    4 Piece Egg Rolls
    Mark C.

What a great little surprise! Stopped into Zaep Zaep Thai after getting a card on my door. Didn't even know it was there. It's at the front of the food hall at 216 Oak St in Roanoke. Yay, the owner, was super welcoming and friendly. I got the red curry which was delicious with a lot of fresh crispy vegetables and a great portion of chicken. Everything tasted super fresh and he cooks all the dishes without MSG. Since I was a first time customer he let me sample the egg rolls, which I have to say are some of the best I've had anywhere. I would go back just for those! It's not a fancy place by any stretch. As I said it's in a food hall, but there's plenty of places to sit inside or outside. Yay is from Laos and will be adding Spicy Lao sausage to the menu, which I can't wait for. I'll definitely be going back to try some different dishes very soon and recommend you check them out too!

The restaurant is in a strip mall, but well appointed and clean. We were immediately greeted at the door by the host/waiter, who showed us to a table. The restaurant was fairly quiet, but it was a Sunday lunch when they just opened. I ordered the Thai iced coffee and was not disappointed. We then ordered the spring rolls and Tom Kha. We also decided to take a chance on the Thai dumplings. The waiter brought out a small side salad while we waited for our entrées, which was very good. The dressing was like a Tom Yum sauce and had a nice spicy flavor. The spring rolls arrived, cut into four equal pieces with a lovely peanut sauce. Interestingly, the spring rolls did not have any vermicelli, but instead had plenty of crispy vegetables that paired nicely with the fresh shrimp and the nicely spiced peanut sauce. The Tom Kah was very good and was loaded with chicken, mushrooms and red onion. This was one of the better Tom Khas I have had. The Thai dumplings were also very good, and are like your typical dim sum. We thought for the quality of the food and the niceness of the restaurant that the price was fair. If we are ever stuck in Dallas again, this will definitely be on our list since it is near the airport.

The reviews and pictures made my mouth water and off we went. Great choice. Restaurant is modern and clean. Greeted and seated righted away. Service was impeccable. Started with the Chicken lettuce wraps and they were delicious. Seasoned beautifully and tasty. I love it when it's not soaking in "juices". The crab Rangoon was other worldly and house made. Stuffed with cream cheese. Light on crab and or crab flavor but nonetheless excellently prepared. My sis had to have the Thai Rib eye and I ordered my fave, Chicken Pad Thai. She didn't like her ribeye. I tried it. It was tender and flavorful, but I'd argue who orders a ribeye at a Thai Restaurant...my sis is picky and it was more about her taste bud vs how the steak tasted. The chicken Pad Thai was good. I ordered a spice level 2. Prob should have gotten a 3 but still enjoyed it. They do a nice take out business.
