The food was fresh and tasty. French toasts appetizer it was amazing. Mom had the Lisbon express she loved it.I had the Athena was very good. Service was nice and friendly, a little busy. The place has a homie vibe and I love it. Will be back.
Honestly, this place is worth the wait in line. The line actually goes pretty quick. This was our first stop once we got to Newport early that morning. I am such a traditionalist when it comes to breakfast, as long as I am not at a Mexican restaurant. So my goto would be two eggs overeasy, sausage, bacon, some sort of potato side, toast and a side of pancakes, and that's why I ordered The Beast. When somone else at the table gets something different they are always kind enough to share, which what happened at our table that morning The son-in-law order an omelete and I want to say it had salmon in it, and he let me have a piece and it was delishes. Our daughter ordered a sweet breakfast called the Portley's Portuguese French Toast, she liked it. The service was great, fast and efficient. The place is small but it works. They only have one restroom, so you will have to wait for it. I would definintely come back for breakfast.
Actually pretty good. We came here to enjoy tennis at the Newport Hall of famed and wanted brunch beforehand They're very, very, very small place. It's very tight. The line goes around the corner. Since it was just the two of us. They moved us ahead and had a seated at the bar which is not my preferred seating. But whatever. Maybe because it was Sunday and brunch hours were prime. California special Benedict. It came with avocado, toast, spinach, roasted vegetables, home fries. I added some pork sausage. It was a lot of food. I couldn't finish it all. I also got a cup of tea. They're tee options are not great. The other complaint I would have is that their bathroom is really insufficient. They have one bathroom for the entire establishment which is not acceptable. They actually have a waitlist for the bathroom. WTF. I get that they're small but they really need to fix that. That's not going to fly when they're very busy, especially during brunch hours. I don't know what their parking situation is but most of it's on the street and on Sunday it's free. Overall I think the price is okay given the quality of the food. All of my food plus my friends was over $60. It's a little bit on the high side if you ask me but given the food was tasty, I'll let it slide. I think if you're in the area you should give it a shot
This restaurant is a must go to if you're in Newport, RI! There's always a line, but it's worth the wait and it moves so fast! The service is the best I've seen! The owner checked on our table and the waiter was so attentive. The ambiance was very comforting. There's a lot of people fit into a small space, but it still feels so spacious. The food is amazing! They give you great portions, it comes out hot, and it's very flavorful. There's a variety of options which makes it so hard to choose from. I wish I could eat here every morning.
Love the food here. I ordered the california Benny. Potato is well season with pepper. Love the poach eggs, with spinach and pepper. Wife got the victoria omlette, which i think is ok, but she loved it. Kids got the French toast and pancake. They both love the food, and pretty much cleaned the plate. We sat in the corner, which is fitting since the name of the restaurant is corner cafe. It is a cute spot, like sitting in a bay window. Service is very attentive.
Great service. Delicious breakfast! This is a very cute place but does get busy but we were able to be seated within 10 minutes. Food came out fast as well and service was wonderful. The breakfast was really good and the potatoes were some of the best I've had in a while. Tried the cowboy scramble but there's a lot of unique options! If you're staying in the area, it's a short walk and worth it !!!

