C1. Steamed Juicy Dumplings (6 pcs) / 小笼包

Authentic options of soup dumplings, including the chocolate dessert dumplings. Plenty of space and feels like a real Chinese restaurant. We were seated right away with attentive services. Next time, will try the Peking Duck option! Definitely recommend

We were in the grapevine area and craving Asian food. I'll preface this by saying I always go to Richardson/plano/Frisco but this was an opportunity to explore a new area and measure it against the same bar. Firstly, there were mostly caucasians in the restaurant (nothing wrong with that, just that it's an indicator of the clientele and potentially authenticity). The service was awesome and one of the main chefs was having a lot of fun with his hats where the ears pop up when you squeeze the long ends which the kids seemed to love. The food- I really wanted Peking duck and this was not up to par. The duck was a bit dry and the skin was more like roasted duck, not the crispy skin with the fat trimmed off that you eat with the pancake. The scallion pancake was delicious and the noodles were a generous portion. The soup dumplings were good but only 6 for the price point was a bit disappointing. Definitely more of a PF Chang style menu for the local crowd which is smart. I enjoyed the meal but will likely return to some of my more usual haunts.

The food was great and service was well timed. Clean and very friendly. I have the corn and chicken soup the dumpling sampler which came with two vegetable, two pork, two shrimp and two seafood dumplings, and I have the honey walnut shrimp as my entrée. Everything was good and tasted wonderful.

After a couple years I decided to this place again, twice this month. The lunch hour is INSANE. Waiters and waitresses tossing plates onto the table after a rush info of what the plate is. (This caused some confusion). They were so busy they forgot my crab ragoon, sob. We tried again after the big freeze for lunch. Nearly empty. Perfect. Much slower, caring service. The lunch special for 15 is plenty of food! You get your choice of rice or noodles and a choice of protein. It comes with a soup, egg roll, and edamame. I highly recommend steaming for all your dumpling choices. And be careful they are served H O T. They do cool quickly on the outside but the meat will get ya! Over all, a special treat once in a while. Try to not come during lunch haha

I am forever in search of delish dumplings and noodles. This place did not disappoint!!! Great service, very hard working staff and able to help you make decisions if needed! Perfect on the inside for seating. No nonsense, awesome Dim Sum, the flat noodle rock and a plethora of main dishes to choose from....go here if you want all of the above!

Dragon House was a total hit from start to finish. Great service right off the bat. Friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The real star for me was the stir-fried hand-pulled noodles. The texture was chef's kiss!Perfectly chewy, not soggy, and packed with flavor. The kind of noodles you keep thinking about after the meal is over! We also ordered the truffle xiao long bao, chili wontons, Wagyu dumplings, and cucumbers, and honestly, there wasn't a weak dish in the lineup. The xiao long bao were rich and indulgent without being overpowering, the chili wontons had just the right kick, and the Wagyu dumplings were juicy and full of flavor. Even the cucumbers were refreshing and perfectly balanced. Everything was phenomenal, and Dragon House has officially earned a spot on our must-return list. Come hungry and order generously.. I promise you won't regret it!

So good. Best soup dumplings I've ever had. First you may approach and see and think it may be too fancy. It is not. Feels like you are in a home kitchen dining room beside served by mom or grandma. Great service. Everyone was nice and sweet. The food the food. The most amazing food. I got the Steamed Juicy Dumplings and the Szechuan Dandan Noodles. Best soup dumplings ever. Great broth and meat was awesome. The noodles had an amazing umami flavor. Fresh noodles are a great difference to soup. Had samplings of honeycomb dumplings, rangoons and Mongolian beef from around the table. Nothing disappointed at all. Will be back!

This was my first visit to Dragon House, and the food did not disappoint. I will admit, my heart was set on Nikko, but the vote was for Dragon House, and that is where lunch was to be had. When I first walked in, I was taken by the number of people. I felt like I walked into a cafeteria, one that was bustling at the seams. It was loud, and I felt the tables were a bit too close. We were quickly seated and greeted by our waitress, and our waitress was prompt with getting us started with our order. Their menu is abundant, and you don't know where to begin. I say that with excitement, there's so much, and it all looked so good as it was being served to the folks at the other tables. Alright, I heard a lot about their juicy dumplings, and that is what I went with, and what a great choice I made. Cucumber salad: This was okay, it isn't like what is offered in some other places, but it was a nice snack after packing it to go. I will not get it again. Shrimp & Pork Juicy Dumplings: These were so good, the broth and seasoning were perfection. The pork and shrimp, you could actually taste, and they had small bites of shrimp. Delicious! I will say, what took away from this dish, the dumpling was a bit chewy at the tip. Black Truffle Juicy Dumplings: These were okay, but I will not get them again. They did not compare to the Shrimp & Pork. Overall, I look forward to visiting again. There are several things on their menu, I'd love to try. I'm happy, I visited!

