I went to this great auto shop terrified I would be charged an arm and leg to work on my car which was sounding like I had opted out of having a muffler. This place is amazing, the owner and his daughter are beyond friendly and when I tell you the prices are sensible I mean it !!!! They were able to fix my muffler and caught where I was leaking oil from an oil change done from one of those chain oil shops . I will be back with any further car needs read more

We needed all four brakes (pads + rotors) replaced and some Check Engine light codes deciphered and remedied (aka, please fix the things that are wrong with my car) on our 2012 American-make vehicle. $1450 later, they replaced three brakes, one of which apparently had the caliper improperly reattached, which started shredding the new brake pads just 500 highway miles into a roadtrip the day after the work was done -- the wheel was smoking and thumping against the rotors so we could not drive over 25mph. This resulted in a partially destroyed caliper = another costly repair once labor was included, not to mention being broken down on the side of an Alabama byway. The Check Engine light remedy? "There are a lot of codes - we can't fix it all, but it is just small things... you should be fine" is the response they gave us, and they sent us away with the Check Engine light on. We really needed work done on this car before a trip. We used them because of their good reviews, and on top of the shoddy work, it was as if they did not want our business in the first place when they did not want to help with the Check Engine light issues. Will not go back here again, ever. Do NOT recommend. read more

Love them! Nice people , they work with you! Very reasonable prices. In this world where everyone is looking to get over. I've never had them overcharge me. read more

Chen! Love Chen. Great man. Great auto shop. Great prices. And free bottled water while you wait. Shhhhhhhhh!

Amazing! Comprehensive. Responsive. More affordable than any other quote you're going to get, including from folks literally on the same street, or anywhere in Silver Spring. (I got quotes three or four times what A Quality offered, and with vastly less convenient timelines, locations, etc). read more

This store has professional service, always has reasonable prices for their labor; I'll have to give five stars - pure satisfaction.

I needed my door replaced and paint blended with the original color. The price was right, reviews looked solid, but they were quite busy so I took my chances. I showed someone my car after I got it back and they said it looked "brand new." Amazing work from a skilled crew, Kimberly was very communicative as well. 4 stars because it took a few more days than promised. Thank you! read more

I was stuck in DC for two days because my shocks decided to gouge my tires. They fixed my shocks, timing belt, and brand new tires for a great price! Highly recommend. read more

Before having my T Bird detailed I took it here to have some scrapes and scratches on the front bumper repaired as well as painted. They did a great job and the prices were well below other places. A few years ago I also had taken a Mustang here for work and the work was great and the price was right and that's why they got my repeat business. Definitely bookmark this place for future reference, you'll be glad you did. Another 5 star experience!! read more

Yeng Chen and the team did an excellent job on my car at a very competitive price within the agreed delivery time. Appreciate their quality customer service and friendly nature. I had a great experience with this auto shop. They were able to get me in the same day I called, then they gave my car a good inspection, and showed me exactly what needed work. They did not pressure me to get anything I didn't want done. I decided to get a lot of work done, which meant leaving the car overnight, so Yang gave me a ride to and from the metro station. He also gave me a discount on the bill. They did good work on the car, with all new parts, and took it for a test drive too. I'm very happy with their service. read more

Great work! The prep and paint detail was exactly what we were seeking. The BEFORE, During abs AFTER pics are pretty dramatic. Thank you read more

Mr Chen is so reliable and gives you such a fair price. I had the best service here and my car came out reliable. Thank you!

I have used A Quality for many years. The mechanics are top notch and can fix any car. Mr. Chen always gives me a good price, lower than other shops. The shop has long hours Mon- Sat. I highly recommend them for any mechanical repair or body work. read more

The price was very reasonable and I'm very satisfied with the work. I thought the whole panel would have to be replaced, but Mr. Chen's knowledge and finesse meant that he could repair the damaged one, which was a lot less expensive. And it looks like new! We are grateful. read more

Such an honest place. The owner saved me from spending hundreds of dollars on replacing an unnecessary part from a dealer. He was super friendly and honest and very responsive. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place. will be coming here for all my future car needs. read more

I went to four different body shops to have body repair estimates after an accident. All other three body shops' estimates indicating that the quarter panel of my vehicle had to be replaced by cutting the damaged quarter panel from vehicle and welding a new one, which not only will compromise the safety of my vehicle, but also will skyrocket the repair costs (from $3600-$7500). Mr. Eric Yuan (the owner) told me that he can repair the damaged area without cutting & welding at very reasonable price (less than $2000). I was really impressed by his terrific repair works done after picking up my vehicle yesterday. I will highly recommend this shop to anyone who has body repair needs. read more

After reading such great reviews I took my car here. I had just been to my dealership where they said they could not fix my tire and it would cost $700 to replace one rim and tire. I went here in hopes of getting a better quote and to my relief they were able to fix the tire very fast and for a more than reasonable price! So grateful I went here instead!! read more

