Dumont Creamery and Cafe serves up some of the richest, smoothest, and most indulgent ice cream I've had in ages! And I say that as a self-proclaimed ice cream snob. The Oreo Caramel Fudge was pure decadence! Creamy, loaded with crunchy Oreo pieces, ribbons of gooey caramel, and swirls of fudgy goodness in every bite. The cafe itself has a stylish, modern vibe with seating that makes it just as inviting to linger as it is to indulge. I was surprised to learn it's part of a chain, but now I'm crossing my fingers that Charleston gets a location soon because I haven't found ice cream this luxurious and downright addictive anywhere local. Great service to boot!

As I finished my brunch date with my girlfriends, a balloon arch caught my eye. My friend's daughter saw a face painting booth. We didn't know that it was part of Dumont's grand opening. The daughter picked a rainbow and it was beautiful. Popcorn, the artist, told us about Dumont's grand opening and the delicious ice cream. We couldn't say no especially on a hot Sunday afternoon. As we walked inside, it was bright, clean, and modern. They offered a variety of ice creams, coffees, and milk teas. I was quite surpised with the variety of pasteries and drinks offered. Since it was grand opening weekend (today is the last day of this offer), it was buy one small or regular ice cream and get one free! They had traditional flavored ice creams to creative ones like Hokey Pokey. The ones we sampled were fresh and tasty! A gentleman was helping us. He wasn't the owner, but was helping with the launch. He was helpful in guiding us in which flavors we'd like. Overall, the experience was good and I'd love to come back to Dumont!

Friendly staff, we were greeting walking in and asked if we'd like a sample. Large scoop of great tasting ice cream.

Dumont has done a great job nailing the coffee shop aesthetic. Lots of room to sit and work + nice ambiance. The specialty coffees are delicious.

It's a Super cute store , they have food, ice cream, coffee and tea. They have tons of flavors and ice cream and lattes. They even have Milk tea, smoothies and lemonade. They have decent amount of seating for smaller groups and I see a few outlets for studying.

The place looks very new. I was greeted right away and offered to try samples. They had some unique flavors. I got the Hokey Pokey.

Then you have some higher tiered places that brew fresh, infuse, focus on flavors and not sweetness. I find this to be a bit of both in that most of their drinks are sweet despite having sparkling water drinks that are decaf and they have sweetness levels. I've come here a few times and noticed very little difference between their levels depending on the drink. The thai milk tea at 25% sweetness tastes like the ginger milk tea with 50% sweetness and the matcha latte at 75%. There is a perceived sweetness. At first i'd go full sweetness on everything and then i started knowing which one's tasted best at what levels. The trick is to add the milk foam to a 25% sweetness to accentuate the sweetness without actual sugar. As a Filipino i'm glad they havent bastardized Ube like Starbucks did, and also not mad they leaned into the Matcha craze. Sea Salt pearl dessert is good, but could use better balance in flavors/texture. To be honest when I'm craving an actual dessert I'd rather go to Andy's for a sugar rush, so I come here for the jasmin apple grean tea, kiwi basil green tea with sparkling water. I like their oolong's and earl grey. I'm not a big fan of their dirty boba To me I never go full ice or no ice. No ice doesn't provide correct dilution and regular leaves a more than half full cup of ice at the end. Less ice keeps it cold, dilutes it until the end. I found the Vietnamese coffee to be a little weak and not the usual kick in the face. Prices are pretty good, rewards system is nice. Portions are solid. Decor is clean, nice, family friendly, great for gathering, but can get crowded. Service is hit or miss, they seem unconfident in their drink making and order taking, either they are nervous at how busy it can get or aren't efficient in their process. The wait can be long regardless of the line. With the lack of competition and the fact they don't have any glaring weakness it's a solid spot for the outskirts.

The Dirty Boba with crème brûlée foam is a must-try, and the pearls are always perfectly chewy. I also have been loving oolong with sea salt foam! Plus you can customize the sweetness (50% is my sweet spot) to keep the tea flavor front and center. Spotless shop, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend for your next meetup or tea date!

The shop is very clean, very well organized, and leaves plenty to do while enjoying your boba or some of the other items they offer. They have games and a nice lounge area that would make for a pleasant, low-key evening with friends or even a date. The customer service was great, but I feel she could have been assertive when I mentioned it was my first time visiting their shop. The questions I asked, she did a great job answering my questions, and was fully versed on the menu. One question I asked, which was very important to me: Do you use powder or fresh fruit with a touch of powder? Yes, they only use powder. I am not a fan of the powder; it leaves the drink tasting artificial, and that isn't what I choose to pay for. She did say, if you want some fresh (I did, and will always want that), their juices are the only fresh items on their menu. Dang it! Coconut Water: w/ Mango popping jelly This was good, and you can elect to drink it from the actual coconut or in a boba cup. I chose to get the cup, but I may get the actual coconut during the summer. Also, it has chunks of fresh coconut in it as well. If I ever get this again, I will ask if some type of flavor can be added. Eventually, the taste of the coconut water became a nuisance, and I threw it away. Vanilla pastry w/ whip cream and a cherry topping: This was not good; it was in a case with valentine pastries, and I have a feeling it has been sitting there since that time. I noticed in their Google review that someone else mentioned the same. The freshness of their desserts can be compromised by the items that are also shared, in that case, or by cleaning agents. When they're not tightly and properly packaged, the foods will absorb the surrounding odors. When I tell you it wasn't good, it was really bad. The cherries on top were not fresh; they were canned, which is okay, it would be the most logical thing. The cherries were stuck together, and the whipped cream didn't have the soft and fluffy texture; it was hard. The vanilla cream in the center tasted nothing like vanilla. The whole thing was a wash and also went into the trash. I feel like I'm chasing the success of Bambu (Asian Times Square) and looking for the same level of quality without that dang powder; it seems many places are using powder. To end this on a good note, I can't say I will not visit again. I'm interested in trying some of their other juices and a milk tea or two, and I'd be willing to stop by again for those.

That being said, one would think we'd get "good" service - also not the case. Based on Yelp (and Google) reviews, we were served likely by the owner. I asked for two samples and this man was so cheap he barely nicked the ice cream with the corner of the square spoon and called it a "sample." In other words, the sample was so tiny it didn't even cover 1/4 of the small sample spoon. I wish I were making this up yall, I was mind blown. I ended up settling for a flavor I didn't ask to sample (chocolate cookie dough, I believe it was). It was just okay. Nothing to miss or write home about. When I asked for that flavor, he almost sounded disappointed I didn't get the dark chocolate flavor (one of the ice creams I asked to sample) saying that's one of their best sellers. Sir, if I would've been able to actually TASTE it, I may have very well chosen it.
