They've closed?? This place was amazing and I'm glad we had an opportunity to try it months ago (sat on this review for too long). Everything was great: chow kway tieu, kaya toast, rendang and roti.

My flight out is in 1.5 hours. We decide to come by my favorite Malaysian restaurant. Ivy the manager always welcome us. We highly recommend Yong tau fu, hot and sour soup, dried won ton mee and the nasi lemak are very authentic for US. Happy to find a place like this... The incredible one of a kind design of this restaurant is by Ivy herself. She has a design business too, and works with many builders/local contractors. Terima Kasih Ivy for bringing Malacca, Malaysia dishes here to Dallas! Dr Johnson (thefloaterdoctordotcom) and I enjoy dining here..

A nice and true south east Asian restaurant that recently opened, about a year ago. Nice ambiance and modern Malay decor. Whole wall covered with projection of live nature and music. They even have a separate VIP room facing the front. Located at the inner corner of a strip mall. Went for late lunch. You can tell they are really Malaysian family/chef with uniforms etc like a fine dining restaurant. Ordered the infamous Nasi Lemak. Hit all the right notes and good spiciness with the sambal. Curry chicken was tender. I think I missed the real anchovies. Ordered the Malacca sampler with a tasty of appetizer. Chicken satay was crispy and tender. Leg/thigh meat, not breast meat. Five spice meat rolls felt a little too much seasoning. Too strong. Crispy tofu and shrimp cakes were good. Complement with the sauces. Ate too much and they put them in nice take away packaging and bag. Really good service and so far true South East Asian/Malacca cuisine. Will be back for more.

This place warrants another 5 star review. Been big fans since they opened and took a special colleague there for lunch this week. Food was perfection and deliciously unique. Can't get this diverse selection anywhere else. Service impeccable and responsive as always. And the ambiance is lovely - classy elegant yet casual. Not what you would expect from a strip mall place. They also have a beautiful side room with two big round tables for special gatherings. Run don't walk to this place!

3.5 stars. This Malaysian food between of Ft. Worth and Dallas. This is probably the best Malaysian food at these twin cities. People start coming in after 11:45. We got the roti to start. As Malaysian eater like me, they probably need to work on the curry. The next dish is malacca sampler. I like this dish better because it has variety of food. This sampler include shrimp cake, five spice meats roll, fried tofu, satay, and cucumber. This dish I recommended. The entry is the Nasi lemak. I think the rice dish needs to have more coconut milk. Overall service is good. Food comes out to table with decent time.

Not terrible, but not the best. 3.5/5 stars. I'm glad dfw is getting more asian restaurants on the tarrant country side. living in fort worth, the only places you can go to get asian food is either in Haltom City or drive over to carrollton/plano/frisco. when i heard this place had hainan chicken rice, i was extremely stoked to give this place a try. back in southern california, there would be a few places i would frequent to get my hainan chicken rice fix. we ended up getting take out, and ordered the hainan chicken rice and CKT. CKT stands for char kuey teow, which is rice noodles with fishcake, shrimp, and bean sprouts mixed with egg and soy sauce. it was good, but i don't think it was anything special. the cost for the dish was about 17 bucks. As for the hainan chicken rice, the flavor of the chicken and rice were missing that "pizzazz". normally, hainan chicken rice is really flavorful and i don't typically need the sauce, but this one was kinda dry and the rice didn't pack a lot of flavor. maybe i came on an off day, and will give it another try. The interior is very clean and nice. They also have a special room with a digital wall, which i believe you need to reserve ahead of time

Just paid for an amazing meal.

Been here several time and can confidently say they are absolutely, unequivocally, definitely deserve 5 stars for food and service. Sweet baby Jesus all of the food is delicious and authentic. My wife, who's Malaysian, loves coming here. A beautiful taste of home. Anyway, may this gem of a restaurant have many years of success in the future because we love this place!

I love this restaurant! What a cool twist: Malaysian Chinese fusion! The interior of the restaurant was very clean and modern. The dining area was pretty spacious, and they had a private room that is perfect for parties or large family gatherings. The menu had a lot of traditional Chinese dishes with a Malaysian twist. Everything we ordered was good! I highly recommend the skewers and the pepper steak.

