We decided to give it a try anyway. This is a self-serve frozen yogurt with 12 flavors and tons of toppings to load up your cup with. I have tried 4-5 flavors. The flavors are average, loved the strawberry and mango poppers toppings though. The dark chocolate yogurt didn't look or tasted dark, that was a disappointment. The California tart is tarty, but I would go to Pinkberry if I wanted to have tarty yogurt. Probably won't be a go to place, but kids loved the experience. read more

Granted I only typically go for the rainbow sprinkles on my tahitian vanilla but I noticed they had salted chocolate caramels so of course I had to try them. Decadent! This place has easily turned into one of my favorite fro-yo joints for one reason -- ISLAND EFFIN' COCONUT. Mind BLOWN. When I first came here about two years ago, I was a Yumilicious loyal, but the new Las Colinas location wasn't open yet. I couldn't get into YZ and the mediocre flavors and overwhelming abundance of tart flavors. I'm not a huge tart fro-yo fan with the exception of Yumilicious Avocado Tart, so I crossed YZ off my list until about three months ago when the first 80-degree day made an appearance. Enter Island Coconut!! Somewhat fresh off a week-long stay in Hawaii, I had been craving another good tropical-esque dessert experience. I think I cried a little loading my pink cup [gotta have the pink cup] with the magical tastes of coconut fro-yo mixed with pineapples, coconut flakes and slivered almonds. Just like that, I was back in the tropics, and YZ had secured a warm beachfront spot in my heart. Personal selection aside, YZ seems to have evened out their ratio of tart versus LF versus NF. They even had a dairy-free option with Watermelon Sorbet that almost made its way into my last pink cup a few days ago. I LOVE their selection of toppings. The fruit is fresh and well-stocked, and they have a nice array of squeeze toppings from chocolate to caramel to condensed milk. There was a small post-it that said sugar-free was available upon request. Not wanting to delay my next islandy experience, I skipped it. There are two things that would take YZ to the top of the chart for me: 1) Cake or brownie 'bottoms' and 2) Don't be so darn stingy with the sample cups! Not fancy but satisfies my froyo craving. It's my neighborhood go-to. I took half a star off for cleanliness and style. The interior is tidy but not always squeaky clean. An employee periodically wipes down the nozzles. Presumably to control drips, etc. This creeps me out because sponges are germy. And he isn't wearing gloves. Also, the modern decor seems like it's trying too hard to be a Pinkberry or Red Mango. The few yogurt dispensers and containers are in the back which makes for an unusual customer experience if you're a first-time visitor. Although the flavors are limited, I love the delicious and healthy selection of fruits: strawberries, mangos, pineapple, mandarin oranges, etc. They are generous and replenish often. I'm not a candy or nut topping fan so I can't speak to the variety. But it seems like this is where they concentrated most if their toppings. Bonus for the whole pecans -- though I don't associate these nuts with froyo. Now, they do have crunchy strawberry fizzies (love!). And there is always soft mochi and the caviar-looking balls (also love). I took another half star off since their cereal selection is lacking. Did I mention that This is the foundation of any froyo creation? I love my cereal toppings for the crunch, flavor, and visual punch. They're like froyo confetti! Where are the Fruity Pebbles? I cannot stress the importance of FRESH toppings. I've been so some shops where the candy toppings taste pretty stale (not a good look) I'm irritated by the construction near by making it difficult to park, but that will be over soon! The yogurt was much better than the stuff you get at Yogurtland, although it looks almost identical inside, it's very fresh and tastes wonderful. I was impressed by the quality of the fruit toppings, they were very also very fresh and ripe, which made them very sweet in the yogurt. I came down here from Michigan on business, and I got a craving for frozen yogurt and tried this place. Since then, I've driven the 6 miles to come here EVERYDAY of my stay. It's just that good. It's a great place - inexpensive, great flavors, great service. I mean, not only is yogurt better for you than ice cream, but where will you find no sugar added, fat free vanilla ice cream that tastes good? You won't! But the no sugar added, fat free Tahitian Vanilla Frozen Yogurt here tastes PHENOMENAL. I'm also a health nut, so the fact that most of their delicious flavors are yummy and fat free is a plus. I visit Yogurt Zone after my workouts - and I've lost more weight....another plus. Probably one of my favorite frozen yogurt places! I live about 45 minutes away so I don't get to come often, but when I do it never disappoints! It's located in a pretty popular shopping center. It's next to a Corner Bakery and near a Target and Michaels. So no matter what your reasoning for being in the area is, it's a good stop! They have an abundance of yogurt options (all very good and not overly sweet), and an even larger abundance of toppings. The toppings are my favorite part of this place. Loved this yogurt shop! So many different choices of yogurt (red velvet was a choice) and so many toppings. i ended up choosing a salted caramel yogurt with a few different type of nuts. The young man working at the counter was super nice and the place was kept really clean. I also ended up paying about $3 for a pretty good serving size which shocked me as I thought it would be a lot more. The orange sherbet flavor tasted like the good ol' Flinstone's push-pops!! I would definitely compliment them on the freshness of all the yogurt flavors. I say all because I tried all of them. I would have rather put some fruit toppings instead. Salty and sweet are a good mix but tangy and salty don't do so well. The original and strawberry were good as well. Again, very fresh.
