Looks dreamy but leaves a lot to desire This wasn't my first time at Yvonne's (it was my second) so I went in knowing the vibe. I was there celebrating a friend's birthday and left with a sour taste. First and most important, this place is not inclusive, despite them asking in advance if anyone has allergies or dietary restrictions. One of my friends had restrictions and we were told the chef refused to accommodate them. Let me add that it was simply to omit an item from a dish and we were told "the chef refuses to serve this meal without that item". She then asked about omitting the sauce from another dish and was told the same. She literally had to sit there and watch the rest of us eat all night. For a place at this price point, that's unacceptable. Yes, the restaurant is beautiful, but the layout is a mess. The entrance area is very dimly lit, the seating is extremely tight, and I couldn't even lean back in my chair without getting hit in the head every time someone walked by (which was constant). The back bar area is another issue people are seated but also standing directly in front of the bar, so trying to walk through means repeatedly saying "excuse me" just to move. Service didn't help. Servers would come out of nowhere and grab plates without saying excuse me, which felt abrupt and rude. The bathroom, very cutesy and all but was poorly maintained, the four stalls that it does have two stalls did not have toilet paper, which caused a line. The food itself was underwhelming and the portions were small, I know I know, it's tapas style but seriously? After spending more than $600 (we were 8), I still left hungry and ended up at McDonald's afterward. That pretty much sums it up. Conversations were tough to have because the place was very loud so unless you are sitting close to the person you are talking to, it was hard to hear them. After a while, it does get to you. So.... if you're just going for vibes and cocktails, and you're not hungry, this might be the right setting for you. But for a celebration, group dinner, or anywhere inclusivity, perhaps not.

We came on a Sunday night without a reservation and we were able to get bar seats. The menu is unique and the vibes are great. All of our food was delicious.. the caulilini was my favorite, but the cheese cubes are always a favorite. Bar snack popcorn at the end was fun

Loud and enchanting with a dark brooding vibe the space was electric, cozy, and crowded. The atmosphere in the first section was like an old time sitting room. Low tables and plush rounded chairs. Service was slow because it was busy and there was only one bar tender but we were in no rush. The passionfruit mule was deliciously gingery and the rose thorn tasted very floral. The wild gulf shrimp were large and flavorful. The tuna crudo was the highlight! Fresh with a light sauce, and a delightful taro crisp for a nice crunch. The king trumpet mushrooms were grilled instead of dairy buttered and they were fine. Nothing too extraordinary. Every was pleasant and a fun vibe. So many groups of people, couples on dates, friends meeting up it was a lively atmosphere.

The ambience of Yvonne's is a vibe in itself. The attention to detail is everywhere -love the playful portraits and the moody library feel. The pulsating music is energizing. Caesar, our server was outstanding! Anticipated our needs. Very efficient. Vibrant personality. A seasoned professional. But the food!!!!! Need I say more? We LOVED the food-from the chicken pita to the octopus. The flavors were truly incredible! Definitely recommend this outstanding restaurant. The whole experience from beginning to end was spectacular! They presented our check in the middle of a book to complete the library effect. Very clever. As a Yelp Elite/Allstar reviewer, I can definitely say Yvonne's was probably the best place we ate while vacationing in Boston and believe me, we went to many highly rated restaurants. Thank you for making our trip to Boston so memorable following the theater. If we ever venture back to Boston, we will definitely be back!

Absolutely would come back here and make a reservation as well. The espresso martinis were delicious. The place was packed and not very much seating was available. Lots of chatter and great individuals at the restaurant. It has a dark mood to the inside but a great place.

Came to Yvonne's for dinner/drinks before the Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House. We had bar seat reservations and were taken to the space below behind the speakeasy entrance. Yvonne's has beautiful decor/ambiance and the food was delicious. Wine and cocktails were good (however our bartender was a bit distracted and made several small mistakes/oversights that ended up being non issues but were noticeable nonetheless). Very much plan on returning again.

Food was amazing. Great service beautiful place. I took my girlfriend there last night for her birthday. We had an amazing time, strong, cocktails, and fancy food. If you're looking for something subtle, but classy, this is just a place.

Yvonne's is such an incredible spot and easily one of my favorite places in Boston. From the moment you walk in, the service is absolutely amazing--attentive, professional, and genuinely warm without ever feeling overbearing. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, which makes the experience feel elevated from start to finish. The atmosphere is stunning. It has that intimate, speakeasy-inspired feel--moody lighting, elegant design, and a sense of exclusivity--but without being hidden or pretentious. It feels fun, lively, and welcoming all at the same time. I also love how versatile the space is, with options for tables, a beautiful bar, and comfortable lounge areas, making it perfect for a date night, drinks with friends, or a special night out. The drinks were expertly crafted, made properly, and absolutely worth the price. Every detail--from the ambiance to the service to the cocktails--was on point. Thank you again for such a great experience. I will definitely be back!

Every dish was thoughtful, bold, and beautifully executed. From the crispy spring rolls with a bright, addictive sauce to the rich, comforting mains and unforgettable desserts, not a single bite missed. The atmosphere is moody and vibrant, the service is warm and polished, and the entire experience feels elevated without trying too hard. Easily one of the best meals in Boston. Five stars and already planning a return.