The rotti was my favorite-- the curry brought me back to dining in a Kopi in KL. I ordered the Nasi Lamek which was pretty good. The sambal had a nice kick but was milder than I expected. I finished up my dinner with a delicious coconut based dessert soup with chunks of ube and taro. Everything was delicious! The restaurant was nicely designed and the vibes made it for a cute date spot. I'd definitely come again!

Very cool to see a Malaysian place open up in Southlake - I don't know of any in DFW and this is exactly what this area needed. They've been open since November and the restaurant has a great vibe, including a video screen covering the whole wall and projecting peaceful images. Note that this place is BYOB - another plus! The tea presentation is excellent - definitely get a pot of jasmine if you have 3 or 4 ppl as they will refill it w hot water. The roti canai is excellent - make sure you order an extra roti with this dish. The curry noodle soup has a bit of a kick to it and is a huge serving - probably can feed 2! The other 2 dishes we ordered are classic examples of this clean and tasty cuisine - the porridge w pork and preserved egg was thick and flavorful. And the hainanese chicken was perfectly cooked and came with really good chicken rice and some light soy and sambal. We also had one of their desserts, which was not as good as halo halo but still ok. We will definitely be back!

Nice atmosphere. Great service with recommendations. Enjoyed the food. The hot and sour soup was tasty--personal preference would have liked a bit more "sour" (vinegar). Malacca Satay and Curry Chicken both quite good. Will need to return to try other things! BYOB

Wow! Amazing food that I wasn't even able to take a picture of before eating because of how excited I was to dig in! The chicken skewers were the best I've ever had at any restaurant. All the meat was juicy and flavorful and the curry noodles were a great subtle flavor that went well with the rest of their items. The nostalgia I felt when I saw they had Milo on the menu blew me away! The kindness from the staff and the amazing interior is a great ambiance that I look forward to seeing again. Definitely check this place out, will be returning again and again!

    Beautiful dining room.

Malacca has become one of our regulars. The food is clean and fresh. Their house made sizzling tofu is excellent and a must try. I also like to get their house made drinks. You can customize sugar level which is great. Finally, the staff is always friendly and attentive. My 5 and 7 year old's favorite dishes are the Hainanese Chicken and the Malacca Sizzling Tofu. I love getting the sampler.

Even better if you use their app and take advantage of the discounts they offer. The place is well maintain, very clean and though it's not, all the furnishings look new. Making it a really good value, especially when you share a meal or if you're looking to take something home for later! When you order the teriyaki chicken, it's just chicken flavored with teriyaki, and you get a really large portion of chicken. I like my food a little spicy and found the black pepper chicken is delicious! My wife really loves their orange chicken, which apparently is their number one seller! In addition to a sods fountain with ice tea, they have four special drinks, which are a slightly higher price, but are very good... I prefer the mango tea! An important note, I've been to a number of other Pands, this one is the best one I've ever eaten at, which is probably one of the reasons we keep coming back, unfortunately they're not all this good! I highly recommend this location!

The dumplings themselves absolutely lived up to the hype--perfectly delicate with a flavorful broth inside. We also ordered the dim sum combination, additional dim sum, and lo mein, and everything came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The variety in the dim sum was impressive, and the lo mein had a great texture and seasoning that tied the meal together nicely. You can tell there's real skill in the kitchen when it comes to the food. My only complaint was noticing the staff making the fresh dumplings eating personal food while working. It took away a bit from the overall experience and professionalism you'd expect, especially in an open kitchen setting. That said, the food quality is definitely worth it, and I'd still recommend stopping by if you're craving authentic soup dumplings in the area. Solid 4 stars!

The tofu actually came out after the noodles, and the sweet chili sauce it was served with was rather thick. I think a different sauce, or having the tofu coated in the sauce, would have been much better. The noodles had good flavor overall, but there were barely any vegetables, and the noodles seemed a little chewy. I would have preferred lo mein noodles instead. The price was also pretty steep for the noodle dish. I've had better tofu and noodles elsewhere. I had to ask for chili oil, and our server only checked on us once. It was an early Thursday evening and the restaurant wasn't busy. I think this place is probably more popular for its soup dumplings and dim sum. Oh, and there were also flies around our table, which was very off-putting.

Should've done a side-by-side, but it was only me. Lol. The fish was exquisite. The heat was also good. All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works.
