This is easily one of the best matcha spots around! What sets them apart is how customizable each drink is. On top of their signature menu, they offer 7 different matcha varieties to choose from depending on your personal taste profile. The staff actually take their time meticulously whisking every single order right in front of you, which adds such a special touch to the aesthetic environment! Their sweetness levels are super balanced, so opting for regular sugar turns out perfect without masking the tea flavor. The Koku matcha is my absolute favorite so far because of how delightfully balanced it is, and ordering it as a tiramisu matcha with oat milk is an absolute must-try.

I love this place 10:10 Matcha was just right. If you like a natural earthy flavor matcha this will be the place for you

Tiny storefront that serves a zillion permutations of matcha & hojicha. Pretty popular.. Inside you'll find a busy casual vibe with the usual white and natural wood aesthetic as are most of these matcha shops. Have you heard about the "Tyranny of Choice"? Faced with too many choices, people tend to be disappointed in whatever they chose - kind of a buyers regret/FOMO rolled into one. Well, that IS a factor here at Yume Mori Matcha, because there are SEVEN matcha powders to base your drink on, as well as two different bases for Hojicha as well. Nevertheless, we put our big boy pants on and made our bets.. Winner - I was very pleased with my Hoji-Ko Strawberry Hojicha which had some nutty overtones on top of the moderate sweetness (set to half sweet). We also tried the Koku-based Matcha at half sweet. Both were pretty good and strong. It's pretty decent. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Came on a Saturday an hour before closing and there was 20 min line. What I like about this place is that you can choose your own matcha powder. I probably wouldn't know the difference but thats really cool. Yuzu Miso matcha (5/5): Got this with the Nami matcha. This drink was a blend of so many unique flavors. There was the sweetness from the nami matcha, the earthiness from the tea, the richness from the miso, and the sour from the yuzu. Probably my favorite matcha place in Berkeley

I need to come back on the weekend to try the crepes! Super modern and whimsical matcha shop. I like the variety of the different kind of matcha they offer The drink menu and options to add a biscoff cookie are unmatched. For my first visit I had the Yuzu Miso Matcha and it was so so good. I adjusted the sweetness to less sweet but I could have went with regular or medium sweet. I'm the type of person that normally doesn't go for sugary drinks too. You order from a kiosk and get a text notification your drink is ready/. I didn't wait long at all.

The Matcha Coconut Cloud was absolutely delicious and so aesthetically cute! I ordered 5 drinks and was pleasantly surprised by how quick the service was. Everything was easy and efficient. Parking can be a little tough, but definitely worth the visit if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other drinks!

Had an even better experience here the second time around! Loved trying all the crepes (grateful to have gone with a few friends) and different drinks. HIGHLY recommend the Crunchy Choco crepe--the raspberry at the bottom is fire. The Matcha Crème Brûlée still reigns superior for me tho! The rich matcha flavor and creaminess are The team behind the bar are super efficient and work quickly to send out your orders. Super friendly as well. Really appreciated their ease in accommodating for my reusable cup! Looking forward to many more drinks & crepes here (:

I have to say, that when cafes ask you to pick out the matcha, I tend to be disappointed. I wish that cafes would just preset their base matcha but I get the business model. I wasn't wowed by their matcha, but it wasnt the worst I've ever had. Just a tad over hyped. I do want to try soft serve next time thought. They only serve it during certain hours of the day and we had came just right after the cut off.

I can see why there is always a line for this matcha spot! Many variations of matcha drinks, including different bases (coconut water, americano style, milk) and flavor (yuzu miso, strawberry, honey lemon, tiramisu etc) They also have crepes and soft serves available. The coco matcha cloud was refreshing. It was also slightly creamy and sweet from the matcha foam on top. The matcha tiramisu was creamy from the addition of mascarpone cream. It was the perfect kick of caffeine disguised as a sweet dessert. For this drink, it comes with your choice of matcha. There were over 5 varieties of matcha with various unami, earthy notes, bitterness levels etc. Great spot for a matcha! There aren't many seats to sit and chat with friends -- 2 thin wooden benches inside and 2 tables outside. Ordering is through a single kiosk.

With all the new matcha spots in the bay, there's tough competition for a sweet treat. Yume Mori definitely hits the spot :) It's a small shop with a couple of tables/chairs outside and kiosks to order from in store. Ordering was pretty quick but one unique thing is that you're able to pick what kind of matcha or hojicha you want. I liked that each of the teas had tasting notes next to the menu so you know what you're choosing. I ordered a matcha float and it was so yummy. The matcha was earthy and a tad bitter but the soft serve sweetened it perfectly. The soft serve had a strong matcha flavor but was more on the sweet side and had an icy consistency (my fave lol)

Veerawan T.

