There's only 8-10 tables, with one large table. I was told this place only has one waiter/ cashier. So you need to bring your patience when you eat at Suily's Cafe. I spotted something on the menu I just had to try......"Hong Tao Yee Won Ton Soup." It is rare to find this style of Won Ton Soup in a Chinese restaurant. But Suily's Cafe has a unique way to serve it. They serve the hot soup and the deep fried won ton dumplings separately. You add them as you eat, and they stay crispy. The thick soup was loaded with egg, tofu, cilantro, mushrooms, and green onion. OMG, the soup was boiling HOT! I had to gently sip it. Then gradually I added the crispy won tons. Wow, the ten dumplings loaded the bowl. These plump won tons and the thick soup made for a satisfying meal. Price: $12.00, serves 1-2 ppl. Yes, I would definitely return if I was in the area. For years, I've been curious about Suily's Cafe, so we decided to stop by on a weekday for lunch around noon. The place only holds about 8-10 tables, give or take. It's your typical, no frills Chinese restaurant. The guy who served us was quick, efficient, and bilingual (English and Cantonese). *** O U R P I C K S *** BLACK BEAN SAUCE CHICKEN WITH CRISPY CHOW MEIN NOODLES (Hong Kong style) ~ noodles were crispy, fried well, and covered with gravy and chicken. Chicken was tender but tasted plain without seasoning. The gravy was well seasoned with fermented black beans. 4/5 STRING BEANS WITH CHICKEN ~ ordered this dish not knowing it had the same gravy as the crispy noodles. This was good, but the chicken was like the other dish, unseasoned. 4/5 SALT AND PEPPER PORK CHOPS ~ we got a mound of pork chops! But there's a lot of crispy, crunchy batter on it. And the meat was also pretty plain, seasoned with maybe only salt and black pepper. 4/5 You get a generous portion of food for $10- $15 a plate, but I feel the meat would taste better if it was properly seasoned prior to cooking. My brother told me Sullys has been around a long time. We decided to give it a try for dinner tonight. This small restaurant gets busy between walk in and to go orders and the man working the floor did a great job managing it. The price points were less expensive than other Chinese restaurants and they do give a filling amount of food. That said, we ordered the beef chow fun which just had a soy sauce flavor. My brother had a chicken over rice dish but the chicken was a bit dry. We also tried the salt and pepper chicken wings. The oil tasted odd and there wasn't any visible signs of pepper. I've been here quite a few times over the years and have even used them for catering before. This has always been one of my favorite Chinese food spots close to home in Daly City. Most of the time, their food is really on point and consistently satisfying. One thing I have noticed though is that when I place orders closer to 8pm, the quality sometimes isn't quite the same, which I honestly understand because they're usually trying to finish a rush of orders while also getting close to closing time. Because of that, I've learned to make sure I place my order earlier in the evening, and it definitely makes a difference. Came here to order salt and pepper fish for CNY 2026, it was definitely last minute, but the staff who answered the phone was super courteous and said they were open till 6:30pm. I called another place prior nearby but they said they closed at 5:00pm and when I went there it was 4:30pm, they turned me away and said no more orders because they were too busy. Anyways I will recommend Suily from now on. As this was the first time I felt they were nice and catered to my needs quickly. The staff was professional and friendly. Finally got to visit Suily's, came during the week at midafternoon in part because I wanted to avoid the rush when the kitchen gets busy. Restaurant was empty so no waiting, and just a short wait for an order of Dry Beef Chow Fun,To Go , price $12 with tax, it was good but needed a splash of Soy Sauce for my palate, no issue with the noodles, had a generous amount of beef, and sprinkle of sprouts. I visited Suily's, a staple in Daly City for quit some time. Since I now have the opportunity to experience more of their dishes again I asked if they can make one of my all time favorites, bbq pork in scramble egg over fried rice (a specialty dish that I learned decades ago, the locals go-to spot, Sam's Kitchen in Pacifica)! Mind you, this dish is not on their menu but the server was more than happy to have their chefs make it for me. The gravy had great flavor and wasn't overly salty, but what I appreciated most was that they served it over their egg fried rice, which had a noticeable wok hei that tied everything together really well. The wings were good and meaty, but I wasn't a big fan of the thick batter. While they tasted fine, it made them feel more like chicken fingers than wings, which just isn't my preference. Lazy Susan on the table tea served right when you sit sugar dispenser and red cap soy sauce bottle on the table all the signs of a classic spot done right. Last review was almost five years ago, and haven't been to Suily's in at least six months, although it may be a lot more. As you'll see from my two prior reviews, I am a massive fan of their chow mein, esp. the shrimp -- always so flavorful, noodles great al dente consistency ... til today. SO disappointed. Guys, what happened? New chef? The chow mein noodles are dry, flavorless and way overcooked. The shrimp, pretty bland. I think it's a different kind of shrimp or, at least, different preparation. I got "to go" so I'm home now, 20mins away from Suily's, and can't complain directly to the restaurant and have it remade or get a different dish. I'm not even gonna finish it, it's just so bland and flavorless. Did I just happen to come in on an off night where the regular chef has the night off? I hope management sees this review and tries to make sense of why the best chow mein in the area has become "meh." read more

My husband got a soup my child and I shared some rice and fried chicken . Classic old-school Chinese dive -- the kind you used to see all over SF and Chinatown but rarely find anymore. It's a total throwback with decades of character. Not the cleanest place, but perfectly acceptable for what it is. What it lacks in polish, it makes up for in huge portions. They're known for their rice plates, and they deliver. My wife and I shared two dishes: the beef and scrambled egg over rice (about $11) and the salt and pepper prawns (about $14). Both plates were massive, especially the rice plate. The prawns were battered and peeled -- we were expecting shell-on, but that was on us. Food came out piping hot with real wok hay, which is always a sign of legit Chinese cooking. We have been going to Suily's Cafe for years and we always find ourselves going back to get their dishes. The menu is on the wall when you enter and since we order to go often, we choose our options before ordering with the staff, who are always so friendly. Everything comes out so fast and is in such big portions that it lasts us a few days to finish. Singapore Rice Noodles - One of our favorites to get. It has a light curry flavor and is a balance of salty, sweet and slight level of spice. Typically has bbq pork, shrimp, eggs and onions which adds different flavors and textures to the dish. Stir Fry String Beans - Our first time ordering this and it was pretty solid. The beans had a good bite to them, were cooked nicely and had a nice garlicky flavor. Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs - Always has a good salty and spicy flavor from the seasonings and the jalapenos. This time though the meat pieces were either fully bone or were mainly fat so it wasn't as enjoyable to eat as before. Sweet & Sour Pork - Also our first time ordering and is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. This one surprised us and we really enjoyed it. The meat was soft, coated in the sweet and sour sauce, which paired nicely with the cooked pineapple and the crunchier vegetables. The prices are very worth it for the dishes and amount of food you're getting. Highly recommend it if you're in Daly City and want some solid Chinese dishes. read more

In the neighborhood for a recent Yelp event, I decided to place an order for takeout at Suily's. The reviews have been positive over the years and prices are very affordable. I placed an order for salt and pepper pork chops, Chinese broccoli chicken chow mein (HK style) and dry fried beef chow fun. They told me they didn't have Chinese broccoli so I opted for Choy sum. Suily's is a no nonsense, traditional Chinese restaurant. There are three men working the front and kitchen handling it all. The bill came out to a little under $40 for three items. It wasn't the best Chinese food I've had but it also wasn't the worst. I'd be back if ever in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to eat here. read more
