All it took was a youtube foodie video, and actual craving a good bao to come back now twice to this location. Located in the all busy Parker Place food court, right at the end, I did not know they had another location (as I knew of the Crystal Mall one) and usually I would be ordering the meat variety, but this time it was trying their popular veggie one which they even list, and show in a picture, and it comes to around 5 for $9. I wanted to try one, but that was a no go, as they do not sell these individually, so I had to take the plunge and commit to 5 buns.
There was line up when I came, and yes, this place is cash only (no plastic) and the English is limited, but what you get is fresh, hot, buns, unless you want frozen, they sell those too. So from the picture you can see the vegetarian one is loaded with chives, vermicelli and egg, and what you get is a perfect balanced medley of ingredients, and not overly doughy (you know what I am talking about) and honestly I get why they don't sell you just 1, cause you will be craving to eat another one after you devour the first one.
Rest assured these buns are good the next day, as I said, there were 5, and they sat in my fridge a few days, and the magic one touch microwave cooking brought them back to how it was on day 1 of eating these. For this economy, this place doesn't break the bank, has some options outside of just your typical 'baos' and usually the lineup moves fast.
I've already been back here as my wife wanted their buns again, and this time I bought them frozen. Just know it's not cheaper, but they come out great with a steamer when you are ready to just pull them out of your fridge and eat. read more
