Honestly, this wasn't our first choice for breakfast. We originally planned to go somewhere else, but that location had a bunch of emergency vehicles outside, so we decided to head to Belle's instead--and I'm so glad we did. To get there, you walk through a shipyard where you can see boats and yachts being serviced, which I thought was pretty cool. The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us outside. With the weather being nice, we had views of the harbor, the boats, and the bridge. Our server was also incredibly friendly and brought our coffees out quickly. The food here was excellent. I had the corned beef hash with eggs over easy--solid choice. But the real standout was wifey's dish: Belle's Benedicts with crab cakes. The crab cakes were honestly some of the best we've had in a long time. If you're in the area and looking for a great spot for breakfast, definitely check out Belle's.
Service: nothing necessarily special about it, we waited about 20 minutes to get seated for four during a Saturday at 1PM which if you ask me that's not bad at all. Food: honestly super good, they also had an option of a lobster roll for $34 which I personally think is cheap in comparison to spots in Boston etc Ambiance: we were sitting outside next to the water it was honestly so beautiful I would definitely come again!
This place kept getting recommended on all the tours we went on so because of that I just knew that it had to be some tourist trap that probably wasn't even great but boy was I wrong! This is the best lobster roll ever and I don't even normally like cold lobster rolls I prefer the warm style. I always mix up the state names so that's why I didn't say which but this is a cold lobster roll and it was delicious. The pasta salad was also very good. The staff were friendly but very slow at the end it took forever to get the check back. Overall relaxing vibes and I would return when back in Newport
Spending the weekend in Newport and swung by for a late breakfast/early lunch. I was relieved to discover that although their breakfast specials only go until 11am, breakfast and lunch are both served all day! :) We arrived around 1pm, and the wait time was about 35 minutes. Not a problem as there's shaded areas to sit or walk around while you wait. There's both indoor and outdoor seating- outdoors you're literally immersed in the harbor and eating like 20 feet from boats and the ocean! Food was so tasty- my sister kept raving about the Shipyard Sandwich. The croissant was soft/warm/flaky and the eggs were cooked perfectly (although she wished the yolk was a little runnier). The salad has breaded chicken nestled warmly under the bed of greens! Perfectly crispy, the capers added a great bunch of flavor, and the tomatoes added a nice touch. The burger was soft and juicy, and cooked exactly how I wanted. The mimosa was delicious, but quite small for $14. The glass wasn't even filled up halfway.
Belles in Newport is such a special spot! The breakfast is absolutely amazing, and the ambiance is unbeatable--being right in a shipyard gives it such a unique and charming coastal vibe. I had the French toast, which was delicious and perfectly done, and paired it with a mimosa that was just as great. Everything from the food to the setting makes this place a must-visit when you're in Newport. Can't wait to come back!
My family and I had a great experience at Bell's Café in Newport. We waited 45 minutes to be seated since they do not take reservations. And once we had ordered our food, it took about thirtyish minutes to arrive to the table. The ambience and outdoor scenery Was great! Service staff hosts and bar staff were also pleasant. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but definitely the Newport vibe. And the prices were very reasonable, especially for the area that it's in. Keep in mind that they do not have traditional style parking so you either have to park using the street meters or find a day rate lot. Overall, the best things about bells Café, where the staff and the scenery !
Coffee was so good! It was nice and smooth. I had a make your own omelette with peppers, onion and American cheese. Everything tasted fresh. It was packed with tiny peppers, and the perfect amount of onion. I was happy with the amount of cheese, others might want more. The English muffin was toasted perfectly with lots of buttery goodness. Home fries were very flavorful, just a few peppers and onions mixed in, perfectly cooked. Fruit was nice and fresh. Seating is all outdoors, under tents. Waits can be really long, but on a Monday morning at 10 ish, it was less than 5 minutes for the two of us. Staff was friendly and attentive!
Came here on recommendation from wyndham. Great location. Good menu options, very friendly service. I ordered a make your own omlette with cheese, bacon, mushrooms and spinach, came with home potatoes (omg these were amazong) and im not big on them and toast. Had coffee. My mom ordered lobster Benedict and it was amazing. She had iced coffee. We will be back
What a spot! Walking in, the views were lovely and the seating areas were so chic. The staff were super friendly even while they were busy. Then, to top it all off, our brunch was so yummy. Baby was happy with his pancakes, and we were with the crab cake benedict and yardbird panini. But my favorite part of the meal? The french toast muffin- even had to grab one to go!
Food is amazing! Make sure you sit on the counter to enjoy the view! Service is fast and smooth.
Cute brunch place but tad on the pricier side. It's nice to be near the waterfront though. The crab ($40) and lobster ($50) Benedict / roll was tasty!
This was our favorite breakfast spot while in Newport! Located in the Marina and you actually get to walk through the boat section! So fun seeing how large boats are out of water and up close! There was a long wait, we waited for 1 hr 15 mins but honestly worth it. There are couches to hang while waiting and the weather was perfect so we were not complaining! We got to watch a few boat teams prep and set sail, so cool seeing that! The food all looked amazing watching everyone's come out! We already knew what we wanted by the time we sat down lol Pancakes were great and the Lox sandwich hit the spot! We also had a burger which was cooked just right. Even though the wait was long the hostess was keeping us updated and staff was all very nice and efficient! Overall great experience!
September in Newport... Easy to get a table but the long, lingering sun of summer. Belle's didn't disappoint! And those big boats!