I was very impressed with their different matcha options including their dessert! You would have to self order through the tablet but staff is always there for any questions if needed. I had taken their recommendation and tried their matcha powder (yuga). Tried their specialty of their YuzuMiso Matcha - unique and refreshing. I also really enjoying their matcha crepe (Ichigo) that came with cream and strawberry. Truly a classic and I wouldn't want it in any other way. I would definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area

09.28.2026. double matcha (miki), reduced fat milk, medium sweet. 7.95. banana milk hojicha (hoji-ru), reduced fat milk. 7.95. These were really good. The matcha cream is lightly sweetened to give the entire drink a nice subtle sweetness without losing the depth of the matcha. The miki is indeed light and floraly but with a good matcha flavor. The banana hojicha was also really good. The sweetness of the banana milk went perfectly with the roastiness of the hojicha. I'd definitely come back for these drinks again but $8 for a smaller drink is a little steep. The cafe itself is super cute but super small. Only seating is outside, so not really a viable work place.

I am visiting from Hawaii and decided to try this Matcha spot. First things first, parking is limited. You will be lucky if you land a parking spot, which we did. This place was obviously a popular spot because the traffic was busy and there was a line. When you get inside, it's very minimalistic. They have an ordering pad and I ended up getting the Matcha Tiramisu. The wait is about 5-7 minutes for your drink. Once I received my drink, all I could say is WOW. That drink was crazy good! It was topped with biscoff cookie which balanced out the earthy taste. Overall, I would come back here again. 5/5 recommend!

I've visited elaichi twice since in the area already and I plan on going back again. My first visit was on a Monday morning with a friend. I ordered the Banana Chai Einspanner (chai with banana sea salt cold foam) with oat milk and the Aloo Tiki Paratha Roll (potato fritter with cilantro chutney, red onion and garlic yogurt). My friend ordered a hot latte and the Paratha Quiche (tomato, red onion, Serrano and cilantro). We also shared a piece of Pistachio Cake. The Banana Chai Einspanner is simply the best drink I have ever had in my entire life. I am truly not kidding. It is so decadent, smooth, spicy, fresh. This is the best drink to grace this plant. My friend was really happy with her latte as well. I wouldn't say it strikes the "classic chai" chord, as this is incredibly sweet, so if you're looking for that, I would select a more basic option on the menu. It's also worth noting, the Banana Chai is a seasonal option for the summer. As for the food, everything was delicious. The Pistachio Cake was moist and had such great flavor. The crusts on both of our savory dishes were so flaky! I visited again on a Tuesday morning (yes the next day) and ordered the Banana Chai Einspanner once again and the quiche. Both were as delicious as the first time around. And the product isn't it all. The staff at elaichi are incredibly friendly. Even when the shop was busy on the Monday morning, we were taken care of with respect and care. I can tell the staff also have good relationships with those in the community. The atmosphere of elaichi is also lovely. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and a raised countertop for folks who want to work but stand up. This is a must visit!!!

Beautiful cafe shop!…read more Coffee was super good! I've gone to bu ch of spots so I'm super pleased with the service, the place being so clean and friendly. Highly recommend to visit.

