3 meat combo that came with 6 pork ribs, salad, potato salad, and egg fried rice underneath. Enough to feed two forsure!
    Jonathan F.

This place has tender, fall right off the bone pork spare ribs with a cumin flavored bbq sauce that are delicious! 9/10 Also ordered: 2x beef ribs for $12. 6/10 2x Lamb skewers for $12. 8/10 Cold noodles $12. 6/10 The best deal is the 3 meat combo for $25 that comes with your selection of meat (I got 3 orders of the pork ribs so came with 6 fat pieces), comes with two salads: green/potato salad (I recommend doubling up on potato salad), and egg fried rice/white rice/chow mein (I reccomend the egg fried rice 6.5/10). Definitely enough to feed two people. I feel like you can't beat a deal like this these days especially for bbq'd meats. Service is good the waiters are friendly and has a ma and pa/bbq vibe and atmosphere. Not really a Texas style bbq..I would say more Chinese bbq with cumin flavors but man those pork ribs were delicious! I'll be back again forsure highly reccomend

My bf got a recommendation to try this place out. I've never heard of it so I went along with no expectations. It's one hole in the wall joint! The place has mismatched furniture. Whatever restaurant this was previously, they kept what they felt was still in good condition and added what they liked to the place. Our seats were uncomfortable as if the cushion lost its bounce and it became hard and our table looked like floor tile but it was laminate. The glue was coming off the edge of the table so it was no longer sticking and lifted up. Maybe I should have taken a shot so you could understand what I'm trying to describe. In other words, ambiance was less than desirable. But I don't usually rate a place because of ambiance or service. So on to the food! ***OUR PICKS*** FISH & CHIPS ~ we got a huge plate of crinkle fries with some fish and a dollop of tartar sauce and ketchup. Lightly, crispy batter, but you can tell the fish was frozen. We even saw her grab the frozen fish out of the freezer which was on the side of the wall. I guess you can't expect fresh fish. I was only able to eat 2 pieces as this was heavy and greasy for my stomach. BF ate more of it and felt queasy after lunch. 2/5 SIDE OF BBQ BEEF RIBS ~ for $12, we got more bones than meat! Lots of cumin and seasoning which doesn't taste Texan though these were supposed to be Texan BBQ ribs. At least that's what was shown on window. The meat came off the bones but we did not care for the spices. 2/5 Waitress was ok. We got our food quickly since we were the only ones in the restaurant at 1pm on a Wednesday. We probably should have stuck with Northern Chinese food instead. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back. Queasy stomach for $40! I don't think so.

We had the $35 ayce, which includes soda and soy milk as well. We love the Chinese burgers, skewers and lamb soup. Everything is delicious and flavorful. They have great takeout order options too. Some items are buy one get one free! Highly recommend this place.

Personally I don't like the spices they used on the skewers or veggies. The beef skewers are so rough and chewy, not at all tender. The sesame noodles had no sesame flavor and the noodles were rougher than what I prefer. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the Chinese grilled pork sandwich. The meat is flavorful and tender. Overall, flavor profile wasn't really for me, but I think that they really bring out the flavors you'd find in Beijing.

I struggled on how to rate this place because the food was fine, but the menu is...perplexing? It's more like a 3.5 in that regard. For non-Chinese people, note that you will find neither traditional hamburgers nor Texas barbecue here despite what the sign may suggest. Just keep an open mind. It's a casual little place that sits between a dive bar and a larger seafood restaurant that appears to have spawned it. The service is decent and you can eat in or out. This review is on the BBQ menu. I got meat plate #1 with beef ribs, egg fried rice, and potato salad. I peeked behind the counter and the ribs are braised, then grilled with sauce (so technically no barbecue). These are actually pretty flavorful with perhaps a hint of cumin and pleasant chew. The egg fried rice was a pleasant surprise with that wok flavor; only egg and no other typical additions. The potato salad was fine. It's a good value for $16 in the Bay. ALERT! They have an all you can eat barbecue offer. That's right! You can get AYCE for $35, minimum 2 participants. It covers everything under their BBQ menu which includes ribs, chicken wings, skewers, and more unusual cuts like chicken heart, pig's feet, pork intestine, and duck chin.

I already finished half of the 2-meat combo - yep, worth it! Bbq beef ribs and pork ribs - several of Each type!

Texas-sized Chinese bbq platters! Plenty of fall-off-the-bone meat and plenty to eat! This is the perfect marriage of Texas style and Chinese style bbq - found right here in CA! If I were in LA, SGV, K-town, this is a place I can imagine heading to for late night eats! The box was so full that they had to staple the box shut! The interior decor was like a Texas bbq restaurant and very clean, and then it was decorated with Asian themes - awesome! While eating the Chinese hamburgers, I felt like a food ranger on those traveling shows! :-) Food Ranger Brigade!

