Torched salmon, regular salmon, tuna mayo, kimchi fried rice, spicy crab
    Maggie G.

Been seeing everyone posting about these and decided to give them a try! These were delicious but not amazing, they kind of taste like what you expect them to taste like lol. Other than these tofu pockets being very photogenic, they are also pretty expensive 6 pieces for $30. What we ordered: Kimchi fried rice (flavourful + runny yolk) Spicy crab (juicy and fresh) Torched salmon (good but salmon to rice ration was lacking) Tuna mayo (a little too sweet) Regular salmon (really liked the bit of uni, could be better with soy sauce and wasabi) The tofu pocket itself is very thin and not chewy or bouncy compared to your regular inari sushi. Kinda feels more like a sweeten beancurd sheet. Would I come back? Possibly I did enjoy them but not sure how often I would want to eat this, ill rather eat regular sushi.

First time trying tofu pockets. This is their third location and they recently opened March 202. The current promotion is buy 3 get 1 free. The free one is limited to 3 options only. We are salmon lovers so most of the ones we tried were salmon flavoured and for the free one we chose the egg. They are a good snack about $3-$5 each plus tax. This is a take out spot with one table and no chairs. It is self serve with a machine to place the order and a few workers . Overall, it was decent. I did wish they were warmed up a bit because they are all room temperature. It reminded me of an onigiri. The tofu skin had a hint of sweetness which was interesting.

We stopped in for a quick grab and go lunch during à Pokemon GO community day. Yubu shares their space with 3 other food vendors, kinda like a mall food court style. There is little to no seating so plan to take your food elsewhere to eat. There was, however, a microwave you could warm up your tofu pockets in which was nice. We got gochujang salmon (meh), kimchi fried rice (good), bulgogi (good) and buldak (good). They were pretty filling but at $4+ per pocket, it's not something I would often go for seeing as I could walk a few doors down to pho metro and get a large bowl of noodle soups for less than what I paid for 4 of these. It's a cute concept but I would probably come back Herr only if someone else was craving yubu pockets.

Woohoo new location!! Located near the back of the Skycity Plaza, this location of Yubu is part of the food court, take out only area. You order via a kiosk and they pack up the order for you right away. Currently they have an opening special where you can get a free tofu pocket for every purchase of 3. The prices vary depending on which topping you get but range from $4-5/ea. the free one can be selected from any four from the bottom shelf (kimchi tofu, seaweed salad, tuna mayo, or egg. I ended up getting the kimchi fried rice, bulgogi, and buldak (super spicy). Overall I really enjoyed each pocket. They were stuffed with rice. The kimchi fried rice one was the only one not plain white rice on the inside. They do recommend you microwave for 30 seconds or so before consumption and they have a microwave there for you to use. The bulgogi was done well and I loved the sauce. The buldak was quite spicy but it was fun haha. Just note the clear lid is not really lodged in place so take care when transporting or moving each container!!

There were so many options to choose from..I was so indecisive!! My friend and I decided to share 4 pieces (will def need to come back again to try out the other flavours). You order from their touch screen menu which I found convenient. I was surprised they still had many options available since it was already late afternoon. I got (in order of favourite to least favourite): kimchi rice, spicy crab, bulgogi, torched salmon. They recommend to microwave for 30 seconds but the ones I order came out fresh and warm so I didn't need to. At first I thought it was going to be plain rice with different toppings at first but I like how part of the rice had sauce or was slightly marinated. It was love at first bite! For 4 pieces, it came up to almost $20 which I thought was a bit pricey butttt I really enjoyed it and would def come back again!

So good!! If u didn't know this is called yubuchobap - Korean style unari sushi. AKA Tofu pocket style sushi. It's literally a meal. 4 of these and away you go. But you'll be back to try more cuz they have a plethora of options from crab salad to torched salmon, seaweed salad, buldak which is supposedly super hot. Kimchi fried rice was my fave. And then the beef Bulgogi. Try it it u wont regret it. Great service. Great food.

Food and service was good. However the price point was définitely very high and not worth in my opinion. We went for soft opening promo rich meant we got 1/4 pieces free. Think about each piece being $5 and able to be eaten in 1-2 bites. Paid 17~ after taxes for 4 pieces with the promo. Without the promo it would've been more like 24$. I think going to a sushi place would be much more bang for your buck.