This place is so great! They let me create my own breakfast sandwich, which I'm now calling the Belle's Boot-mill! I swapped out the croissant for an English muffin and added an over-easy egg, home-fried potatoes, and crispy bacon. It's absolute gold! Picture of their normal sandwich next to my creation... which I'm assuming they'll be adding to the menu any day now. Highly recommend this place! Guy Fieri, get your ass here STAT! read more

The hostess was polite and prompt The waitress on the other hand took her time with us and then when we ordered didn't even take our drink order. Then they served our food, but forgot my youngest boys breakfast (which was only pancakes on the kids menu). Then in the middle of him eating his mail while we were waiting she just dropped the check and said no rush instead of just waiting for him to finish up. Lastly, we paid our bill and then the waitress said oh wait I forgot to add your drinks to the check. This was funny because she forgot our drink water, and I had to go up and order our drinks, but yet she did remember at the last second to add them on which was too funny. The food was nothing special, but overall satisfactory. What you really are paying for is the ambience and the view out to the ocean. read more

Hi Time K., we are sorry to hear you had a negative experience while…
You do have to enter the dock by walking past the guard at the entrance. There is both patio and indoor seating. The service was great. It was only topped by the food. The hollandaise sauce was excellent. The portion size was good. I was able to trade out for gluten free bread which was nice. The weather was great so it was nice to watch the boats, the water go by while enjoying breakfast. Definitely worth a stop for breakfast. read more

Had a great experience at Belle's! Our server was super nice and helpful, when we asked if it was "too crazy to get a side of lobster with the buttermilk pancakes," she didn't even blink. Total judge-free zone, and she made it happen! The pancakes were tasty, and the lobster was absolutely amazing. Loved the outdoor seating too, can't beat that waterfront view. Would definitely come back! read more

Hi Jessyca, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at…
Their crab cake benedict was DELICIOUSSS! That's saying a lot coming from a person who usually doesn't like breakfast foods. So happy I gave this a try. I don't think I could ever go back to a regular eggs benedict after having this one. On a breezy day, Belle's is pure morning relaxation. Great people watching and cute view of the water and ships. Getting to the restaurant is a little tricky, though. There was someone guiding us towards to restaurant but you essentially have to walk through the shipyard area before reaching the black and white tiles that lead you to the restaurant. read more

Hi Kyle, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with…
Trolley Rob recommended Belle's, and we are so glad we quickly walked through the parking lot because we were the last to be seated at 2:20 pm. After all, they closed at 3 pm. We were seated by a lovely lady who placed us at a two-top, which was great because they have the best view as they are closest to the Yachts. Our server was kind and helpful. I got a glass of Prosecco and a cup of clam chowder. Both of them were good. The best was our twin lobster roll, which comes with a side; we got potato salad, a pickle, and two lobster rolls. The potato salad was delicious. The best was the lobster roll that was overflowing with lobster. I took some claws out, cut them up, and ate them with the bib lettuce that might have just been there for decor. I made little bib lobster wraps. read more

Was looking for a nice breakfast place and saw some good reviews. It also came highly recommended by the hotel I was staying at and it was relatively close. It's got a wonderful location right on the water and the weather was nice so I was able to grab a seat on the patio. I ordered the cake Benedict with a cup coffee. I thought it was a very reasonabley priced for crabcake Benedict and the portion was massive! My food and drink came out in rapid speed and enjoyed every bite. Would highly recommend if you are in Newport and want a nice relaxing by the water! read more

We were in Newport for a wedding and were staying downtown, which allowed for us to walk everywhere for meals. Over a four day stay we ate at Belle's every morning because the food was amazing and the service was equally exceptional. The lobster rolls were delicious, the pancakes were perfect, and my soft scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. I included a picture of the lobster Benedict which tasted excellent. The restaurant is in a shipyard which makes for cool sightseeing as you're walking through the yard as different vessels are being worded on. This will be one of the best dining experiences you'll have while you're in Newport. We were here in the middle of April before the busy season. We leave tomorrow to head back to California, and of course we're having breakfast again at Belle's before heading home. read more

Checked out this place because it consistently popped up in our searches as one of the recommend places to eat when in Newport. Had high hopes but had to admit I was a tad disappointed with our experience here. It probably had to do with our luck, but my friends and I came at a busy time and ended up waiting around 40 minutes to be seated, which we were fine with waiting but it ended up being a longer wait than we were told to expect so I think that dampened the excitement before we started to eat. I ordered the eggs Benedict and I have no complaints. In particular I really liked their home fries- the seasoning was on point!! I think it was that we were expecting more given that we waited so long. Again probably just our luck--so I would say this place is good but nothing extraordinary. I still think it's a solid place to get brunch but it's all about managing expectations, which I learned the hard way. read more

Hidden breakfast gem of Newport. Belle's is tucked into the Newport Shipyard, you would never realize they were there. It's amazing to sit outside in the summer and see all the beautiful boats while looking into the harbor. Food is made fresh to order, the potatoes were my favorite. read more

This place is ... a little overhyped. The ambiance is very nice. It's gives a vibe for sure, but all that is definitely not worth THE WAIT. Oh lord it was truly bad. If you're hungry when you wake up, don't come here. They have a to-go window that moves a little faster. We got coffees from there thinking that would hold us over but that don't work. The list being managed literally by pen and paper and by a high school kid so anyone that applied pressure got their seating. I would advise going to a text system for sure. The wait turned me off completely. read more

It's been a couple years since I had been to Belles and boy has it grown. When it first started, I remember ordering at the counter and then them bringing our food to us. Now they have a hostess stand who told us it would be about a 25 minute wait for lunch. (it was a beautiful June day) It was less than that and we were seated at a lovely table. I had my favorite which is their amazing avocado toast with eggs on the side. My husband had the chowder, which I tasted and it was delicious. He had the tuna melt and loved it. Every time I've gone the food has been consistently very, very good. Its always such a nice spot to sit outside. It's too well known now to keep a secret so I highly recommend it! Forgot the pics of the food because we were too busy looking at all the yachts. read more
