Great tempura! Great take out. I was shopping nearby and wanted to pick up something quick for dinner so I decided to drive around the Wal Mart shopping center and found this place. My first time trying it. I ordered two combo bento boxes to go. I got the pork tonkatsu. It was not greasy, but I realized that I forgot it isn't my favorite dish. The chicken teriyaki was good. I loved the tempera and the mashed potato salad that comes with it. They were fairly quick with my order. I though this would be a great lunch spot since you can order at the counter and sit and eat. My boyfriend isn't a fan of always having to be waited on for lunch so this place is ideal for a quick lunch. I plan to try other items again. We dig yo sushi! Since I work in Vallejo and Fairfield I've eaten at Yo tons of times so I was excited when they opened in Martinez. I've only ever gotten takeout so I cannot attest to the service when you sit down, but they are super friendly and fast with takeout. Kids love the edamame, ramen and teriyaki and we love the sushi. Yo Sushi is smallish, attractively decorated, but not too warm feeling. It was after the lunch hour and I was the only customer in the place. Staff (I only really saw the one guy) was accommodating and my take out meal was ready in a jiff. I often go to another Sushi place down the street and so I ordered their Yo Sashimi Combo for comparison. The fish was fresh and the cuts larger than usual. Came with rice and miso. Price $15.95. Compared to the other place there was less variety (four: Maguro, Sake, Hamachi, and Shiro Maguro) as compared to six or seven at the other place. There was no salad and not so much garnish. Price about the same. So, on this one point I may still prefer the other place. Overall, though, I like the place, I liked the service, and I liked the quality of the food. As others have observed, they do have an extensive menu and the prices are quite reasonable. My choice was the second most expensive on the menu. read more

Tried it three times... not all that good. Sushi was always a little too warm. I finally got sick the third time. Probably had to do something with the guys in the back making the food, with there underwear showing as there pants hang down around there knees.