Be warned: This is perhaps the worst place to get your car fixed, or you could say, the best place to "cheaply" get your car fixed and have it break down again. I had an older Accord fixed here several months ago. This car broke down again a couple of days ago. I took it to another auto mechanic. Apparently they didn't screw tight or align the distributor cause a complete breakdown of the vehicle. So nice knowing they don't pay attention to detail here. Like the old adage goes: you buy cheap, you buy twice. read more

The price was cheaper compared to other places for an oil change/routine services, but they will try to up-sell like many other shops/dealerships for routine services/maintenance. Please don't scare people into getting routine maintenance and just offer/recommend them. I will return here. read more

This review is not about the shop's mechanical repair expertise and quality of results. It is specifically about customer communication. For several years I had generally very good experience with the shop. But ever since the loss of the woman in the front office as a liason between mechanics and customers, it has become the most frustrating, exasperating experience I've ever had with any repair shop. The communication, and follow-up about status of work, is so bad that I would probably not go back to them. I think the woman I refer to is named Ailee. I understood from them that she stopped working there due to concerns about the virus pandemic. I strongly hope she will return. read more

I have taken three cars to A Quality over the years, one car several times. The work has always been done perfectly and at a great price. Recently, the front bumper had become unfastened when I hit some dirt at the end of my driveway. His team spent a few minutes fixing it on the spot and charged me nothing! Mr. Chen and A Quality provide the finest service. We are lucky they are in business in our community. read more

This is where I bring my car when I need to get it fixed. Fair prices, fast service, and they will try to move heavens to try to get your car serviced on the fly. I can't tell you how many times I've brought my car to this place (I live in DC and have to deal with street parking) and they always manage to get my car fixed without breaking my budget. (Sometimes, its cheaper to get it fixed through him than to make the claim with your insurance company and fear that your premiums skyrocket!). Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely cannot say enough nice things about Mr. Chen and his staff. We travelled down to Bethesda from New Hampshire, and while we were there the brakes on our Dodge Caravan gave out completely. We initially went to Midas and received a really high estimate that we simply couldn't afford, so we looked up local places and settled on this place, and we are so glad that we did. Mr. Chen was very candid and honest with us- he let us know that our van was basically a bust, but that he would be able to replace the brake lines as a temporary solution so that we could at least get back home to NH. Because we had to leave our van there, Mr. Chen offered to drive us to the metro station to make it easier for us to get back to our hotel. He even told us to call him for a ride from the metro station when we picked the van up if we needed to! The work was done well, and he didn't overcharge us or do any unnecessary work. So if you come here, you're going to get honesty and a fair price. And on top of that, Mr. Chen is truly one of the nicest people we have ever met; he truly cared about us and wanted to make sure that we got home safely. Can't recommend this place enough! If you're in this area and need work done on your car, go to him. We only wish we had someone like him in New Hampshire, haha. read more

A = Amazing Quality, at an A-fforadable price! Cheesy? Yes. An exaggeration? Definitely not! ---///Workmanship I managed to damage my trunk, and I needed the torsion rod in my trunk replaced. The technicians that worked on my car did a fantastic job. It's been a few weeks since they completed the repair, and the work that the gentlemen at the body shop completed was top notch-- not a problem since. ---///Customer Service It feels like "my uncle's garage." Does the owner make an over-the-top effort to be friendly to his customers? I'd say no, but his demeanor and courtesy is sincere and friendly none-the-less. The garage itself is in a back-alley, but the waiting room for customers is clean, has plenty of seating, and even has free wi-fi! I drove in for an initial estimate and and "exam" where the owner and the technicians looked at the vehicle and determined which parts were needed, and was told to return once the parts came in. I never did receive that follow up call, and had to call him to remind him to look for the parts. ---///Price Went to two other body shops which quoted me 2 hours of labor time+ $50 in parts... with the total coming out to $150. Yang and his technicians had me in and out in 15 MINUTES for the final cost of LESS than parts that other mechanic/body shops quoted me. WOW. Needless to say, you do the math for what other repairs might look like if you bring it here. ---///Final Count Would I come back? ABSOLUTELY! Quality work at an honest price -- it doesn't get any better than that. Bottom line is this--I think if you're looking for a day at the sauna, this might not be the place for you. But if you're looking for an honest garage with technicians who do honest work for an affordable price, you've found your place! A Quality Auto Body & Services did an amazing body repair on our 15 passenger Chevy van. If it were not for the recommendation of a trusted friend I would have never gone there and I am glad that I did. Despite A Quality not having substantial Yelp reviews, and a shop location in the back-corner of a tiny and very tired industrial park. And, when you are near the shop you are not sure you are there. You can hardly find the shop's glass front door hidden behind a stairway. During my visits I found A Quality's office busy with satisfied customers. Mr. Yang Chen, the shop's proprietor, got right to giving me a quote. His quote beat the competition by hundreds of dollars. My van was no minor job. I had side-swiped the side of the van. From the rear taillight, with five deep horizontal gashes about four feet long, from the window to the rocker panel, the paint was peeled to the metal. I had a really bad encounter with a parking garage concrete post. Mr. Chen asked to start work the next day and said it would be done in two days, and that is exactly what he did. My other bidder could not start work for a week and required four or five days to complete it. Something we could not do. I was a leery about quality and Mr. Chen assured me his shop would "do a good job." And they really did. It was done on time. But more important, there was not a trace of the body damage and they masterfully matched the paint. A few days later I looked the van over closer from all angles and could find no flaws in A Quality's body or paint work. It really was a quality job. Mr. Chen's already has a good business and a network of customers that pass the word to friends about his good work, and prices. It is clear to me fellow Yelpers will find A Quality Auto Body offers everything Yelpers want. It is definitely worth the drive. read more

