"I LOVE YIAYIA'S CAFE!!" I proudly scream from the rooftops. My bf and I love to come here for a nice quiet breakfast. The interior is decorated with a pretty white-and-blue motif that is definitely fitting. It's small, and not usually crowded so we typically can choose where to sit. It's become our favorite spot to go on the weekends, over places like Atlantic grill or aquidneck pizza. It's just so much cozier, and it's women-owned, which I will always support! The food is delicious. The spanakopita is my favorite, its fluffy and perfectly cheesy while not being dense or greasy. The greek yogurt is so creamy and delicious, the bacon is both crunchy and juicy at the same time. My bf loves to get the different wraps because he tends to like a large breakfast. They have lots of options for breakfast and lunch. I also love the vanilla iced latte, I think they put some ice cream in it. It tastes amazing. If you're wondering about YiaYia's cafe, definitely come try it. I feel like lots of people think it's only for those staying at the Sea Breeze Inn, or haven't been for whatever reason. I hope everyone has the chance to come here, local or tourist!

The service was outstanding from the owners personally greeting us at the door to our server,Makalah, who was so knowledgeable about the menu. I came with my mother, and we both ordered the club sandwiches, which were delicious. I also had the Greek salad, and it was amazing the vegetables were incredibly fresh and the feta was creamy and flavorful. We paired our meal with local Del's lemonade, which was the perfect refreshing touch for a summer afternoon. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot to enjoy a Newport summer day. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. The food is fresh, the service is warm, and it's also budget-friendly a must try in Newport!

Though we have been to Aquidneck Island numerous times in the past, this was our first meal at YiaYia's Cafe. The morning of our visit was warm and delightful so we chose to dine on the outside deck which proved to be both scenic and refreshing. We each chose a crepe, she with strawberries and cream while I went with apples, cinnamon and brown sugar. Both were very good as was the service so we likely, very likely, will be returning on our next vacation to Little Rhody.
August 2025 OF COURSE WE ARE BACK! All the way from Long Island and couldn't think of a better place to stay while in Newport and of course EAT! Many things may change in this world but one thing that won't in the hospitality and great food offered by Telly and Leeza! This place is an absolute must for breakfast and I wouldn't sleep on lunch either paired with her delicious rice pudding and baklava! It was so nice we ate it twice in a day. One at her restaurant and also when we seen them at the Greek Fair! Our favorite is the French Toast BUT I just had to try it all! Not one regret while we stayed there! Price is right and food is great...why not indulge?

