***Edit 1: Added new screenshot of his reaction after seeing this review: telling me that I'm never going to get the warranty info until I remove the review because I don't want to wait and that I need to call the company he lied about working for (see "6" in photos) ***Edit 2: You can see the type of "business owner" this is from his reply... He might get a working key made for you but you'll have to deal with this: No invoice or receipt, no accepting debit/credit cards (only Venmo or Zelle), arguing and lying, and a key that's not even fully functional. I lost my only car key and called several companies without knowing that most locksmiths these days now outsource their work to independent contractors. My first mistake was not keeping a log of who I was calling because when this locksmith called me back after another company came out and couldn't make the key, I jumped at the opportunity, especially since Audi quoted $750 and I hadn't been able to drive my car for a week. I was told the caller's name was Benjamin and he could provide the key for $250 and in order to estimate the price for programming, he patched his boss on the call who mentioned $200 for a total of $450. They were very defensive that I asked for pricing so this should've been my first red flag along with the inability to immediately quote a price range for programming (isn't this your job?). They also promised a 3 year warranty on parts, service and labor and were confident they could get it done so it was schedule for an hour later. When he arrived, he spent most of the time in his black van on his phone or in the back of his van. And when I asked if everything was going okay (since the last locksmith wasn't able to help), I assumed he wasn't going to get it done and there was this tone in his voice like I was bothering him instead of just informing me of the process - second red flag. After almost 2 and a half hours, he knocked on my door after working in the garage and went straight back to his car with the key he made while locking and unlocking the doors, assuming he was verifying the key was made correctly. I just stood there waiting for him to come back to the car since I wasn't sure if he was done or not and he immediately asked how I was going to pay. When I asked to see the key to verify everything for myself, he was rude again promising it worked just fine. I then realized it wasn't fully functional and I couldn't unlock my car with my hand on the door handle or push the button to start it - third red flag (I should've walked away at this point but I was just desperate to drive my car at this point). When we spoke over the phone, I was told the key will do everything an OEM key would but just without the Audi emblem and price point - I remember that distinctly. By this point, I just didn't care anymore and wanted to pay and for him to leave. I asked if he took Apple Pay assuming he would take debit/credit and was told he only accepts cash, Venmo or Zelle. HUGE red flag but again, I just wanted to drive my car. I verified $450 again while getting my Venmo app ready and he said he needed to call his boss and check because it was a ridiculous price. Yes, $450 is ridiculous because Audi charges almost double but it's still high for an aftermarket key that isn't fully functional. His boss came up with an arbitrary $500 and when I sent the funds, I immediately receive a fraud alert from my bank for a Yamin Bitan, not Benjamin. I don't know why I just didn't walk away then because I definitely should've. I wasn't given a receipt, invoice or any information about the 3 year warranty promised over the phone. I asked for the name of the company he worked for and he said it was KeyMe. It's now 4 days later and I have no receipt, invoice or warranty information (it went from 3 years to 12 months to 6 months, to 4 months to 3 months - see screenshots) and after calling KeyMe twice, they don't have a record of completing a service for me. Run, don't walk, from Benjamin or Yamin or whoever he is. I should've just paid the $750 at Audi.

Excellent, immediate service. Very professional with fair pricing. Helped find very difficult key , dealer quote me 5 times.

Called, received a call from Benjamin right away. Fixed my VW key ignition that was locked and not turning that same day.

Johnny was absolutely outstanding! From start to finish, he was professional, punctual, and…read moreextremely knowledgeable. He showed up quickly, explained exactly what needed to be done, and got the job handled efficiently without cutting any corners. What really stood out was his attention to detail and how respectful he was of my time and property. The work was clean, precise, and done right the first time. If you need a reliable locksmith technician who's skilled and trustworthy, Johnny is your guy. Highly recommend and would definitely use him again!

I just bought a house and needed the door handles, deadbolts, and mailbox rekeyed. I was able to…read moreschedule ahead of time and the service was prompt and smooth. I was a little surprised by the price which is why I dropped a star. It was quoted a tiny bit high but still around the competition (most quotes came out to $180-280), but was completed higher than competitors in the end. That being said, I don't know if the actual price from competitors would have been higher than their quotes. For transparency here, I paid a $65 service fee plus $55 per house lock. The mailbox was a higher charge at $125. I was quoted $200-300 (probably assuming 3 locks rather than the 4 I ended up needing); it came out to about $410 plus tax. The result is the same. I have a fully rekeyed home and mailbox. Service was excellent. The vehicle was well marked and the Johnny was very professional and easy to work with.
