The taproom here is huge - acoustics can be a little tricky if they have live music, so you may want to check their events page ahead of time if you want to be able to hear your company clearly. That said, I've seen some great local artists here - everything from a 4 person DMB cover band to a solo acoustic performer with an angelic voice. A+ for putting effort into the programming! The beer list is quite long. I love their sours when they have them on top, which isn't always but a good portion of the time. Other than sours their beers are not my most favorite in the world, but still yummy with lots of variety to taste around. Moniker Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Providence, Rhode Island in January 2021. It was…read morefounded by business partners Bryan Benedict, Jeff Goodno, Ben Estes, Ted Pease and Jean Lombard. Benedict left a career in IT in order to turn his craft beer hobby into a full time job. He worked as a sales rep and brand manager for a wholesaler before becoming the director of marketing and sales at Connecticut-based Beer'd Brewing Company. He dreamed of opening his own brewery, so he partnered with Goodno, who had 15+ years of experience working for breweries such as Taproot, Victory Brewing, and SOME Brewing. Estes, who had formerly worked at Proclamation Ale Company and the Guild, was hired as the head brewer. Pease and Lombard, who had experience with tax laws and other skills, were the last partners to come on board. They set up shop in a former auto body. Benedict chose the name "Moniker" to strip away the focus on brand egos and instead focus entirely on the taproom experience, the community, and the beer. The brewery became notable for their wide repertoire of beer styles, even earning praise from Hop Culture Magazine. In May 2026, Moniker purchased Ravenous Brewing in Cumberland with plans to rebrand it as "Moniker North". I recently visited Moniker Brewery while I was passing through Providence. They had been on my list for a while. The place was small and cozy but inviting with a decent amount of indoor seating. There is also patio seating outside, but it was a little too wet and chilly on the day of my visit. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the draught menu. There was a nice eclectic mix of styles. I ordered a sampler flight which included "L.H. Czech Dark" (Tmavé), "Midnight Rodeo" (Dark Mexican Lager), "Blinded by Nostalgia" (IPA), "Stay Cool Drink Moniker" (Hazy Pale Ale), and "It's Called Sightseeing" (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Tripel). Drinks were excellent, the entertainment added just the right touch, and the whole experience felt effortlessly fun. My only suggestion for improvement would be the barbacoa tacos. The version we had was more like shredded beef and a bit dry. True barbacoa is rich, tender, and full of flavor, so I know this dish could be even better with a few tweaks. Also offer a fish taco. The shrimp tacos are good, but everyone knows there's no New England shrimp. Or at least have a fish and chips option. There's plenty of cod and haddock. Heck a fish sandwich would suffice. That said, one menu item certainly won't keep us away. Noman's has created something special--a place where families gather, friends reconnect, visitors feel like locals, and summer memories are made. We are locals and frequent this place, so we'll definitely be back.
