This is a very amicable little ice cream shop located in a rougher part of town, an odd combo but not to their discredit. Whether you want the classic American options or something with a more Latin twist, you'll likely find it here. I've noticed it's mostly a younger crowd working here, often alone, but they're always nice and happy to help. Just don't be weird. As for their popsicles which is my choice, they're tasty. I don't know if they make them in-house or I'm enjoying the La Michoacana special but they're good. So yeah, like frozen or sweet treats? Give them a chance. read more

It's very cute. It's in the corner if you make a U-turn to the right. There is Lots of parking outside. Now, onto the yummy, delicious stuff. Where to start? I couldn't decide what I wanted to try versus what I could take that wouldn't melt in this heat. There were so many hard decisions, and the lady was so helpful. I did try two ice cream but ended up going with the mango paleta, which I finished so fast . I got two churros with caramel on top of a few other things. This is a great place for sweet cravings. I wanted some churros and Sol Dias didn't disappoint. They fried the churro while we waited, so it was nice and hot, and crunchy. Simple, cute, clean dessert spot with ice cream and, obviously, churros too!! There were a lot more dessert and drink options on the menu as well. I liked how there was an extensive array of ice cream flavors that all looked tasty/unique but I settled on a Ferrero Rocher small ice cream cup. Our group came in for an after dinner dessert, and wow we really enjoyed Sol Dias! It was our first time there, and we enjoyed it! So glad it was open late! The establishment is very clean and organized! We were greeted by a lovely worker who let my friends sample 1-2 flavors. I already knew I wanted the galletas ice cream and a churro from the get-go! My friends ordered the queso one, and then another got a strawberries and cream one? I loved the churro! It was hot and crispy! I loved that they also didn't skimp on coating! The holder they serve it with is also really awesome! My ice cream was just the perfect consistency, and had a great balance of cookies and cream! My friend raved about his queso ice cream as well! The store was clean and had plenty of space for patrons to shop and sit inside to eat their desserts. The cashier I encountered did not speak English, so download a translation app on your phone. From the moment we walked in the service was horrible the lady who helped us out was super rude. When I asked what choices I had for churro dips, she seemed annoyed by my question. What a great paleteria I found just southeast of the DFW airport. I actually saw Sol Dias as I was driving to Pho Empire for pho. I thought, you know what, I'm gonna go get some dessert after I eat my pho! I met the Sol Dias owner and he shared about the history of the business. The original store started in Waco and now they've opened up five stores. They make all their ice cream and paletas from scratch and I was quite impressed. I ordered a strawberries & cream paleta and it was tasty. My only wish was that my paleta had more of a creamy texture instead of an icy texture. Next time when I'm back, I'll have to try their ice cream and churro! read more

Solid lil ice cream shop with a wide selection of ice creams and snacks. We ordered the canasta with tres leches and cappuccino Oreo ice cream as well as a churros. The cappuccino Oreo was impressive and the hot fresh churros were impressive. The disappointment was that the canasta was described as a freshly made waffle, which was pulled from a box under the counter, not so freshly made. There were numerous flavors of ice cream that were so unique and delicious sounding, my husband tried the guava cheesecake and loved it and I got the cookies n cream ice cream with a churro. The ambiance is nice. We ordered the churro sundae with a scoop of tres leches and queso ice cream. The churro was very very over fried. The queso ice cream had a very subtle queso flavor and could barely taste it. The tres leches had a little more flavor. The service was very odd. One person working, she tended to the online and food service delivery orders first while we waited for about 30 minutes before she started prepping our order. (She may have been frying the churros while we waited but clearly it turned out extremely over fried.. very greasy) I had higher expectations walking in.