This has always been our go-to spot for great Chinese food, consistent, flavorful, and always welcoming. It's also not far from our home. However, during our most recent visit, my orange chicken missed the mark. It tasted a bit burned and overly crispy, with very little chicken inside. After just a couple of bites, I decided to skip the rest. That said, this place has been a longtime favorite, and one off meal won't stop me from going back. I'll just be ordering something different next time! One of the best (and most fun) parts of dining here is watching the hand-pulled noodles being made. There's a friendly gentleman behind the glass who tosses the dough through the air, sometimes even across the restaurant, and never misses! It's always a highlight. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is casual, lively, and full of great energy. Despite the hiccup, it's still one of my favorite neighborhood spots. If you go during dinner or lunch rush, be prepared to wait, as this is a very popular Southlake restaurant!

We came here on a Saturday but it was rainy so we easily got sat without a wait. We ordered the pork dumplings and hunan beef. The portions are HUGE. I tried one of the dumplings and they were just ok in my opinion. The hunan beef was good and we had white rice on the side. Wait staff was attentive and answered our questions. The kitchen staff all seemed to work well together. The inside and bathrooms were clean.

Phenomenal food. Service is always excellent, they treat you like family. Love this place

We got food to go yesterday and found a wire in the food. Not sanitary or safe. Please have your cooks pay more attention when cooking.

Stopped in on a whim while running errands and was very impressed with the atmosphere. Very fancy elegant vibes, i loved the chandeliers! There were lots of options on the menu and i look forward to returning in the future to try more things! After ordering the food came out very quick and was delicious! I got the hand pulled noodles and my partner ordered a stir fried combo dish, the sauces were very delicious and flavorful! Also the portions were large! I had lots of leftovers which was cool! Our server was kind and attentive.

Are dumplings served all day, or only at lunch?

    All day

Do they sing happy birthday to kids?

Yes! They can sing happy birthday. Just give the server a heads up that you are celebrating, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Is the Peking Duck carve on table side?

No. It's carved in the kitchen then brought out.

    Is this place halal?

Halal means a type of food and dietary practice for those who follow Muslim traditions - a similar idea to Kosher dietary laws for Orthodox Jews.

Do they accept reservations for large parties? Like 8 or more?

Yes but they don't for parties less than five unless someone is ordering Peking Duck!

Are the vegetable dumplings vegetarian friendly?

Yes! They are very good too!

    Do they take reservations?

Yes!! If you have 5 of more in your party, or if you have 4 or less people you can make a reservation with the purchase of a peking duck!

    Is Dragon House BYOB?

We are no longer BYOB! If you bring your own bottle it is a $20 fee. We do offer wine, and beer now.

Do they have gluten-free options? Are dumplings gluten-free?

Yes but not any of the dumplings

Does Dragon House offer a lunch menu? The website looks like just dinner prices.

They are not closed, they have reopened and have a great lunch menu

Making it a really good value, especially when you share a meal or if you're looking to take something home for later! When you order the teriyaki chicken, it's just chicken flavored with teriyaki, and you get a really large portion of chicken. I like my food a little spicy and found the black pepper chicken is delicious! My wife really loves their orange chicken, which apparently is their number one seller! In addition to a sods fountain with ice tea, they have four special drinks, which are a slightly higher price, but are very good... I prefer the mango tea! An important note, I've been to a number of other Pands, this one is the best one I've ever eaten at, which is probably one of the reasons we keep coming back, unfortunately they're not all this good! All the food was on the expensive side, but I heard it was good, so I didn't mine. One of the first thing I noticed was the entrees do not come with rice. There is a $1 up charge for white rice and $3 for fried rice, $5 for noodles. I have never experienced a Chinese restaurant that charged for white rice with an entree (not even PF Chang). I arrived 10 minutes after the time I was told my food would be ready. I checked in at the register and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I was told to have a seat and wait. Since there is no place to sit when waiting for a take out order, I sat down in the closet booth next to the register. After about 1 minute, a very rude lady came over in broken English and screamed that I could not sit there. I told her I was waiting on a to-go order and she just kept screaming "you don't can sit there", so I got up and stood by the front door. If my food had not already been paid for, I would have left after that rude encounter. The ambiance of the restaurant is very strange as they had a boombox loudly playing 80s music. It was so load, I felt bad for the customers who were eating at there. No way you could enjoy siting there listening to the annoying loud music while you ate. About 5 minutes later (15 minutes past the time they originally told me it would be ready) my food was ready. The food did come out very hot. I retrieved my food and took it home to enjoy. Overall the food is very basic and not worth the elevated price. The egg rolls were over fried and greasy. The spicy wonton were very bland and not spicy at all. The general Tso chicken was not good. Very small pieces of chicken, over breaded and a bland sauce. Again not spicy at all. The fried flat rice noodles were the biggest disappointment. Mushy noodles that were all stuck together. Not good at all. Overall the Noodle Works was a big disappointment. There are so many better option in the area (Dragon House or the Wok). Do yourself a favor and skip the rude staff Noodle Works.
