Pie. Pie. Me oh my! I loooove buttermilk pie. My husband got the chocolate silk pie. Both pies had a great flavor but I think getting it right before they closed was why it was a little dry. I would love to come back and try it fresh. The shirts are adorable. fudge and cobbler is spectacular. The sweet young lady at the counter was very kind and helpful too

First time to try this gem for dessert, and we were very happy! A slice of pie runs about $6, but they are fantastic and well worth it. There's not a lot of parking on Oak St. but there are public parking lots located nearby and the whole area is worth walking around. The service was great, and the quaint little store has a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - fresh from the oven!

Wow! What happened to downtown Roanoke since I was here last? My first visits in the early 90's after the long drive to the middle of nowhere were to get great fried chicken at one of the first locations of Babes that always had a line outside the door! Between Babes, The Classic Cafe, the water tower and a crumbling building that (I think?) is now the much restored Visitor's Center and Museum, there really wasn't much more to speak of. Really impressed by the downtown area including making the newer buildings look like they've been there forever. The Oak St. Pie company is a great addition to all the other "new" options. I can only speak to the strawberry rhubarb pie which, as luck would have it, had just come out of the oven! It was delicious with just the right amount of "tang". I do believe I enjoyed their version slightly better than the other iconic Texas pie places I've reviewed before--Judy Pie (Grapevine) and The Texas Pie Company (Kyle). But you really can't go wrong with any of the three! Price-wise Oak Street is just a bit over half way between the two with The Texas Pie company definitely winning "best bang for your buck"! Worth a visit to enjoy the downtown restaurants with a stop for pie after!

Cute, tiny, shop with fudge, cobbler, pie and cookies for the taking. Pies are classic flavors, they didn't have a blackberry pie but did have a blackberry cobbler which I heated up and enjoyed. The crust was wonderful, berries were full and it was certainly sweet but not in an overdone sugar kind of way. Overall a good stop.

This is the cutest little pie shop! They have so many different options and you can get a mini pie a large large pie or just a slice. You can smell it just walking down the street and it draws you in. We went with the banana cream pie and coconut cream pie to share and they were both delicious.

Pie had good flavor (French silk) but I prefer crust, not cookie crumb choc crust. Will be back to try other flavors.

Until today I had never tried a French silk pie. Bombastic choice. You cannot go wrong if that's what you pick when you go here

So delicious. There is a good reason for the line! If you go on Pi Day, 3/14, expect the line to be extra long!

Desi Chowrastha is a Grocery store with Restaurant for casual sit down or to go…read more The online menu is massive with different sections for different type of Food. If you are new to Indian food a great place to start is Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. As you start to understand the flavor profiles you interests will grow. If you have questions you can use AI to look up what the dishes might look like and flavor profiles. Another great option is to find a friend who enjoys Indian food and they help with flavor profiles. The ready made food they keep a series of finger food, naan ( flat bread) and specialty items. Then they have a separate cabinet for cakes and sweets. I would stress to be conscious of your spice levels. My preference is hot and I enjoy the heat. When trying new Indian dishes I get mild because they blend the spices and it can seem spicer. Yogurt and naan bread can help with this. Right now, we are working our way through this massive menu trying to find that dish that calls out to us. It's a darn tasty process. Chicken Dum Biryani (Medium, $16.99) - The rice was perfectly fragrant and cooked, layered with tender chicken and spicy sauce. Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium, $14.99) - Served with rice and Tandoor Roti, the sauce was creamy, balanced, and very aromatic, complementing the grilled chicken. Chettinad Chicken Curry (Medium, $14.99) - This dish packed a punch with authentic South Indian spices, paired with rice and warm Tandoor Roti. Bold, aromatic, and very satisfying. Pickup experience: this business is very busy, and expect crowds. This is a social event as much as a meal. The pickup was smooth and convenient. The order was ready on time, and all items were packaged appropriately. Desi Chowrastha offers a reliable, authentic Indian experience in Northlake. Food: 5 out of 5. Staff: 5 out of 5. Pickup line- 4 out of 5- only for being so busy. This is on our the standard list for to go meals.

Visited Desi Chowrastha in Argyle with some friends. It's a unique spot--a grocery store and…read morerestaurant combo--but it was definitely crowded when we arrived. My friends ordered the onion samosas, chicken 65, punugulu, and onion pakora, and while their food came out surprisingly fast, the tea service was a different story. I ordered the Irani Chai, which was decent and tasted very similar to what you'd find in the Dallas area. However, the service for the tea was super slow. We, along with several other customers, had to wait in line for over 10 minutes before the staff even noticed us. It's a nice spot for a quick snack, but they definitely need to improve the flow at the tea counter!
