This is the coffee bar! The place was packed! Literally a roped off line in front. Once inside people are chatting, laughing, eating, drinking, awesome vibe! The employees are all friendly and cool. I asked the barista for her favorite drink and breakfast item, she ordered me a guacamole everything bagel and an iced chocolate malt latte float, 5 shots of espresso in that thing, Amazing! I was with a bunch of people and everyone got a drink and everyone loved it. We had an awesome time in Newport and The Nitro Bar played a part in that.
I've never seen so many Gen Zers at any one spot at one time. Seems to have a line that reaches outside but it moves relatively fast. Everything did taste high quality and the menu it's unique and interesting. Everything on the menu is also pricey. If you're not in a rush, it's cool place to try and get a drink with flavors you probably never had before. Is it worth all the type it gets, Im not sure of that.
The pesto bagel was great, hearty portion, and the pesto cream cheese was absolutely fantastic. Their spicy sun-dried tomato cream cheese is also fantastic and the perfect amount of spice. Their coffees are great and staff is friendly, lots of fun and seasonal options, next time would try it less sweet. The whip top is a must try!
The biggest question is "is it worth the line" and honestly yeah. We waited maybe 30 mins (I wouldn't wait any longer than that). The staff was all nice. They accept Apple Pay. Merch is way too expensive (not worth it). They gave me whip on my latte when I didn't ask for it, so it was WAY too sweet for me and so I didn't finish it, but if they hadn't put any whip on it, it would have been perfect (I also asked for it half sweet). Now the breakfast sandwich was awesome. The perfect amount of arugula so it wasn't over powering and they put the aiolis on the side so you could just put as much as you wanted on it. Would 100% recommend. I would also recommend the lattes but just know if you get a whip or malt it's going to taste like ice cream

They have coffees with this icing type of topper, very tasty but very sweet. If you're with a bach party - this is the spot because we saw about 5 groups of them LOL. Def a spot to stop at if you have time and want a Newport RI trendy coffee moment. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but it is very limited. They also have pastries and what looked like open face bagel sandwiches which looked yummy but we did not try.

The cookie butter whip with the cookie crumbles is as delicious as it looks. Inside the cafe, they have sweatshirts, mugs, and bags. They also had a good amount of tables but I can definitely see it being tight when it is peak times. Note that they don't have much parking so walking is your best bet.

Am I in a small town coffee shop or watching the line to ride steel vengeance on Memorial Day weekend? I sat remorsefully reading a book with an empty cortado glass wondering how many patrons were glaring at me for not giving up the seat (and probably soaking up what little oxygen remained inside needlessly). I sat in a traffic jam (inside the shop) planning my exiting path through the throng of people waiting to order for several minutes. The coffee is fantastic. My cortado two Sundays in a row has been consistently flavorful, punchy, and delightful. The banana bread was delicious. The staff however seem overwhelmed and it shows JB the service. "Can I have the bread warmed?" "We can't do that." "Thank you for the coffee and food." "Your cup and plates go over there." Highly recommend the coffee and food. Just don't expect to enjoy it on site. Postscript If you're looking to start a coffee shop, across the street from here would be a perfect venue to siphon off the customers waiting in 10 degree weather just enter the store.
Coffee was delicious and made fresh! My friend got a matcha raspberry latte, she felt it needed more raspberry and one of the staff easily accommodated that request. The line was long and we were told by customers leaving it would be over an hour. It wasn't true, took less than 30 minutes. Glad we waited! It was busy, decent amount of seats and we were able to get a nice spot to sit. Ambiance was lively.
Nitro Bar is one of those places that just feels good to walk into. It is bright, clean, and has a really welcoming vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes everyone feel at home. You can tell they value inclusivity and create a space where all kinds of people feel comfortable and seen. Even when it is busy (which it often is), they stay courteous and upbeat. It is clear they care about the experience just as much as the coffee. The menu has a great variety of coffee and tea drinks. The nitro cold brew is a must try, super smooth and refreshing. The lavender honey latte is also a favorite, and if you are into matcha, theirs is fantastic. They also have some great pastries. The croissants and banana bread are especially good. Go early if you can since it fills up fast. But whether you are grabbing a quick drink or hanging out for a bit, it is a lovely stop in Newport.
The Nitro Bar has really blown up over the past year! I still love the quality of their drinks, their space, their service and their love of what they do and who they serve. That is what makes them so loved by the community. Just be ware: the prices are rather expensive even for Newport. While the peppermint mocha whip was amazing, it was $11 after tax. Add in a tip and damn! It's def a spot for a once in a while treat. I count afford an $80 a week coffee bill. Def check it out!
Nitro Bar's iced seasonal matchas are such a summer staple for me. However, I have a few hopes for The Nitro Bar. My first hope is that the ordering process could be improved. The place is so popular, but the wait is just too long in the hot summer sun. It would be great if they could create a pre-ordering system or perhaps a bigger storefront to churn out their food and drink orders. Also, when you are finally able to get your drinks and food, there also isn't enough seating inside and there are only two tables outside. Having said all that, this place is really amazing. It's staffed very well in that multiple people are taking orders, making drinks behind the bar, and making food in the kitchen. I've never seen that kind of staffing in a coffee shop, and applaud the owner(s) for making sure there is enough personnel working! As for drinks, I loved their caramelized banana matcha but their caramelized banana latte is superb to all lattes I've ever had. For food, the pizza bagel is famous but a tad too salty for me. Their matcha cookie and vegan tahini chocolate chip cookie are great to munch on, and are big and chewy. I know some people love a thin crispy cookie, but I prefer a chewiness to my cookies. I've also tried their pesto mozz tomato toast and that was surprisingly yummy - for $11.50, the portion size could be bigger, but it's wonderfully done.

