Cute aesthetic cafe in Downtown Berkeley! The shop itself is small but very cute--I love the doodles they have on their menu! I tried their matcha tiramisu and double matcha when I visited. The matcha itself is pretty good quality and has a well-rounded flavor profile compared to other matcha drinks you'd find at cafes. My biggest complaint for the place would be the size of their drinks. For $8, the drink is very small... I think I finished my drink within minutes after receiving it. Their crepes look very good though and I would love to try. But due to the high price of their drinks, I wouldn't travel far to try this cafe and there are defintitely other matcha spots in the area I would visit instead. read more

Finally got to try out this spot and it blew my expectations out of the water! It's a cute spot along Shattuck. You order everything via a kiosk which was very convenient and quick! I ordered the tiramisu matcha and it was so good. The tiramisu cream was absolutely delicious and the cookie on top was a great touch! You can also taste the quality of the matcha and it's unmatched to any other spot in the area! I can't wait to try out more of their drinks! read more

Especially impressed with the consistency of the drinks' quality + branding. would love to try the crepes some time but they are sometimes sold out or not available except for a certain time during the day. not much seating here, but it's a little better that way - only so much lingering can be done. drinks come out at a reasonable speed despite them handwhisking each order one by one. read more

Yume Mori Matcha is a great little cafe! They have a self service ordering system. Each drink is made fresh on the spot so it may take a little longer but worth the wait. I ordered the hojicha tiramisu which came with their "tiramisu cream" (taste like regular cheese cream) and a biscoff cookie on top. You can adjust the sweetness level of your drinks. The hojicha tea was nice and strong in the drink. It is all metered street parking in this area. Overall I think this little cafe is worth visit! read more

For $12, you can get a tiny matcha cup that the girls "measure" down to the teaspoon to ensure customers don't accidentally receive an extra drop of milk. There was a full two inch conspicuous gap between where the latte ended and top of the cup. I asked for no ice, and instead of remaking the drink, the girl at the counter proceeded to hand me a cup that was half empty, with the ice simply gone, and has the audacity to tell me she'd "measured the milk". This is the only cafe I've ever been to that openly relies on ice to fill volume. So absurdly parsimonious it's insulting. The matcha itself was incredibly underwhelming. A business typical of Berkeley: profoundly mediocre, dilapidated, overpriced, and nonexistent or poorly trained customer service. read more

This place is a must visit! The ambience really reminded me of cafes in Japan, and especially the crepe they serve, I'll definitely have to try it next time! I really wanted to like this place, but it didn't live up to the hype. The wait time was pretty long, which I wouldn't have minded if the drink was worth it. I got the Matcha Coco Cloud and the matcha tasted very diluted almost like water and lacked that rich, earthy flavor you expect from a specialty shop. It's quite expensive for such a small serving size. The crepe was also a letdown, just mediocre and was not worth the extra wait time around 15-30 mins according to the receipt. Disappointed with my overall experience at Yume Mori as a first-time customer 1. No form of acknowledgment when walking in, no "hi" or "welcome" from the staff. 2. No one called my name or order number once my drink was ready. It was just placed on top of the counter. I find this completely upsetting now that everyone's names were being called to grab their drink, except when it came to my turn. If the staff couldn't pronounce my name, they could have said my order number. 3. As for the Iced Hojicha I ordered, I wasn't a fan of the bitter aftertaste. It's attention to details like this that can make the customer's experience the best or the worst when trying a new place. I felt completely unwelcome and dismissed--definitely not a great feeling, especially when I came in excited to try this place. read more

Unfortunately, I need to reduce my rating from previously because today was absolutely unacceptable for wait-time. I waited 40 minutes for two matchas (screenshot provided). My feedback and suggestions for improvement would be: - Be transparent about wait-time upon ordering. Give customers the option to consent to a long wait-time or not. That could be a written sign placed somewhere visible, or being told "Hi, we're a bit backed up at the moment so it could take 30-40 minutes for your drink" sets the expectation clear from the start. Otherwise, you're like me and you feel stuck: How far are you until your order is coming? Do you leave? What if they're almost done? - The shop is small, so ensuring there's enough space for customers and employees is key, especially in a time of long wait-times. Please encourage customers that after placing their order to please wait outside and wait for a text that the order is ready. Again, that could be through a sign somewhere visible or a quick comment. Currently, the interior experience feels cramped, with people waiting inside to order while others are waiting for their drinks. It leaves no room to keep the space clear for ADA and safety measures. read more