Tummy n delicious tofu pockets. Got a bulgogi, mushroom, scallop, kimchi egg, shrimp and spicy salmon

The yubuchobap (Korean-style tofu pockets, similar to inari sushi) are aesthetically pleasing, colourful, and certainly Instagrammable. I like the soft rice inside and delectable toppings.

April 2, 2023 - Went here for a snack before heading to see John Wick 4. My friend ordered set 3 and I ordered set 4... it's a bit expensive... but I really enjoyed it. Also the staff said it's best to microwave it for 30secs. I microwaved my set and only one side got warm.. when it's warms it so good. Cold was okay too. But next time I might warm it for longer or maybe individually. My friend ordered: Spicy Salmon, Salmon and Torched Salmon I ordered: Buldak, Gochujang Salmon, Spicy Salmon and Torched Salmon My friend said it's was good, but it wasn't enough for him. I enjoyed my set and definitely will go back soon and order again.

While these look small, trust me, they are very filling! It was my first time at Yubu and there were so many options. I asked the CSR for their recommendation, and they told me about these 4. And they certainly did not disappoint. If you're into more traditional sushi flavors, I highly recommend both salmon types. But if you're looking for a different flavor profile, both the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice with egg are great options. I personally was impressed by the kimchi fried rice. While there was a bit of heat in comparison to the others, it wasn't overwhelming and was very flavourful. The small egg compliments it well. I look forward to going back and checking out the other flavours.

Foodie day... been trying new foods all day! But I stumbled upon this restaurant, and I was captivated by the unique touch of tofu pocketed sushi. I ordered the salmon combo, it was okay. To be honest, it just didn't hit the mark for me... the flavour was meh. It was pricey with a drink, $24 for the sushi and drink. I think I could have still eaten more after this. Oh and also they are premade already..

Packaging is cute, base looks like a wooden finish touch

The broth wasn't very salty but still flavourful and once you let the peppers steep into the broth, they add a lovely spicy kick. Another substantial dish is the steamed pork bo saam ($49.99 for large) where slices of pork belly are kept warm on a hot plate. Diners tuck these soft meat slices into lettuce, Napa cabbage, and turnip with a smear of the savoury bean sauce for a protein packed bite. Our table was split about the haemui pa jeon ($28.99). The size of a medium pizza, it's made for a group. Personally, I found it way too thick and didn't contain enough ingredients to balance out the doughiness of the Korean style pancake. Conversely, my relatives preferred the heft as it contrasted the crispy exterior and soft interior. I guess it depends if you're a thin versus pan crust type of pizza lover. I'm firmly in the Neapolitan camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the crust that develops on the bottom of yachae dolsot bibimbap ($18.99). And the hot stone rice bowl contained a good combination of ingredients to ensure there was plenty of vegetables and beef to go around. De Chou's LA kalbi ($34.99) was rather neutral with very little sauce, so you mostly taste the beef. I personally would have preferred more sauce to help caramelize onto the beef ribs, but the older members of the family appreciated the plainness and liked that it was tender. We came on a weekday for lunch and decided on the lunch feast for 2. One thing that I immediately noticed was different than other Korean bbq places was that they seem to have internal ventilation within the grills at each table as there is almost no smoke in the restaurant despite many grills going on. This gives the restaurant a higher class feel and your clothes don't smell like bbq meat by the end of your meal! In terms of the meat, these were the stars of the meal. The pork belly had a nice fat that crisped up on cooking. The collar was tender and meaty that developed a good crust on grilling. The flat iron steak was soooo tender and juicy. Similarly, the picanha was meaty with good flavor though a big firmer. The banchans and lettuce were fresh. We got kimchi, spicy cucumber and onions, pickled onions, cabbage and jalapeño peppers, pickled sheets of radish and honey glazed sweet potatoes. All of which were tasty and go well with the bbq meats. On the side is a dish of sauces that include what looks like a sweet brown sauce (to me had minimal flavor relative to everything else), fresh wasabi - really great accompaniment to the beef and seemed more authentic than normal horseradish like wasabi, and a red sauce that reminds me of sauce that goes on bibimbap. The lunch set also comes with your choice of pork or beef kalguksu which is like a home made noodle dish in a stew. Very enjoyable to have to contrast the bbq meats. For us, our meal ended with melona popsicle which they have a variety of flavors. Price: 70$ pre tax and tip for lunch special which was well worth. Bring cash for a 5% discount.
