Place was pretty small, and the tables were pretty close together, however still enough space to have conversations. Service was neutral - it was basically order and move on with your day. We tried the beef / shrimp / chive dumpling steamed which was good and juicy but the not best texture wise. We came to visit this place after seeing all the TikTok's about how great the place was. But when we got there, the food was disappointing. The wait time was super long and was not worth the wait, as we have been to other restaurants that had better dumplings. The one nightlight of our meal was the cold noodles. The soup itself has light taste, but it integrates with meat very well helping to make the whole smooth in the mouth. This is a gem of elegance shining in the entire menu items. They take cash or debit (no credit) so come prepared. Most options are not gluten free. You have to climb down some stairs to get in (if you have mobility issues). Sooo good, a small restaurant downstairs on Huron street, just off of Dundas. We spoke English but the lady serving us was super nice and explained the dishes to us. We got the pan fried dumplings, pan fried Bao, onion pancakes, and ja jang noodles with pork. Some of the best Chinese food I had in a while, everything was a hit. I thought to myself, "I've been here before," pre-Yelp though and I remember because of the bow and arrow set on the wall. That's a very odd decoration for an XLB shop but that's fine with me and that contrast made it stick in my long term memory. The positive Yelp reviews and high ratings and the easy walk from Spadina, made this the right choice for a quick and satisfying lunch. Plus, we needed a break from Rol-San. We got a variety and they make these dumplings on-site, you'll see that in the non-uniformity in shape and size. We went with fried (you can see the gyoza wings in my pic), the "wings" connect the dumplings on the plate. We had some steamed. We had some really good Chinese broccoli sautéed in garlic. The house tea cleansed your taste palate as you prepared to have some more. Their chili oil, it appeared to be home made too. Ok, I had a rookie mistake, I bit into my soup dumpling too aggressively and the juice shot out, onto my lap. So I quickly went to the restroom to blot out the juice. By the time I got out, it looked like I had an accident. Coincidentally a lady was waiting on me when I opened the door. I felt a little embarrassed (due to the expression on her face) but I didn't want to explain myself because I wanted to get back to my XLB. So all in all, Yummy Yummy has good food and variety. My husband and I are obsessed with dumplings. Sadly, we live in Pittsburgh and there are only a few places to get good dumplings. When visiting Toronto, I was so excited to find this place. I wasn't leaving without them. Wow! We were so happy with the two different kinds of dumplings we ordered. We came for the soup dumplings which are very tough to find near us. They were good and had flavorful broth inside. Wish you had more of a choice on how many in one container you could order. Double would have been too much for two people while trying the other kind. Stepping out of the drizzle on a damp December day into the murmur of a basement dumpling restaurant filled with the smells of a wonderful lunch. It is always a good sign when it is still packed at 2:15pm. We ordered green onion pancakes, chicken with green pepper dumpling both pan-fried and steamed, hot and sour soup, and sesame noodles. The waitress kindly suggested we try Zha Jiang noodles instead as she felt that we would like them. My daughter and son said the steamed dumplings were the best they had ever had and their favorite. My wife said the hot and sour soup was her favorite followed closely by the scallion pancakes. I loved the Zha Jiang pancakes and was so pleased to have been able to try them. Was honestly disappointed with Yummy Yummy Dumplings. My friend and I came here after a long shift and I heard about this restaurant so I was excited to treat myself. I wanted to try their black bean noodles and their dumplings. So I ordered the zha jiang mian which came with a small amount of black bean sauce and pork. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings. The zha jiang mian was dry and it wasn't that good. There wasn't enough of the sauce to properly coat and mix the noodles so I was not a fan. We also got the pork and chive dumplings and the server was pushing us to buy their "fish" dumplings instead. I felt it was because it was nearing close time that maybe they made a batch that didn't sell and wanted to sell them to us. But we persisted and got the pork and chive dumplings which were okay, nothing special. The restaurant's hours outside also says they close at 10:30pm on weekends but by 9pm, the server was saying to us they closed and we had to quickly get out. The other customer also just got his dumplings 10 minutes before this closing time and 2 other customers were just coming in for a table. Better to update your hours outside to inform your customers. I also had concerns about cleanliness as I found a small hair in the noodles and I saw questionable cleaning practices. Seeing the other reviews, perhaps this experience was just a miss but I will not be returning. read more