Incredible Ro Ja Mo... juicy full of cumin and 5 spice pork $6
    David H.

The pork hamburger or Chinese name Ro Ja Ma... literary trabajares to meat and buns can't be beat especially at $6. Juicy pork with cumin and 5 spice is pure heaven. Chive shrimp dumplings is devoid of shrimp though and full of pork fat. Comatose from all the grease I consumed. Authentic Chinese food that's reasonable worth the return trip to sample all the other goodies here.

TLDR: burgers=yes, stinky tofu=no, pork rib, fried rice and potato salad=yes. Chinese food & Texas BBQ? Talk about a combo. We had to try this place out after hearing that. We showed up on a Thursday night and they had a few tables filled. No frills establishment. Service was prompt and straight forward which is completely fine with us. I tried the Chinese pork burgers, stinky tofu, and the BBQ combo (pork ribs, fried rice and both types of salads). The burgers were fine but I was blown away by them. Good seasoning overall and I like the idea but in no way did it actually reminded me of a burger. More like a good bao. The stinky tofu didn't do it for me. Personal preference, the reviews seemed great but I've never had it before and don't intend to again after trying it. It's an acquired taste for sure. Cheesy tasting. Left an aftertaste too. The BBQ plate was the star surprisingly (or not since they advertise Texas BBQ). The regular greens salad was not good though. I would opt for double potato salad because that was actually very tasty. I finished it and I don't normally like potato salad. The fried rice was seasoned well and I enjoyed it. The ribs?? Solid. Tender, juicy. Good blend with a nice BBQ sauce. I loved it. I would be back for that alone. The menu is very interesting though. So many things I want to try and will have to make time for next time! Overall, I'd be back!!

Had a to-go order on the original Chinese pork burger. It has pulled pork inside with chopped green pepper inside. I was pleasantly surprised that the meat was very juicy and the meat was not overly flavored. Since it's a to-go order, I can't say anything about the service or ambiance. The to go order was packed very neatly. Each of the burger is in its own individual bag, and then inside the box. There's no spill or mess inside.

Braised Pork Chop Noodle Soup 11/24/22
    Sandy L.

At first, I thought they had extended the restaurant. But no, they did not. They just used the old place for storage and the restaurant is still small. Service is great. Menu definitely has changed. The food portion and price are decent. The Chinese burgers are pretty flavorful, but the buns are so dry. Don't know how many days old. They should either put some sauce to moist the buns or make it fresh. The Sesame cold noodle is okay. The Grilled lamb skewers are tender, but lack of flavor. At least, put some salt on it. I totally agree with the other reviewer. Texas bbq and Chinese Burger??? Lol!!!! :)

Coincidentally, some of my friends were also thinking of coming here so we made it happen on Sunday evening. We pre-ordered the big duck and shared the rainbow salad, bok choy with morel mushrooms, sweet and sour shrimp and sweet and sour whole fish. The Peking Duck was indeed the best I've had in the Bay Area (it's crispy, rich but somehow not greasy). You get the traditional crepes (as opposed to the Bao in most places) and accompaniments. They also made a great broth with the duck bones that served as an excellent consommé. The rest of the dishes were also good - I would order that shrimp and rainbow salad again for sure. Service was OK and the restaurant looks recently remodeled. There were five of us and we spent about $55 each - an incredible value for the meal. Highly recommended!!!

We were promptly seated and we were supposed to be ordering on the tablet. Since it was our first time, we chose to ask the waiter. We found out that Beijing style is either spicy or sweet!! Yes, the Peking duck was served very ornately, some slices arranged as a blooming flower, most of the meat and the crispy skin served in a duck shaped tureen with candles in the base to keep the meat warm, steaming pancakes in a basket. Now the difference is on the plate that came with sliced cucumbers and slivered onions there is a substantial amount of ...SUGAR! Yup, apparently Beijing people sprinkle sugar on top of their duck! And nope, we skipped this ingredient. We also had green beans ( asked for non spicy ), peppered angus beef cubes and garlic ( different kind of heat, we can do this !) fried tofu plain, and combination fried rice, and crispy fried shrimp. This was a surprise, the shrimp was in the shell and nicely fried, crunchy.... BUT they were totally SWEET!! Sugar sweet, dessert sweet! Nowhere was it mentioned they would be this sweet! There were some interesting dishes we saw on neighboring tables, like the spicy chicken, but since we don't eat that spicy, we didn't order that. They offered hot pot too, but the whole party had to order the hot pot, not just one or two persons. The tables did have wells for the hot pot, so I saw people have to get up to dip and cook their meats in the hotpot broths. Not a good set up. Parking is easily found on the streets, but be warned you need to feed the meters till 8 pm even on Sunday.

I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.

The friend Chinese donut was crispy and airy, slightly oily so fryer oil may have needed to be hotter and fry cook need to slow down and let oil temp recover. Place does get busy quick and may need to wait for a table though.