Looking for Greek breakfast? This is the place to go. A very Greek themed menu, in a beautiful little inn. There is limited parking, and just a few tables inside, but the service is terrific and the food is outstanding. The baklava was terrific, I would have preferred it with a little bit more honey. The watermelon feta basil plate was also terrific, I would have liked more basil but the cheese to fruit ratio was on point. We also had another dessert dish with some cream inside which was amazing. Overall a very cute place.
We were staying at the inn so grabbed a little breakfast at YiaYia's. We both got omelettes which were made to order and came with toast and potatoes. The restaurant itself is bright and cheery and service is great.
This is a sweet café, owned by a very friendly and warm woman. When I was there, 90% of the clientele were Greek, which was lovely. I appreciated the Greek specialties on the menu. The café did seem slightly understaffed and my omelette was pretty lackluster. The home fries were delicious though.
We stopped in for lunch while visiting Newport. It was slightly difficult to find because there isn't really signage at all on the outside of the building but after some detective work, we were able to locate it. It is inside the Sea Breeze Inn. There was ample seating on a Tuesday at around 2pm. We elected to sit outside on the deck to enjoy the breeze. The view isn't the best but there is some water in the distance for what it's worth. The menu contains so many delicious options (including veg options!) that it's quite difficult to choose. If you know us, you know that we don't choose but instead just order a bunch of shit to share and that was our strategy for this meal. We were eyeing a vegetable platter on the menu that looked incredible but we were informed that they did not have that which required us to quickly adjust our order on the spot. I already had another selection on deck and ordered the Greek avocado "toast", GF ordered the pita plate, and we both ordered the spanakopita and baked lemon potatoes to share. The pita plate was brought out in short order. It contains smallish portions of hummus, olive spread, tzatziki and an inadequate amount of soft and warm pita. The tzatziki was smooth and creamy, thicker than some I've had before. The hummus was more "grainy" than the more traditional Israeli versions with which I am more familiar. The olive dip was amazinng. We definitely could have used more pita, and don't think we didn't use every square mm of pita as a vehicle for dip, as I was forced to resort to eating the dips with a fork like a rabid animal in order to come close to finishing. The baked lemon potatoes were absolutely incredible. The potato bits were soft and luscious with a delicious and crispy crust. The flavor was also divine. These didn't last long on the plate. The spanakopita was one of the best I've had in memory. This was round instead of the flat, horizontal layers I have experienced before. It was piping hot when it came out with paper thin phyllo dough and tasty. fillling. My Greek avocado toast was more like an avocado pita sandwich with slices of avocado, tomato, olive spread, and the most creamy and delicious feta cheese wrapped in a soft and warm pita. This was spectacular and combined fresh and Mediterranean spin on a classic. Other than some minor hiccups, we had a wonderful meal at YiaYia.
In Newport for a weekend getaway from New York. YiaYia's is a lovely, small, women-owned business that serves a delicious breakfast with an airy patio. We were greeted with smiles, politeness, and very tasty breakfast food at an affordable price. I got the omelette with Churico, spinach and feta - it was very unique and quite good. My Partner got the breakfast sandwich with sausage egg & cheese plus fruit on the side. Both were sizable portions with fresh ingredients. Would recommend for a casual, relaxing breakfast.
This is a nice little find. Some of the local patrons can be a little loud but heh they live here. The food is excellent and the service is great. The Horiatiki (Greek Salad) is fresh! Their own garden in front of the Inn. We have been here for lunch and breakfast. Both are amazing. Highly recommend this place!!!! Oh, and the service, just magnificent. Probably the most welcoming and tasteful restaurant we have been to in the area.
We stopped into YiaYia's Cafe for breakfast and immediately loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere. We were given the option of eating inside or outside, and with such beautiful weather, we chose a table on the deck. The ocean view made an already pleasant morning even more enjoyable. As someone who prefers a lighter breakfast, I was thrilled to find avocado toast and several other options that fit exactly what I was looking for. We started with two iced coffees, and I appreciated that they offered almond milk as a dairy-free alternative. I ordered the avocado toast, which is served on a pita rather than traditional bread. Topped with cucumber, tomato, and olives, it was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect light breakfast. My husband ordered an omelet and said it was fantastic. His only suggestion would be a larger portion of the breakfast potatoes, but otherwise he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The service was quick, accommodating, and very friendly throughout our visit. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, and attentive staff, this was a wonderful breakfast experience. We can't wait to come back and try some of their lunch offerings. We love Greek food, so when I found this place on Yelp and realized that it was just down the street from our hotel, well, it became a foregone conclusion that we would eat here !! And eat here, we did !! YiaYia's was so good. We ordered a bowl of lentil soup to share, which was delicious. Then, we each got our own pita sandwich. My husband ordered the GYRO PITA, which had grilled gyro meat, peppers, tomato, onion & tzatziki sauce, and I ordered an EGGPLANT PITA, which had fresh mozzarella, feta, grilled eggplant & olive oil, sitting open face on some grilled pita bread. We swapped half of our sandwiches, so we could each try the other's. We both liked the gyro pita a little more than mine (the eggplant), but make no mistake, they were BOTH GREAT. His was just a little bit better... so he told me afterward he was sorry he gave up his half sandwich... even though he liked the eggplant. I understood... but was secretly glad I got his half cuz it was really good. : ) We spoke with the owners, who were very nice. They asked us to come back, and while we said we would... and had every intention to do so cuz the food was so good, we just ran ourselves out of time. I was thinking we could get there for breakfast the next day, but it never happened... so for me, that just means we'll have to make good on the deal and get back to Newport (someday) and get that breakfast !! Located at the bottom of a quaint inn giving all the cape cod beach vibes, this cafe is just soothing to the soul. With a view of the water, and a patio seating option, I could come here every day! A small but perfect breakfast menu, I recommend the crepes or the make your own omelet. I ordered a decaf espresso and it was like I was in Europe again- perfect foam and served with a biscoff cookie. Food was spectacular, coffee was delicious and the vibe was the soul food I needed this morning. 1000/ 10 I definitely recommend and will be back! read more

I wasn't blown away by the food here, I've definitely had better Greek food at many other places, nevertheless lunch here was a really pleasant experience. The ambiance is really lovely and they have a great cup of coffee, so if you're looking for a relaxing view over the beach side of Newport, dining out on the deck here will definitely check that box. I went with the gyro pita and while I absolutely loved the crispy exterior--something I haven't seen before with a gyro sandwich--there was practically no meat in it. It was borderline a vegetable pita with tzatziki sauce. The lamb meatballs were really nice, super tender and a nice size portion. The chicken was on the drier side so I might avoid that. An enjoyable experience but not a memorable meal. read more

Quaint and charming, this little Cafe had fresh food, quick service, and a great staff. This cafe serves both authentic Greek food as well as other breakfast and lunch options. We got the sweet French toast with fruit, eggs and potatoes, a gyro, and the lemon potatoes (a must have)! The people in the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be eating here again! read more
Such a cute, friendly, relaxing, and warm place that makes you feel welcome, and like you're halfway to Greece! The owners, who are frequently working there in person are friendly, and cook so well from a delicious menu. My family and I especially love eating the omelet meals and pancakes. The outdoor seating is nice, and the cafe is open, spacious, and lovely to truly relax in. This is always a stop for my family and me when we go to Newport / Middletown. It is one of the places that genuinely makes me happy each time I visit and brings good memories. Believe me, you will definitely feel like you are in YiaYia's place and well cared for! read more
