    Chicken dumplings
    Zi C.

We came to visit this place after seeing all the TikTok's about how great the place was. But when we got there, the food was disappointing. The wait time was super long and was not worth the wait, as we have been to other restaurants that had better dumplings. The one nightlight of our meal was the cold noodles. It was pretty tasty, it is on the saltier side. The decor of the restaurant is slightly run down. You are definitely not there for the environment.

I am so glad to know that their beautiful, carefully prepared hand made Xiao Long Bao is still there! I came back to this place for "eat-in" - first time after pandemic! We ordered: D02 Xiaolong juicy pork buns E7 Pork and onion dumplings pan fried F01 Green onion pancakes Xiao Long Bao's skin was thin, holding a lot of soup inside. Sealed beautifully and no leak. The soup itself has light taste, but it integrates with meat very well helping to make the whole smooth in the mouth. This is a gem of elegance shining in the entire menu items. We liked pan fried dumplings. Not the best, but is good and juicy. I am not a fan of Green onion pancakes. I found it a bit greasy for my liking. Outside was flaky making a great textual contrast with the chewiness inside. The seasoning was perfect. What I like about here was their warm and simple customer service. It is one of these hole-in-the-wall places but homey. :)

Tried the juicy pork dumplings- wow, amazing texture and soooo juicy and flavorful- and had the pork dumpling soup - delish! I'm so glad we stopped here - it was worth the 30 min walk to and from our hotel

A staple dumpling spot in the heart of Toronto's Chinatown serving some tasty comfort food! I ordered three dishes to share: Beef and Onion Pan Fried dumplings, Pork, Shrimp & Chive Boiled dumplings and Green Onion Pancake. Both dumplings I ordered were VERY fresh and were cooked to perfection (not too salty or oily). The green onion pancake was crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. While they were busy during my visit, the server was super attentive to me and my table and made sure that my food came out quickly. The restaurant exuded a warm, inviting ambiance, fostering an atmosphere of communal enjoyment. Remarkably, the prices were VERY affordable, especially considering the generous portions ideal for sharing. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone seeking budget-friendly Asian cuisine in downtown Toronto!

Sooo good, a small restaurant downstairs on Huron street, just off of Dundas. We spoke English but the lady serving us was super nice and explained the dishes to us. We got the pan fried dumplings, pan fried Bao, onion pancakes, and ja jang noodles with pork. Some of the best Chinese food I had in a while, everything was a hit. The pancakes were so crispy, the dumplings and buns were properly seasoned without a lot (or any?) of msg. Noodles were also super delicious. I could tell that everything was homemade! If the flavours are too mild, you can add vinegar/soy/chili oil self serve. Highly recommend you try out a variety of dishes from the menu!

I thought to myself, "I've been here before," pre-Yelp though and I remember because of the bow and arrow set on the wall. That's a very odd decoration for an XLB shop but that's fine with me and that contrast made it stick in my long term memory. The positive Yelp reviews and high ratings and the easy walk from Spadina, made this the right choice for a quick and satisfying lunch. Plus, we needed a break from Rol-San. We got a variety and they make these dumplings on-site, you'll see that in the non-uniformity in shape and size. We went with fried (you can see the gyoza wings in my pic), the "wings" connect the dumplings on the plate. We had some steamed. We had some really good Chinese broccoli sautéed in garlic. The house tea cleansed your taste palate as you prepared to have some more. Their chili oil, it appeared to be home made too. Ok, I had a rookie mistake, I bit into my soup dumpling too aggressively and the juice shot out, onto my lap. So I quickly went to the restroom to blot out the juice. By the time I got out, it looked like I had an accident. Coincidentally a lady was waiting on me when I opened the door. I felt a little embarrassed (due to the expression on her face) but I didn't want to explain myself because I wanted to get back to my XLB. So all in all, Yummy Yummy has good food and variety. We were served quickly and we filled up quickly so that we could do some more shopping on Spadina. When I come back, I'll get the backstory on the archery set.

Housemade soy milk, sesame noodles, meat pancake, pan fried dumplings

Average tasting dumplings. It's ok for downtown. Housemade soy milk was nice. Seating is like a food court, which is fine. Service is average (there's only 1 lady working so they look understaffed when it's busy)

My husband and I are obsessed with dumplings. Sadly, we live in Pittsburgh and there are only a few places to get good dumplings. When visiting Toronto, I was so excited to find this place. I wasn't leaving without them. Wow! We were so happy with the two different kinds of dumplings we ordered. We came for the soup dumplings which are very tough to find near us. They were good and had flavorful broth inside. Wish you had more of a choice on how many in one container you could order. Double would have been too much for two people while trying the other kind. The Fried Pork and Chive dumplings were the winner. They were so crisp, tasty and flavorful. We liked them the best. If you love dumplings like we do, check them out while in Toronto.