Yume Mori Matcha is delicious and adorable! This little shop is located on Shattuck, and it has some outdoor seating available. They have lids and straws available at the counter. Their service is fairly quick, although the crepes took a lot longer than the matcha to come out. The longer wait was definitely worth it. I ordered a crème brûlée crepe with strawberry toppings. I wish there was more crème brûlée, the sweet crunch and mix with the matcha is to-die-for. For a moment, we were worried we paid an extra dollar for the single strawberry on top but there were also strawberries mixed into the crepe! The crepe was easy to share and eat, the wrapping comes off easily and does not stick to the crepe. If you're a matcha lover or even just a fan of crepes, you have to try Yume Mori! read more

decent new matcha place worth a visit! the space: this is mostly a grab and go place. there is minimal seating inside and outside. there are no public restrooms. the process: you order from a screen. drinks are $7.75. love that you can select between oat milk or reduced fat milk without an added cost. you can select no sweetener added or yes sweetener, nothing in between. the menu: they only serve matcha and hojicha here. they serve matcha crepes on weekends only from 1 PM until they are sold out. it's a small and simple menu, and each drink is made to order the review: I love the strong matcha and hojicha flavor in the drinks. the tiramisu and matcha foams on top of the drink are suuuper tasty. knocked off one star because the drinks were way too sweet, almost to the point of being undrinkable at certain layers. next time I will opt for no sweetener in the drink read more

I'm so happy they opened this up right by campus! The storefront itself is quite small, not. lot of seating. But it's cute and I loved seeing the workers make each drink. They measure the matcha every time and their drinks are always consistent. I tried the tiramisu matcha and the hojicha ichigo. While the matcha was high quality and very good, I was a little disappointed it didn't taste at all like tiramisu. The hojicha however was fantastic!! I'd definitely come back for it. The drinks are on the pricier side (around $8-9) but I'd definitely still check it out if you haven't yet! read more

Personally, out of the regular matcha places I go to, this one takes the crown. Despite the process of waiting in line, ordering, and receiving our order being almost 45 minutes this place was worth the wait. The lobby is small and it can get crowded really quick during peak hours so be aware. This place is definitely quality over quantity because their cups are smaller than other places but is 100x better. I'm left wanting more as soon as I finished my drink. The cream on top was divine on both drinks and the cookie is a nice touch to scooping up the cream. I definitely would keep coming back but it's too far for me to go here regularly. Also shoutout to the workers for working hard and fast in that small environment. read more

Staff was also friendly, and you order through a kiosk. The inside is very cozy and pretty, it's a bit small and is mainly meant for a to-go type of place. I know they are also known for their crepes, but this time I got the matcha tiramisu drink. I loved the biscoff on top and how creamy it was. I do think the size is a bit small for the price ($7-8), and it was a bit heavy/I couldn't taste the matcha very much. It is a small place with no sitting inside and you order on kiosk. When we got there, it wasn't that crowded but later on people lined up out the door and it was hard to find space to wait inside. Even though there weren't that many people in front of us, we probably waited around 20 mins to get our matcha. I assume people behind us had to wait way longer. I would say the drink itself was not sweet at all, which I liked. However, it didn't wow me and I didn't think it was worth the wait. 10/100. 2 options of ceremonial matcha to chose from, Mie, Shizuoka, and 1 Hojicha option, Uji. Went with Shizuoka which is described as having a delicate sweetness with a low bitterness. If you want the whipped topping (aka einspanner) get their specialty drinks with their tiramisu topping. There's no tiramisu or espresso flavor (this description thru me off for a second). Great matcha flavor with a generous amount of whipped topping. It comes in 1 size (small) but it's plentiful given the matcha is ceremonial grade. I really came here for their creme brûlée crepe because I always crave this when in LA (Millet Crepes, IYKYK). Glad we tried both the matcha and creme brûlée, so good! But now I need to go back to try the other 2 (tiramisu and strawberry). Their strawberry matcha looked amazing too! read more

High quality matcha and perfect servings! This place is one of many new matcha shops to arrive to Berkeley but stands out amongst the rest. The presentation is beautiful, the staff are graceful and kind, the drinks are not overly sweet and let the matcha shine. Highly recommend trying it, although lines get long it moves quickly and drinks come out at a great pace! I do recommend coming before 1pm if you want to try the crepes. Every time I've went I went after 1pm and they were sold out already. Looking forward to trying them another time. read more

Love their little shop it's a great place to buy housewarming gifts. I've been coming here for a few years and as a nanny, my only gripe is it's digital or card payments only. I know it's common in the Bay Area because of theft, but I've never been able to wrap my head around businesses not taking the national currency- if they took cash I would come in much more often.

It was an unexpectedly warm day, so I stopped in for an iced caffeinated beverage. I was indecisive when it was my turn to order, so the barista recommended the orange blossom matcha sparkler. This sounded intriguing and refreshing, so I decided to give it a try. My beverage was prepared about two minutes after I ordered it, and I was immediately refreshed after the first sip. The orange blossom flavoring was very subtle and provided just the right amount of sweetness and floral essence to counter the matcha's bitterness. The fizziness made this a perfect drink for a hot day. I've tried Mind Coffee's espresso on a prior visit, and I can now say they succeed in both the coffee and matcha categories.