Hello, my fellow café junkies…read more I LOVE little cafés. I will happily spend my hard-earned money on an overpriced chai latte while sitting somewhere cute pretending I have my life together. So when I say I'm definitely not coming back here, just know it pains my café-loving heart. First, let me give credit where credit is due: the atmosphere is GREAT. Super cute. Super cool. Great little hidden spot. The service, however? SucKs--with a capital K. ‍ Here's how my first--and probably last--visit went: 1. We ordered THREE chai lattes: two hot chai lattes and one iced chai latte with oat milk. Pretty straightforward. Nobody was ordering a 14-step potion from Hogwarts. 2. We received only two drinks. So, channeling my inner Karen from Boyle Heights, I politely went back and said, "Excuse me, we ordered THREE chai lattes." 3. They told me they hadn't charged me for the third drink. Okay! No problem. I work my ass off. I don't mind spending money. Charge me, hermana. Let's get this chai flowing. 4. I took a sip of my supposedly hot chai latte and immediately my taste buds sounded the emergency alarm: NOPE. THAT'S COFFEE. 5. I looked at my husband suspiciously and asked, "Is yours chai or coffee?" He took his first sip and said, "This is coffee." At this point, the chai lattes had apparently entered the Witness Protection Program because nobody could find them. 6. I went back. To their credit, they were perfectly willing to remake the drinks. Thank you! And when we finally received the two hot chai lattes, they were actually GOOD. Crisis temporarily averted. 7. THEN I looked over at my friend holding the supposedly iced chai latte with oat milk and thought, Wait a minute... "Taste yours." He takes a sip. "This is coffee." GIRL. THREE chai lattes ordered. THREE chai lattes misunderstood. At that point, I wasn't ordering beverages anymore. I was participating in a listening-comprehension assessment. ‍ The person taking our order seemed rushed, distracted, and all over the place. And listen--mistakes happen. I teach for a living. I have patience. But when every single drink in one order is wrong, we've moved beyond "oops" and entered performance art. No manchen--venimos a gastar, no a pendejear. ‍ So here's my recommendation: If you're particular about actually receiving the beverage you ordered, you may want to try another café. Or, if this place has an app, USE THE APP. Let technology translate "chai latte" into "chai latte" because apparently the spoken version is giving everybody trouble. Better yet, buy your drinks somewhere else and bring them here. Then you can enjoy the cute atmosphere without participating in Chai Latte Roulette: Will It Be Chai? Will It Be Coffee? Nobody Knows! The place is called Hidden Café, and after today's experience... I can see why it's hidden. Cute environment? Absolutely. Would I trust them with another three-chai-latte mission? Esta mamona la cosa. Hard pass. ‍ Come for the atmosphere. Bring your own drink. And may the odds of receiving what you ordered be ever in your favor. Signed, A recovering Chicana Karen from Boyle Heights who just wanted her damn chai.

I got the pink bourbon from Palestina, Colombia that had notes of pink lemonade and rhubarb. I like my lattes to have a little more character from the beans but well made. My favorite thing about it was actually the temperature. It wasn't crazy hot so you could actually enjoy it instantly. Some may want it hotter but for me it was ideal. They do have seasonal drinks including a pumpkin spice latte for fall and solid selection of non coffee drinks. The almond croissant I had (not baked by them I don't think) was good but a bit too crispy and over baked . I think I have been spoilt by the very excellent croissants of San Francisco and have yet to find an amazing one in the East Bay but it was clearly made with good butter and lots of almonds. Plenty of seating although every inside table was taken by people; some outside tables were open. They also have a solid selection of local beans for sale. Additionally, they're the only place I've ever seen across the US that is showcasing any coffee grown in China which is nice to see as that allows more exploration into how the terroir affects the taste of coffee For my first time here I came with a small group of coffee enthusiasts so we tried a selection of their Alo Main Station (notes of Sweet Orange, Bergamont, and Peach Oolong Tea), Finca Santa Maria (notes of Cherry, Mango, and Berry Jam), and Lerida Loma Washed (notes of White Floral, Mandarin Orange, and Longan) Each cup was uniquely different from each other but arguably the most enjoyed was their cheapest option in the Alo Main Station at $9. Each cup seemed completely different and may seem pretentious to say but they did have sweeter notes that you'd be very unlikely to taste from your well known coffee chains. This place definitely caters to the coffee enthusiasts in a way where even my group wasn't quite near the level of but it had a great atmosphere, nice outdoor seating, and staff who were very passionate about their craft If anything, I would probably come back as they do elevate coffee for those who are unaware of coffee coming from China but that coffee doesn't need to taste bitter, burnt, or chocolatey. The cups here were more like tasting a mellowed fruit juice but it just happens to be coffee. That said, unless you are eager to try specialty coffee this place may seem overpriced as their pour overs are between $9 - $25 which heavily differs from most other coffee shops. Having Masterpiece provide a glimpse of the specialty coffee scene within the Bay Area is still a welcome blessing as it has a similar vibe to specialty coffee shops you'd experience in Asia

I'm old fashion and typically love a classic latte or black coffee but decided to be adventurous…read moreand try the Kuro. Since my husband was doing an iced Shiro, I went with a hot version of the Kuro. We both got whole milk rather than oat milk. While I loved both options the Kuro was definitely my favorite and did not disappoint. There's some seating options outside to enjoy your coffee and tons of vintage items to browse through inside while you wait for your coffee.