My friend and I were in the area on a weekday to visit the Audrain Automobile Museum and based on some reviews, we decided to have some breakfast here beforehand. It's a cute place, with plenty of parking in the area and about a dozen tables inside. Although it was a busy, the food came out at a good time and the service was good. I decided to have a typical breakfast - potatoes, English muffin, eggs, and bacon with an order of French toast for dessert. I was mostly excited about the potatoes because of what other customers commented; I was pleased with the pesto like flavor they had. The bacon was cooked well, but on the thinner end. The English muffin was grilled with butter, delicious. The French toast was simple, and regular bread was used (instead of the thick bread) so the syrup was able to penetrate through better. I would be happy to come back and try other items since their menu has a lot to offer.
I did not enjoy my food here, my partner did. I only liked the sausage, I found my french toast to be very dry. I also asked for no bananas and they quite literally hid them under whip cream specifically. Thank God I'm not allergic, they just overpower anything they are in and I tasted them immediately what a terrible thing to do to a customer. The real issue came with checking out. My partner, ask for the checked, she brought it and he immediately handed her his card. She takes it and starts to go but then the table next to us flags her down and she literally stops dead in her tracks to take care of them. Im talking taking full orders, answering questions etc meanwhile we are staring at her in disbelief. We have never had this happen to us in a restaurant. My partner said shes just a bad waitress, I believe it was implicit bias. At least im choosing to believe that over outright prejudice. Everything in her told her she could not leave these white people waiting while she wrapped up a check, but we, the black people absolutely could wait. It was just so bizarre. She was standing there that long with the other table with my partners card and check in hand that at one point she even glanced up because again, we have never experienced service like this and just blatantly held hostage while she tended to people she deemed more important. This was our only experience like this in Newport, we will back to Newport but will not be back here.
What a cute place! Beth was an awesome server who, thankfully, told me to try the Wooten's French Toast with the DELICIOYS, homemade Pecan Maple Butter before using syrup... great advice! I had 2 eggs over easy on the side as well. It is a popular place with delicious and unique food, so expect a line outside. YUMMY!
absolutely delicious!! i had a party of 6, and i tried 1 bite of what everyone else had, and everything was so good. it was not crowded, it was just my party in there (it was at 4 so not lunch or breakfast rush), so it was very chill. she asked where we wanted to sit and we chose this beautiful corner by the window, it had a comfy bench with pillows and 2 chairs on the other side. i'm dissapointed that i didn't get a burger, it all looked so good!! the wrap was still great though. the woman was very sweet and i loved her! she complimented my outfit as well which made me happy :) this was delicious and such a beautiful and kid friendly area! i'm on vacation, so i'm very sad that i won't be going here again for a while. but if im ever in newport again, i will definitely be going here!!
We heard so much about this place and finally got to try it out! We waited outside for about 10 minutes, and we're seated in a really nice comfy booth. Service was very good, all staff were friendly and kind! The food was decent. Really depends on what you get. The California Benny was delicious, perfectly poached egg, fresh ingredients with peppers and spinach. Home fries are the large potato kind. Do not recommend multigrain French toast with apples.. The mix of ingredients did not gel well at all. But the staff was very kind and gave us our money back! On the other hand, the spice chai latte was delicious! We wanted to come back and get it to go, too bad they do not take to go orders.
Adorable cafe in Newport. Cozy small got here very early and didn't have to wait but you could see how busy it could get. We're in the off-season too! Sweetest wait service .. love the accent!!! food was very yummy. Price is really reasonable. I definitely must go to for breakfast when in the area.
The Corner Cafe has never, and I repeat, never disappointed. The Claudia's Pick (veggie omelet) with a bolo and spicy ranch is my go to because it is perfect in every way. The veggies are super fresh, the home fries are full of flavor and the spicy ranch is so good, I wish they sold it in bottles. The service is also something that can't be beat, everyone is super friendly and treats you like a regular even if it's your first visit. Even though the location appears small there is tons of seating and also some outside dining when the weather cooperates. Hot tip: It can get pretty busy and the line to wait is outside, so be mindful of that. Also, it is BYOB and there are a couple if places near by to pick up some bubbles for a Saturday morning mimosa. read more
What a lovely and quaint location on a Main Street location heading to Newport Marina! We were highly recommended by a wonderful and intelligent young woman to try this spot for Breakfast if we are in Newport! We took her advice and yes this place was quaint, inviting and very busy but it was a holiday in A historic Newport! We waited briefly to sit outdoors in the bright morning sun which was very close to the 12 O'Clock time! We did sit for a long while before being approached even for coffee or welcoming us but we all understood it was busy for 1 to handle maybe 7 tables that were filled! But, at some point I had to get up and go inside to politely say we had been waiting longer than one should expect! A moment or two our waitress came to take our beverage order and then after enjoying our coffee she came to take our Breakfast order, I chose the Holiday Special Omelette, which were two listed! The Shrimp and Prosciutto Omelette with Avocado sounded Amazing so that was my Choice! We all ordered! When it all arrived we took photos of each and they all looked very tasty! Anticipating my breakfast I delved into my Omelette and ate a bite and it was very tasty, took another bite still very tasty.....I paused and wondered " Where is the Shrimp and Prosciutto and Avocado?" I told my family member, I don't see either, we joked she said "maybe it's chopped... ". So, I flagged the waitress and asked her if this is what I ordered and she said, " She made a mistake thinking there were only one Special Omelette and apologized and will have one made immediately! I said Ok, she left and we joked about the Staff and then THE OMELETTE ARRIVED! It was spectacular looking and even better tasting! Unfortunately, my family already finished but it was OK! We sat still enjoying more coffee and then without being aware accidentally spilled coffee on my families slacks but we chose NOT to mention it! It was obviously this Waitress should have had additional help to take care of the outside guests! She was polite and did her best but she was overwhelmed! She brought the Check and she did mention she would remove my Omelette from the Bill as a courtesy for the error! That was acceptable and nice of this Cafe to do that! Kristina was working hard to take care of us as she seemed to be only waitress on duty. We loved sitting outside on this beautiful day. Everyone loved their lunch. The avocado toast was delicious with the goat cheese, sun-dried tomato and red onion . My friend only had half her burrito which was stuffed with shrimp, avocado and feta. With a side salad it was enough for two meals. Highly recommend this for a wonderful lunch in Newport. read more