Since the Thames Street location looked even more packed, we decided to give it another shot the next day. Came back around 1:30 PM (in the middle of some heavy rain), and we were luckily able to order right away before a line started growing behind us. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, which was sweet but tasted a bit watered down. I wasn't super impressed with the coffee compared to the hype. Tip: Finding a parking spot wasn't easy so keep that in mind if you're on a tight schedule.

This place is everythinggggg I will be returning tomorrow! I've been watching their videos for a year and finally made it out here!! The farmers bagel was chefs kissy! Perfectly flavored and layered. The cookie butter whipped matcha top 3 I ever had it was nutty smooth and balanced. If you're one to usually ask for less sweet this place you don't have too it's perfectly sweet. Disclaimer: I did spill my coffee on my white dress because of the cold foam lid not being secure so keep that in mind. I ordered a Farmers Bagel (with the spicy sun-dried tomato cream cheese, plain bagel), and it was excellent. I think it would be better if you add an egg or some protein, but the bagel was soft on the inside but firm on the outside. The cream cheese was great but not a full coat, which I thought was strange. I like a thin layer of cream cheese but I think it was rushed so I get why it wasn't evenly spread, no worries. I also ordered the seasonal chocolate malt latte and it was delicious. It's like if melted chocolate ice cream were a coffee. The food and drinks are delicious, but this place is way too popular for its own good. It is pretty pricey and a very small place. The decor is great and the workers are helpful. Definitely a little overhyped but I understand why. It was just a little overwhelming for me. read more

I first saw Nitro Bar through social media and loved their seasonal drinks and the variety on the menu. I told myself when I had to opportunity to go to Rhode Island I had to try it. A year later, the opportunity finally came but I was sadly disappointed. We waited about 25 minutes in line which was expected. We tried the caramelized banana latte, whipped cookie butter latte and a chai. The two lattes honestly tasted the same, neither one having any banana or cookie butter flavor, just a generic sweetness to it. The chai was what you'd expect, nothing exceptional. Overall we weren't impressed but I do hope to try other seasonal drinks if I'm ever back in the area read more

Pretty good food, and very fun drinks! I like how they seem to have rotating flavors. This place had quite a long wait and limited seating, but people shuffle in and out pretty quickly. Got the nitro caramelized banana latte (just tasted like syrup) and breakfast bowl (it was alright, nothing incredible). Overall I feel the place had a lot of hype and was just okay. read more

Got the viral caramelized banana iced latte and added sea salt maple whip for my fiance he loved it, I got the cherry vanilla matcha which was good the coffee was better! I also got the pizza bagel and it was INCREDIBLE! I am still thinking about it, I ordered ahead for pick up on a Saturday morning and it took about an hour! When I walked up there was a line so I'm glad I ordered ahead, the vibe of the store and workers is exactly what you see on tiktok read more

This place went viral but for good reason! There was a long line on a Sunday morning but it went along quickly. The place itself is small but has some indoor and outdoor seating. I chose a cherry vanilla latte with the nitro coffee and it was delicious. I would definitely come back because their coffee flavors are unique and worth it!! read more

Love the Nitro Bars all over Rhode Island, very friendly service at all 3 that I've been to. This was my first time coming to the one on Pond street and I love it! It's small and crowded even in the winter! My drink was the only one that wasn't good but my husband shared his and so did my daughter. read more
My dad and I drive an hour to come to this coffee shop every summer. We love it! Very reliable never disappoints. This is my favorite location. I love their chorizo with salsa verde wrap and tried their coffee cake for the first time today which was also good but I liked the carrot cake we got better. For drinks I have only had their plain nitro and it's amazing. Notes of chocolate. If you are into coffee you will appreciate theirs and be able to tell its high quality. We came on a Friday around 11:45 and it wasn't too crowded at all. Their online ordering system works well, was ready right when we got there. Baristas are very friendly and they have indoor seating. read more
I'll admit, this place got me. I came in with low expectations knowing it's a "trendy" place but it's low key with it... the chai is delicious. Not just watery mix. The coffee is also delicious, a great smooth flavor. This was my favorite coffee shop by far in the area. There can be a wait so be warned.. I think the earlier you go the better. There isn't a lot of space inside and I'm not sure if they have restrooms. The service was so friendly every day we came though. read more