Pretty decor. Nice place for catchup time. Order the shrimp, tuna crudo and carrot cake for sharing. Tea comes in nice tea ware.

Celebrated a graduation here and I'm glad that we did. Everything was on point in my opinion. From the food to the ambiance, this establishment seriously impressed me. The star of the show was the food to me. I'm usually pretty good about snapping pics of the grub but I was just chowing down hahaha My favorite style is tapas and combined with Mediterranean food. This place checked both boxes so I was bound to be a happy camper. I loved the tuna and the octopus! Their meat was also sensational. Cannot forget the pita as well. There wasn't a dish I tried that I didn't fully like.

Still one of our favorite downtown Boston dining spot. Especially like the lounge seats - casual, cost, great to hang out. Variety of small plates options, and their menu changes occasionally with the classics stay - we tried and liked most dishes.

Yvonne's has fallen off. The service was so poor - for a not very busy Saturday night - it was noteworthy.

Hi! Is there a bar/lounge area where we can grab drinks without a full dinner reservation? Planning a night out and your space looks amazing.

Yes, there is a bar lounge area. I would just let the hosts know that is what you prefer.

Do they typically take same day reservations? If not, what's the minimum time ahead you would suggest calling to place one?

They do usually have some available for two tops, and one of the bars has ample standing room with high tops that you can do as walkin. I'd recommend 2-3 days ahead to be safe

What time does the club start?

What is the dress code?

Casual chic!

Do they let you add on one extra person to a reservation last-minute (one week in advance)?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Is it possible to walk in on Friday around 5ish without waiting?

For drinks, yes. For food, not likely. They book up weekends for dining/food as far as 3-4 weeks in advance. 4pm and 9:30pm are usually safer times to walk in and finesse a table as they are last reservation spots to go

Is this a good 1st date spot?

Yes! Definitely a nice place for a first date, the ambiance was amazing

You don't need an ID to get in right?

My ID was checked by the waiter.

What is the average cost per person?

It depends of how much you drink ... average is like 50 per person

Is there a dress code? Do I need to dress fancy?

You should look nice it's definitely not a t shirt and jeans kinda place

What time does the kitchen closed?

probably midnight...unsure

Can you go without reservations?

For drinks, yes (although be prepared to squeeze past people to get to the two bars). For dinner, not likely. The dining areas are usually full during peak dining times. Highly recommend reservations for food.

Can you come in for dinner if you are younger than 21?

Yes

Is there a pool table here?

Yvonnes is not a sports bar atmosphere. High class dress to impress.

Do you need a reservation to just sit at the bar? And is there a minimum amount you're required to spend?

No and no

Are there any good vegan options here?

No. There are decent vegetarian options, but none that I consider decent for vegans because of dairy-based ingredients. The sister restaurant, Ruka, about 2 minutes away, is better for vegans.

This restaurant is a 10/10. I genuinely hope to visit Boston again one day just to try more items…read morefrom their menu. We walked in without reservations and they were fully booked for the night, but they do have bar seating and a couple of side tables where you can grab a quick bite from the full menu. The ambiance is a 10/10. The decor is insane in the best way. The red chandeliers are stunning, the bar setup is perfection, and the low lighting with the table centerpieces really ties everything together. Even the bathrooms were insanely beautiful which is crazy to say but it stood out. It's rare to find restrooms that are that clean and well-designed. The drinks were great. I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got, but it had red sugar on the rim and it perfectly matched the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. For food, I got the steak taco and the fish taco and both were delicious. We were just stopping by for a quick bite before heading to the movies , but I really wish we could have stayed for a full meal because everything was amazing. Hopefully we'll get the chance to come back again one day.

Summer's here so it's time to hit up the rooftop bars and enjoy the beautiful weather! Sky Lounge…read moreis located on the top floor of the Yotel Hotel. Once you get in, there's a small lounge area on the left and then a larger lounge area straight ahead where the bar is. They have small tables with couches and local artwork ond display. For their drinks, their mixed drinks are average, but they only had 3 beers on draft which was a disappointment. They do serve some bar food and snacks, but like the drinks they're overpriced. I've been here twice and there's usually a wait for the rooftop. Once on a Saturday I was quoted up to a 3 hour wait that was actually 45 minutes and on a Sunday it was a 15 minute wait. I put my name down and got a friendly text when my turn was up. The view is pretty good, but not the best since it's not by the water so it's mostly looking at the city and large apartment complexes. The rooftop is small with 4-5 tables, a TV, and some seats. It seems like they allow around 40 people in at a time. Overall, this a cool place to hang out with friends this summer!

Who doesn't love a Penthouse bar?…read more After you enter Yotel, make a left to the elevators. Once inside, hit that shiny PF button and enjoy the ride. I like how it is set up like a lounge, where they have couches available for big and small groups. You can also just sit at the bar to grab a drink. There are also tables on the terrace, but it is not always open during the winter months. When the door is unlocked, it is worth checking out the view for a couple of minutes. The bartenders can be a bit hit-and-miss, depending on the night. I wouldn't take that personally. Just order your drink and focus on your company. They will come around like 15 minutes before closing and asking you to close your tabs. Supposedly their lobby bar stays open later than 11 PM, but my friends and I tried going then got turned away by the lobby bar as well. I have always had GIN CRAZE $14 (Beefeater gin, lemon, simple, raspberry puree). It is pretty solid.
