It has always been and especially now continues to be a first rate transmission and auto repair business. The work done by Gerard and his team have always been high quality and more than fairly priced. I've requested and received repairs beyond the transmission and have always been impressed with the knowledge, expertise and good nature of Gerard and his colleagues. Superior is a most appropriate name for this shop. I highly recommend it and will continue to give them my business.

Where to begin…read more... It all started when the transmission on my high mileage Infiniti went bad. After talking to several local shops, and working out that their prices were well out of my budget, I consulted Mr. Lee. Let me tell you something... his hands down, no nonsense approach is next to none. He didn't sugarcoat anything and told me what was exactly wrong with my trans and what to do. He dismantled and rebuilt the entire thing, changing out worn out gears, installing a new valve body, torque converter, flushing, and even installed a new cooling system specifically for the transmission. And the best part... he was the cheapest one! Experience and track record say a lot and Mr. Lee is as experienced as they come, and will definitely let you know about it. His knowledge and wisdom of his craft is the equivalent of watching a painter with a brush. Most shops won't go to the lengths that Mr. Lee does and with more than 50 years of experience in transmissions and automotive work, there isn't a shop in the DMV that can compete with that. Lee's transmission is exactly the kind of mom and pops shop you can depend on. Reliable, honest, and fair. You can't beat that. Do not hesitate to see him for your transmission and vehicle needs. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Moshe saved our Subaru -- and saved us thousands of dollars…read more Our 2019 Crosstrek died after rodents chewed the electrical wiring (outdoor parking in DC, go figure). We towed it to the Tysons Subaru dealership where it was purchased, thinking they'd do the best job. The dealership took 3 WEEKS to even get us AN ESTIMATE, and they wanted to replace the ENTIRE electrical system for NEARLY $6,000. We wanted a second opinion. A friend recommended Moshe's Auto Care -- backed up by stellar reviews. When we called, Moshe was kind and honest. He couldn't give us an estimate without seeing the car, but having decades of experience, he couldn't imagine charging thousands for rodent damage. The car was towed to Moshe, and he started work immediately. He was able to repair -- not replace -- the wiring, for LESS THAN $400. And he did it in half a day. We finally had our car back, fully functional, within hours vs. weeks. Dealership: 3 weeks, nearly $6,000. Moshe: 3 hours, under $400. One is roadside robbery, the other is the kind of honest service that earns customers for life. I'll only go to Moshe from now on!

However, sometime within the last six months they have changed ownership and management and I do not like either. Previously you could get an oil change done on a Saturday for $33 and get your car back in an hour. I went with my sister and it took almost 3 hours to get her car back (despite the # of people in the waiting room not being significantly more) and was now $53. Plus when they have her the keys back they tried to tell her she needed to get a major service done....even though she had already had it done on her car. Overall with the new ownership in place I will NOT be going back. It felt like they were just trying to scam you.

Even the tow truck driver mentioned he's had multiple issues with this location--which, unfortunately, echoed my own experience. I was already giving them a second chance after they replaced the clutch on our Mini Cooper. That job wasn't done properly either--the car wasn't reassembled correctly, and we had ongoing problems afterward.

I saw some good reviews for this location, so I drove by on a Saturday right before they closed and chatted with the owner, Brian. He hopped in the car and drove 1 yard, immediately told me what he thought it was, and warned me to avoid driving the rest of the weekend as grinding the wheel in extreme heat was risky. He said to come back first thing Monday morning to get it lifted up and properly examined. Came back Monday and the team figured out I needed to replace the caliper and brakes. Price was fair and they said they could do it same day within 3 hours, so I let them work on it and had them do an oil change as well. I'm very grateful for Brian and his team, taking the time to explain what was actually needed and why, and not overselling me on additional services. I'm so glad I finally found a new trusted mechanic! Will definitely take my car to Brian and the team for all future maintenance services.

Brian estimated that he could have my car fixed within a few days. The whole job took one week because he found other significant damage in the interior of my car which I didn't know about. Overall he communicated well, asked if I wanted to fix everything and had such a positive attitude. Also they do excellent work for a reasonable price. I almost wanted to keep this gem to myself but the world (or Silver Spring) needs to know where to go for superior auto care whether mechanical or auto body. They also cleaned the interior of my car. I don't want to come back for anything other than oil changes but if I need a job done in the future, I know where to go.
