er's can see portion sizes, of the personalized cheese board.

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.

You pull the giant door and enter a vibe. It's definitely ready for Halloween, a bit dim, old fashioned, lives up to the centuries old feel. We split some soups. Both the lobster bisque and French onion soups were solid. Lobster bisque was super creamy, delicious. French onion was surprisingly mild, not heavy on the salt, very nice. I got the tenderloin, which was fine. But the winner was the salmon, very well-cooked with a super crisp skin. Service was attentive. They accept reservations, but do have a cancellation policy with associated fee for last minute cancellations. Gratuity included for groups of 6+

Cellar absolutely nailed the romantic speakeasy vibe for Valentine's Day. The experience starts…read morebefore you even sit down, when you descend a staircase into this dimly lit, intimate space that feels tucked away from the rest of the world. The ambiance was honestly one of the highlights of the night: cozy without feeling cramped, upscale and perfect for a 4-course dinner. We started with drinks: The Cuff (their rotating bartender's-choice cocktail) and the River of Dreams mocktail with passionfruit, pomegranate, citrus, and orange blossom. The mocktail especially was super refreshing and tropical without being overly sweet. They also brought out a complimentary bread basket that immediately saved us from making poor hunger-driven decisions. For the first course, the Creme Fraiche Tartine with cherry confit tomatoes and fried sage was surprisingly delicate; creamy, airy, and almost slightly sweet in the best way. The potato croquette with truffle aioli was the complete opposite texturally: crispy, rich, and incredibly satisfying. Second course was a mixed bag. The black kale salad with coconut vinaigrette, toasted almonds, and Gruyere sounded amazing on paper, but it felt underdressed and didn't quite come alive. Thankfully, the asparagus soup more than made up for it. The lemon oil brightened everything, and every bite with bacon and croutons added so much depth and texture. For entrées, I accidentally ordered the chicken fettuccine instead of the lamb Wellington I had originally planned on getting...a mistake I regretted almost immediately. The chicken was unfortunately a bit dry and the pasta leaned tougher than expected. HOWEVER, the filet mignon completely stole the show. Perfectly cooked, ridiculously tender, and paired beautifully with the pomme purée, broccolini, and rich port wine demi-glace. Dessert ended the night on a strong note. The vanilla ice cream with bourbon-poached pears was an interesting twist on a familiar flavor combo, while the vanilla souffle with strawberry crème anglaise was comforting and elegant. The crispy caramelized bits around the edge of the soufflé dish were honestly the best bites of the entire dessert course. Overall, Cellar shines brightest in its atmosphere and elevated dining experience. While not every dish hit perfectly, the highs were very high, service was warm, and the entire evening felt thoughtfully curated. Definitely a memorable Valentine's dinner spot if you're looking for something intimate and a little hidden away.

The Blind Rabbit is in building B (I think... 2 story building right off the main road). A reservation is highly recommended, as this spot can only hold about 30 people. As I went alone, my reservation was for a bar seat, which was cool as I was able to watch the bartenders make lots of very cool shaken and stirred drinks. This place serves absinthe drinks plus absinthe served the traditional way (cold water on sugar cube into the alcohol). I did not try that, but was tempted. My pineapple old fashioned (Retired Old Man was what Sergio (bartender) told me) was very tasty. The Tamerand Marg with mezcal that I tried next was just okay (should have stuck with the whiskey!). The ambience is great, but it is quite dark inside. Use the light under the bar top to read the menu. There is food available. I tried the crabcake and thoroughly enjoyed it! If you go looking for the entrance, look for the "boxes" stacked against the wall and the black bunny handle (next to a hostess station that may/may not be staffed). Photos were highly discouraged, so I respected their wishes and just enjoyed the moment. I hope you enjoy it too!
