I had to pause mid-bite to write this review because Ying's is that good. The crab egg rolls? Devoured before I could snap a pic, so delicious I couldn't resist. The wings are hands-down the best I've had in ages, paired perfectly with fluffy white rice. The sesame chicken is tender, perfectly sauced, and seasoned, with broccoli that's soft yet crisp. The honey chicken strikes an ideal balance of sweet and juicy. The crab rangoons stand out compared to other takeout spots, with generous, creamy filling. I also tried the Chicken Pad Thai, which was surprisingly solid, cabbage instead of sprouts worked beautifully. Beyond the 10/10 food, the service was stellar. The staff's friendly, genuine pride in their work was refreshing. Ying's earns an 11/10, and it's no surprise they're a Jacksonville staple.

The first time I saw the sign for "Ying's Takee Outee" sign, I thought that the owner must have a great sense of humor. It also reminded me a lot of the Chinese restaurant in Dude Where's My Car. As I drove by it more and more times, I knew I had to try it. It is now my wife and I's regular Chinese take out place. It's no frills, greasy comfort food and we love it. We definitely recommend the chicken wings and the fried rice.

Jacksonville, FL - Near I-95. Drive-thru fast and friendly service. Food is hot and good.

Drive thru only. It's a little awkward getting to this restaurant. I pulled in from Spring Park road and apparently that was an exit only, whoops. Ordered the teriyaki dinner which only comes with white rice. Fried rice was an extra 50 cents. Think I'll stick with the white rice next time but I did enjoy my meal for around $9. Service was fast and friendly.

Coolest name for a Chinese restaurant, hands down. They have a drive thru, which is so rare to find. It definitely makes them different from other Chinese restaurants. There's not a lot to say about the food. It's not terrible. It's also not the best I've had either. But I will say, being 2 min down the road from my work place and having a drive thru? I do eat here every so often. Hot and sour soup is pretty good and full of bamboo shoots which I love. The wonton soup is just ok, but I have very high standards for that particular soup. It was edible. Their spare ribs are decent and the fried rice is pretty standard. The line moves quickly, the prices are pretty fair. I definitely dig the Chinee Takee Outee when I'm in need of a Chinese food fix.

Yesterday I wanted Chinese food and this place came to mind. I decided to try them on a whim. I've driven past it a few times and while I'm not a fan of the name, I figured why not and ordered through Doordash. My chicken wings and shrimp fried rice were pretty good. I liked the batter on the chicken. They seem to use curry in the batter, giving the wings a nice flavor. It came with three good-sized wings. The fried rice wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Based on previous experiences, I've yet to find amazing fried rice in Jacksonville. This version was okay and I was fine with it only having onions and bean sprouts. I wish more restaurants included sprouts in their fried rice. I also ordered an egg roll and spring roll. They were your standard rolls, nothing out of the ordinary. Only thing missing was a fortune cookie to complete my meal. So not too shabby. I'm up for trying them again.

I grabbed lunch here on the recommendation of a friend. (This is his go-to Chinese take out place.) To be honest, if it wasn't for that, I most likely would not have stopped here just because of the name. I really wanted a good, spicy Kung Pao chicken - and spicy is a rare thing to find in Chinese take out in Jacksonville. I was pleasantly surprised. For the price I paid, I received a very large amount of food. The egg roll was fresh and crisp and just a good standard egg roll. The fried rice was a bit of a let down, about as plain as could be with only onion. But the Kung Pao chicken itself? While it wasn't as spicy as it could have been, there was a really good (spice) heat going on and I really liked it. They were very generous with the amount of chicken included, about equal to the amount of vegetables. Just the right amount of sauce as well. The place may be older, but it was clean and the young ladies working here were polite. Best way to navigate in and out of the parking lot would be using Spring Park Road instead of University Boulevard. The restaurant is located on the corner at the traffic light and during high traffic periods, it's difficult and potentially dangerous to navigate out through University.

When I was a kid mom use to bring it home and it was the best. Now it was just kind of blah, but it's cheap. You get what you pay for.

Flavor, texture, portion... no notes. The lychee martinis were a highlight (especially since they were doing BOGO ), and the staff made the whole experience even better super fun and great energy. If you're craving dim sum and a good time, this place is definitely worth the stop.

I always order a lot of dishes because I like what I like and I also know I'll have leftovers. I sent back the pan fried taro pudding because it was so bland and it didn't have many of the main ingredients in it. If it were there, it was so skimpy I didn't find any. (The Chinese sausage and dried shrimp) The pain fries soy sauce noodles were overcooked. It's suppose to be pan fried and it was not. Also very skimpy on the black mushrooms. Not very flavorful. The Steamed shrimp dumplings were mediocre. The skin was gummy and fell apart. The shrimp filling wasn't too bad. The shrimp with rice pasta was probably the best dish there. But it was still lacking in flavor. The steamed ribs with black bean sauce was very bland. The ribs were tough and tasteless. The braised chicken feet were over cooked. The texture was horrible like eating mush. The flavors were also off. The egg tarts looked good but the flavors again were off. Borderline going bad. It had that slight aftertaste of sourness. The shell was also flavorless. The BBQ pork buns were also disappointing. The ratio of bread to filling was off. Very small amount. But I was a little happy this happened because the filling didn't taste good at all. The hot tea was also disappointing. I always order jasmine tea when having dim sum. They used a low quality tea bag instead of real loose jasmine tea leaves which also includes the flowers. No fragrance at all of Jasmine tea. Needless to say, I will not be going back on my next visit. It was very expensive for what they give you. Especially since the food was so bad. I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. I wish I had seen the review that had a photo of the salt and pepper shrimp before I went because I would not have gone. Their salt and pepper shrimp is not authentic and I would have not gone and saved myself $80 for my lunch.

They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