Black bean noodles and sesame noodles

Pretty good Chinese spot with limited service - you write your order down on paper and hand it to them. We ordered the potstickers, black bean noodles, and sesame noodles. The black bean noodles were my favorite - delicious black bean sauce, refreshing cucumber, and thick and QQ noodles. This and the sesame noodles are served room temp/cold, FYI. Nice for a summer day. The sesame noodles were more savory than I expected as I am used to dome that are a little sweeter but this was not bad. A strong savory soy and sesame taste. We also enjoyed the potstickers, just wished the skin of it was a little thinner.

Stepping out of the drizzle on a damp December day into the murmur of a basement dumpling restaurant filled with the smells of a wonderful lunch. It is always a good sign when it is still packed at 2:15pm. We ordered green onion pancakes, chicken with green pepper dumpling both pan-fried and steamed, hot and sour soup, and sesame noodles. The waitress kindly suggested we try Zha Jiang noodles instead as she felt that we would like them. My daughter and son said the steamed dumplings were the best they had ever had and their favorite. My wife said the hot and sour soup was her favorite followed closely by the scallion pancakes. I loved the Zha Jiang pancakes and was so pleased to have been able to try them. The steamed dumplings were also the best I have ever had including in Hong Kong. I will tell everyone about Yummy Yummy Dumplings. Definitely worth the short wait. They only take cash and debit despite what their site says.

NOTE: Cash only establishment (or Canadian debit cards only). This is such a delicious hole in the wall place! We were wandering around Chinatown and made a quick trip to try the handmade dumplings. We tried the beef and onion dumplings, and the pork and celery dumplings. Both kinds of dumplings were steamed (you can get them fried or boiled as well). The service was great, and the food was amazing! Cannot ask for more!

    Emma S.

Delicious food! A great experience. Very relaxed atmosphere. We ordered several different items to share for the table which was perfect. The man running the place was attentive to each table's needs. Would definitely come again.

    Jessica L.

These are definitely good dumplings... respectable. Best we have ever had? No. But nothing here was bad! The pork soup dumplings were very good. The scallion pancakes needed more... scallions. The soup with wontons was needing something... salt? The beef and celery boiled dumplings were quite good. The star of the show was the shrimp noodles - the flavor there was fantastic. The service was good and so kind to our kids - who gobbled up everything. They take debit but not credit cards. This is a hole in the wall sort of place...you aren't there for the decor.

I was surprised that there was no line on a weekday during lunch time ~12:00, especially since other reviewers made mention of long wait times. I guess I was lucky. Anyway, since there was no line, I got my meal quickly. The soups are waiting in pots at the front, so the service is fast as they just need to scoop up your soup of choice. I got a small soup meal, so I was able to choose 2 sides from a collection of breads and fruits/veggies. I decided to go for the Moroccan Madness Vegetable Medley with sides of a multigrain ciabatta bun and apple. The soup was good, definitely fresh, flavourful, and better than your average canned soup, but I wasn't blown away. Plus, the meal was kind of pricey for what I got. For these reasons I only rated them as 3 stars. However, I'm really only basing my review on one out of many different soup options. Maybe some of the other flavours are better. I would go back to try a different soup.

I placed an order for a soup and decided to get some falafel as well. You have a choice of a few dipping sauces and I went with the harissa one. They told me it'd be a couple of minutes before it'd be ready. I stood by the windows to see what was happening on Yonge St but it was a pretty quiet night. They gave me a call out and I was off with my soup and falafel in no time. After getting back to my place, I popped the lids for my orders. The soup smelled great and the falafel looked alright. I started with the soup. It was nice and packed with a lot of flavour. It was also pretty light and what I was looking for. I took a bite of the falafel. I'm unsure how to feel about it as it felt really when chewing through it. I dipped it into the sauce and it still felt a little dry. I finished this during the hockey game and I'm glad it was close. Would grab the soup again and try other things on the menu but would skip the falafel as it wasn't my favourite thing even though the dipping sauce was nice.