Tiktok brain made me and my fam come here both days of our trip to newport. We went once to this location and once to the thames spot as well. I tried both seasonal nitro flavors (blueberry and caramelized banana) and loved both. The chantilly cake is nice and soft and the pizza bagel surprised me w how yummy it was. i've been coming to nitro bar since 2021 and it's been amazing to see how much it's grown and gained popularity over the years. it still has the same great vibe, and the drinks are amazing as ever. there's typically a long line, especially on a summer weekend, but you can order ahead and skip the line. there isn't much seating but newport has so many amazing spots go sit by the water to enjoy your food and drinks! no big deal. i waited in line for about 15-20 min on a summer weekday at 11am. line looked long but moved. everyone working there was super kind and friendly. i've seen people on tiktok say the staff seem miserable, but what i saw was focus. it's a busy, viral coffeeshop & they're cranking out like 10 specialty drinks a minute.. idk how they do it. maybe people should be a little more patient and say thanks instead of judging someone they just met lol bc if you actually talk to them they're so kind! most importantly, the caramelized banana latte with espresso is absolutely unreal!!! i really hope they keep it on the menu permanently bc it's one of the best coffees i've ever had. i also really love their bagels and overnight oats. love this spot so much and you must stop by when you visit newport! read more
After seeing so many tiktoks about Nitro Bar, we decided to stop by on a Friday morning. At that point, the line was out the door but it was moving at a decent speed. We probably waited 20 minutes and I ended up getting a matcha. There were a couple tables and bar seats inside, but with how busy it was, seating was limited. My matcha wasn't bad but since it was sweetened with honey, it tasted slightly off to me. I would come back to try some food or another drink! read more
There was less than a five minute wait which was surprising for a Sunday. The cafe is cute but small. I had the banana iced latte which was sweet and delicious. The ricotta and tomato breakfast sandwich was amazing! I would definitely recommend Nitro Bar for a delicious breakfast! read more

Unfortunately the Nitro bar is too consistently INCONSISTENT for the price. On my most recent visit I ordered a blueberry watermelon lemonade and it had no lemonade only watermelon (I watched her make it). Unfortunately the espresso machine broke down minutes before my latte so I got a fruit-loop matcha instead and it had too much matcha where you couldn't enjoy the other flavors. read more

I was in the area and decided to stop by the Nitro Bar's second location. I ordered a small lavender latte with espresso and it was a great pick me up! This location was much more clean and up to date compared to the Providence location. Line was long, but service was quick! read more

Saw this place on tiktok and wanted to try their matcha! It was really good. If you like matcha, definitely try this place. The strawberry matcha was delicious. I'm really glad I got to experience this place. read more
Wasn't busy when I came and the staff were very friendly. Their banana latte was really good, you could actually taste the banana and the breakfast sandwich was also really good. It did however take what I felt was an unusually long amount of time to make I almost started to wonder if they had forgotten about it. read more
First time here- there was a line so it took about 5 min to order. I figured it would be busy because it's all over social media. I was actually expecting to be disappointed- but was so surprised it was a great experience. Many times with social media- places aren't worth the hype, but I would return. The barista gave me a recommendation and helped me narrow down to 2 options. The prices were very reasonable too. The inside was very nicely designed and you can see them making the drinks & even preparing food. The Blueberry Matcha was my FAVORITE! I personally am not a typical matcha latte person & it was good. I did enjoy the Caramelized Banana Latte topped with Nitro- it was for sure a new experience for me, it was just more sweet than I prefer my lattes. read more
My favorite Nitro Bar location! Love the ambiance and how this location was decorated. Quick service as well when I went during the week day. I ordered the iced Cherry Vanilla Latte with Nitro cold brew and the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. Both were yummy! I went back and got a maple sea salt latte with espresso another time which tasted great as well! If you want to try the nitro bar, I would definitely suggest this location! read more

came to the nitro bar and the ambiance and music was amazing! I got the bacon, egg and cheese English muffin and it was delicious. I got a vanilla iced latte and it was ok! The service was amazing by both servers. Definitely recommend ! read more

I would say so! It's pretty quiet, and even though seating is limited, it's usually not crazy crowded. Also the cookies make great study snacks!