Yang sold me a Prius, and it had a problem and he picked up the car, and took it back to the shop. No problem since. By the way, he probably drove close to 80 miles total. Honest man. read more

I went to multiple shops to get a quote. Every quote was between $300 and $500. A Quality did the same work for under $100. They also found an issue that wasn't noticed while creating the quote, but they took initiative to fix it and I did not have to pay extra for it. Definitely a huge stress relief to have quality work done at a reasonable charge! read more

It's out of the way, but he's got signs, heck even a truck painted to lead you to the right place in the industrial park. His prices quoted were a quarter of what another body shop wanted to charge. Instead of replacing an entire hood, they repaired and repainted and it was a perfect match. They are fast and the work is impeccable. It cost LESS to have my damage fixed than my deductible on my insurance. I heard about them from two of my neighbors who were equally as impressed with the work they had done. read more

I am not living close to this store but whenever my car has any major problem, I bring it here.

I went to do my Lexus timing belt and G37's Akebono brake both car have been taking care so well with the best price they can gave to me. A very peace of mind feeling every time I let them repair my car since 1998. The owner never let me disappointed. The most import thing is you definitely can see through the auto shop when the time mechanics fix your car use the best parts they could order for you. Not much word I can say just do yourself a favor to fix your car there. read more

I had a car accident and my car needs a major repair. The quotes from other places are all twice expensive and take longer times. Mr. Chen gave me a very affordable price and only took one day. I went to pick up my car today, the work is just fabulous and my car looks like new. I am very happy with A Quality Auto Body Shop's service, and will definitely recommend it! read more

Another driver rear-ended my car and his insurance company, GEICO, seriously low-balled their repair estimate. GEICO also tried to get me to take my car to one of their affiliate shops. The GEICO affiliate shop committed to only repainting half the bumper and wanted me pony up an extra $300 upfront out my own pocket if I wanted the bumper replaced. I also had many concerns about the shop itself from the negative reviews on Yelp. Instead I went with A Quality because they had great yelp reviews and were very highly rated in both price and quality on Washington Checkbook. I'm glad I went with A Quality. Mr. Chen knew how to grease the wheels and got GEICO to pony up all the cash needed to properly repair the car, including several elements that GEICO had neglected in their initial estimate. GEICO dragged their feet to send out another assessor, but Mr. Chen got the work done quickly and precisely. GEICO still only reimbursed the shop for half my bumper to be repainted, but Mr. Chen repainted the entire bumper at no additional charge. Now my entire bumper looks brand-spanking-new. The quality of the work was very good. If you looked very closely at the bumper, you could see that a little paint spilled over on the embossed lettering, but even that I was able to remove that with my fingernail and a few minutes of patience. Mr. Chen is not a native English speaker, so sometimes it can be a little difficult to communicate, but I found that a little patience and asking a few simply-phrased clarifying questions were able to help bridge the gap. Overall, I would highly recommend A Quality Auto Body & Services for bodywork. read more

I love my car, and was heartbroken to think it may be time to give it up after it failed inspection due to rust and holes in the frame. Mr. Chen quoted me a reasonable price for the job, and the results were so good the inspection station couldn't believe it was the same vehicle. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest service and fair prices for quality work. read more

I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews, but I am making a point to write this one because I am so impressed with A Quality Auto Body. They were fair, they were fast, and their work, indeed, gets an "A" in quality, despite the cheesiness of that. I drove a rental car down from NYC to suburban Maryland, and it got scratched on the way. My credit card comes with rental car insurance, and I didn't want to deal with the rental company paperwork and having to have them get a repair quote. So I checked the Yelp reviews near where I was in Maryland, and took the car in to Mr. Chen. This was at like 4 p.m. on a Saturday. I had to return the car to the rental company the next day, Sunday, which happened to be the Chinese New Year. Mr. Chen and his whole family were about to go out for a Chinese New Year Dinner that evening. Mr. Chen gave me a quote, which was not cheap but not outrageous, and he went the extra mile to have one of his guys do the work that night and the following Sunday morning, even though A Quality Auto was technically closed that day, so that I could pick the car up that morning, and take it back to New York. And that is exactly what happened, without a hitch. Now that is service. As another reviewer said, both the office experience and the entire back alley vibe were a little bit surreal/sketchy, but the work was perfect, the paint job was so good that I literally could not see where the work had been done. And Mr. Chen's estimate and paperwork were meticulous, well-written, and well-explained, so I had zero problems getting reimbursed by my insurance for the work. Thank you, Mr. Chen! read more