There was quite a line when we arrived, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. There was seating indoors & outdoors, but we chose outdoors because the indoor seating was quite dim. We ordered the egg, bacon, and potato sourdough plates & the Longhorn burger with fries, and the pancakes topped with yogurt, raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry. Everything was delicious. The potatoes were especially well seasoned, and the Longhorn burger was cooked perfectly. All the portions were good. The service was excellent. It was sometimes hard because our server was inside, but she was very nice. FYI, there are a lot of bees outside so be aware!!! read more
Delicious breakfast in a cute restaurant with chill vibes. It's a popular place so get there around 8:30 and you won't have to stand in the long line that starts to form after 9:30. We ate at the bar and were able to chat with the staff who were super friendly. He ordered pancakes and bacon and I got the cinnamon French toast, bacon and an iced caramel cappuccino. The food portions are big so neither of us could finish. My iced cappuccino was smaller than I was expecting but was delicious. read more

We went here for breakfast right before 9am yesterday and there was already a line outside the restaurant. They had both outdoor and indoor seating, which made the line move quickly. We only waited for about 10 minutes before getting our table. We had blueberry pancakes, hash browns, and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was amazing here! We really loved the blueberry pancakes, they were bursting with blueberries and so tasty! The hash browns also were super unique and had a spiced olive oil topping, that was really good! We enjoyed all of the food here and would wait again to go here in the future! read more

Love this place. It is my go to when I'm in Newport . It's cozy and the staff is always friendly . Today I had the California Benny . So good ! Served on a thick slice of sour dough. Homefries were super tasty and seasoned. Enjoyed a nice honey cinnamon latte . read more
Probably the most popular restaurant in Newport- there was a line out the door. While waiting, we were served a nice fruit juice- appreciate the attentiveness of the staff! After waiting 20 min we got a table at the bar. The restaurant itself is small, with a few outdoor seating options. We were recommended the omelette, crab cake eggs Benedict, and Portuguese French toast. The omelette was excellent and cooked to perfection. I wasn't a huge fan of the crab portion of the eggs Benedict probably because I didn't think the mushy consistency went well with the dish. The French toast was also good and you may get away without adding syrup since it is already sweet and moist. Overall the staff is very nice and friendly. Would recommend this place if you're in town visiting read more

My mind was blown! It is very busy which typically I don't like.. but here I am MORE than okay with it!!! The waitresses I had were just amazing kind and considerate! The food.. I was NOT expecting how absolutely amazing it was! I had the Claudia's pick with rye bread and it just so yummy!! My fiancé had the Luna burrito and highly enjoyed it. I am definitely coming back and I am going to recommend it to EVERYONE! read more

Lovely spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Tried out some lunch items, to include the burgers. Sat outside because it was sunny and they have a small seating area with umbrella coverage. Options for burgers sides: Fries, side of the day, and salad. The house salad is very generous, lots of fresh, thick cut veggies, especially the tomatoes. The Anna's Bolo Burger was a nice black angus steak with tons of vegetables, complemented very nicely with the bolo bun, which kind of reminds me of a Hawaiian roll because it's a little sweet. The Longhorn burger is good for spice lovers as it comes with jalapeneos and pepper jack cheese. The burger was medium rare, and it was honestly a little overpowered by the toppings. The sourdough was an odd choice for that burger because it was rather crunchy and hard to eat. The Anna's Bolo Burger was definitely the better of the two burgers! Dog friendly patio as well. Saw lots of puppies out! read more

This is at least 5+, or higher. We were lucky as our wait to be seated for breakfast was less than 10 minutes. Perfect busy breakfast spot ambiance (love busy breakfast places). Coffee was excellent, and my coffee mug was sooo huggable... I had shrimp eggs Benedict from the specials menu. The seasoning on the shrimp was possibly the best ever. Poached eggs were just spot on, perfectly cooked and runny, with delicious sauce, spectacular overall. We also shared French toast from the specials menu, which was delicious. Ultra-friendly service, prompt, attentive. Most highly recommended. read more
