I tried Deccan last evening. The shrimp butter masala was very good - I enjoyed this dish. The Gutti Vankay Curry was ok, just not my thing. The Basmati Rice was light and fluffy, perfectly cooked. I had driven past this place many times and wondered if it was a restaurant or a store or what. The outside to me is confusing. The inside is plain with 4 person tables around the room. Not a very inviting inside, but I did carryout so that was ok. I was confused about the two "bug zappers" in the dining area...I did not see any bugs, but it sure made me wonder what they are zapping. this is perhaps the best Indian Restaurant in the area. A solid Indian restaurant in this neck of the woods where such options are very few. We ordered a few dishes (Chicken Tikka Kebab, Chicken Chettinadu, and Butter Chicken) and all of the flavors were on point. Our lunch order was not quite ready by the time I went to pick it up so they offered me complimentary spiced hot chai while I waited. The gent I chatted with was very nice and mentioned they are working on getting their liquor license. For fans of Indian food - you will find your "usual faves" plus many items you may not have heard of before. Food came out fast, and you get to order at the counter so it's self serve, tip optional. Place is huge, nice interior design. Food was good but wasn't special, can't compare to Irving/carrolton area. Would not drive all the way out here for it. I have many GOOD things to say about this restaurant! I love that they use authentic Indian spices, and the flavors were delicious! The place looked very clean, even the bathrooms. The server was very kind and amicable. The only reason I'm giving it a 3-star is because all of the hot food was served in plastic! I was kind of appalled but we ate it anyway, albeit cringing a little. That's not great for public health. I wish it were glass, stainless steel, or plain ceramic! I wish the to go containers were something other than foam, too, but that may be a stretch. read more

This is easily the best Indian food I've had ever in life. If you haven't been here yet you need to go asap cause this place is incredible. The unique Indian dishes you can't find anywhere in the DFW area to the beautiful art work and lighting in this community and restaurant. My personal favorite is the chicken 65 and the samosas. I always crave the masala dosa from Deccan but this time wanted to try a new dish and got the tandoori chicken daal tadka and I've never had anything like it. It was full of flavor and spice. Excellent authentic Indian food. They tend to lean towards the spicy end of things so you definitely have to tell them no spice and then you will still end up with a little bit of spice on certain things, but not enough to kill you. My favorite is the tikka masala, the chickpeas, sag, paneer, and garlic naan. read more

Walked into Deccan Spice today, I'd like to start off to say it smells absolutely delicious inside as soon as you walk inside. The bathrooms are very well kept, private and clean. At the counter there were 2 very kind gentleman who told me welcome and helped me pronounce what I was ordering because I asked how to say certain words, and took very good kind and care of me. I absolutely love the seating environment I chosen by the window with the nice warm sun. The art on the wall is beautiful as well, really makes the experience a whole lot better! Such a nice place tucked away just off the highway. Seating is absolutely comfortable and the tables are spotless and clean. Is the prices worth it? Absolutely!!! In fact I would think it would cost more for how much I'm getting!! This place absolutely is amazing, this is my new go to food spot! Everything cooked to perfection. Definitely will be back again!! I recently saw this new place and decided to give it a try, what better way to try their dishes than to get the lunch special? The highlights are: the service is quick (if you order the lunch combo) and the staff is very attentive, 2) portions are generous, 3) you can tell the difference between dishes! Some Indian restaurants have dishes that taste very similar, the difference may be in the level of spice or the type of meat and veggies but outside of that the taste is very similar; this is not the case here, I had the chicken lunch combo and although everything was chicken... everything had a taste different from the other dish! The only down side I found is that the food is very rich, which if you have a sensitive stomach it may give you a heavy feeling for several hours; between the richness of the curries and the buttery garlic naan, my stomach felt very full for the rest of the day. Please consider that I have a VERY sensitive stomach. Still, I will go back and give each of the dishes a try since the flavors were really good read more

We had a delicious lunch here. We started with samosa and chili dumplings. Both excellent with flavorful sauces. We then shared Butter chicken and garlic naan. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was velvety with just a mild kick. Both the service and ambiance were lovely. Would make a nice location for a dinner date. I found this place by accident the week prior when I went to the print shop next door and noticed this new Indian restaurant. I read the reviews and looked good so I decided to give it a try and I'm so happy I did. For lunch special, there were choices of chicken or vegetarian combos and I got the veggie combo. It came with two entrees, a side, rice, half a nan and a little dessert. I got it to go but the gentleman was nice to offer me a cup of chai tea to go also and it was good! I couldn't wait to get home to try the food. Every item was delicious and flavorful. Portion was also big, I made three meals out of it. It's halal for those who care. We stumbled across this place quite by accident and we're so glad we did. They're still very new, only open for about six months. It's very casual, and the service is relaxed in the best way: extremely friendly and helpful. But the food? Man is it tasty! The chai and the samosas (especially the onion ones) that we started with told us we were going to be eating well, and we did. Three dishes (Saag Paneer, Goat Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala) we ordered were the best of each that I've ever had, and the fourth was something new to us, Mutton Ghee Pulav, which still managed to end up being everyone's favorite dish. We had the Chana Masala, Butter Chicken and garlic naan. All were delicious. The naan was especially good, charred on one side and melt in your mouth goodness when you bit into the naan.