Trust us: walking past this delightful, authentic spot is your loss. The food is fabulous, the prices are reasonable, and the people running the shop are a delight. The Xiaolong Juicy Pork Buns (known more universally as Xiao Long Bao) are the best we've found in Toronto. The dumplings are a good mouthful, the dough holds the soup inside and is a perfect, chewy consistency, and the broth and pork are out of this world tasty. If you order nothing else on the menu, be sure to order this! We tried two other dumplings: chicken, bamboo and black fungus (fried); and, corn dumplings with chicken and shrimp (steamed). Both were delicious. The next time we're back (and we'll definitely be back) we'll begin our quest to try all of the flavour and filling combinations on their extensive dumpling menu. This place is a great hidden gem for dumplings in Chinatown area! Overshadowed by juicy dumplings in my opinion but they are really good authentic dumplings they serve here! Ordered the Fried Pork and Chive own fried and Xiao Long Bao. The former dumplings were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside! It is a small place on the side of the block. We went during lunch time so it wasn't busy at all. The server was super nice and recommended us dumplings that was popular and worth the try. We ordered 5 of the juicy pork dumplings, stuffed pancakes, pork zha jiang noodles, a veggie dish, Rolled beef pancakes, and a pan fried pork with ji cali dumplings. The soup dumplings was super juicy and tasty. There was the right amount of juice in those dumplings. My friend who really wanted dumplings was super satisfied with it. The stuffed pork pancake was delicious especially with some chili oil. Spot on! The noodles was good but it can definitely use some more sauce. It was too little sauce so made the noodle kind of dry. The pan fried pork dumplings with ji cai was a recommendation from the server and we loved it! The taste was right on point! We would've ordered the boiled version if we weren't so full! I was craving soup dumplings and this restaurant has such good reviews that I just had to come here. It's a tiny restaurant down some steps, so it might be hard at first to find if you don't know what you're looking for exactly. There isn't a ton of seats, so if it's busy, you might need to wait for a table. The restaurant itself could use a huge facelift. The washrooms were dirty and very small. The whole place just feels outdated - minus the tables and chairs. I came on a busy Saturday night but was seated fairly quickly. They cleaned my table before I was seated but the dish cloth they used to wipe the table was definitely used.. my table just smelled like a used dish cloth, sadly. There were also a TON of mosquitos. We were seated right in front the of door, so perhaps this could be why.. but the most odd thing is that they would just drop onto our table and food, and almost die or stop moving instantly. Not sure what was going on.. but it ruined my appetite. ONTO THE FOOD: the most important reason why I'm reviewing! We ordered the Juicy Pork Dumplings (soup dumplings), fried shrimp & pork dumplings, & chive pancakes. The soup dumplings were just okay. The filling wasn't as flavourful as other ones that I've tried from other places. It was missing something but I can't figure out what it is. The pancakes were really good, and I wish I ate more but they were dripping I grease, so I couldn't eat more than 2. I didn't have any of the fried dumplings but my boyfriend said they were very greasy as well. We actually had to go get a drink from a bar close by just to get rid of the greasy feel in our mouths. Pretty good xiao long Bao - order steamed and pan fried. Both taste good with pan fried always has more fragrant. Personally I prefer the steam although my daughter will prefer pan fried. Price for the steamed is probably the lowest in the area. Will be better and authentic if they also serve with Chinese black vinegar or at least make it available (io. soy sauce). They have machines, but most debit cards even aren't accepted, especially if US based. ...The food, though! I had the soupy dumplings - D02 -- definitely the winner on the menu and one of the only places I know in Toronto with delightful soup dumplings. Each bite is comfortable heaven in your mouth. The pork bun / wrap deserves a mention as well. I think it's F20 and it's freaking amazing. Like a crepe rolled with beef. The F03 stuffed fresh veggies are AOK, definitely fresh and tasty...but the standout was F20 and D02. I had the Zha Jiang noodles too and the noodles were delightful along with the pork sauce - although the pork sauce is served cold while the noodles are lukewarm and it makes for a strange combo, but still delicious. If I were coming here again though, I'd order the D02 (maybe 2 orders even) and the pork wrap, which I think is F20. So good. Service can be awkward with a potential language barrier, but it works out and that's how you know the food is legit! read more
