    Pancakes & bananas
    Mitch P.

6 of us came for breakfast and really enjoyed the restaurant and the food. My wife really enjoyed her Farmers omelette and a muffin and I had 2 pancakes with maple syrup with bananas and orange juice that I really enjoyed. Laurie was a very attentive server who made sure we all had what we wanted, as there were some subtractions and additions to what was on the menu.

This has been a Christmas girls day tradition for years. We first went in 2019 to see the balls and get hot coca. We fell in love with the location and our waitress, Jamie. It became a staple for us. We kept coming back for French onion soup, sandwiches, omelettes and more. Each time it provided the same magical experience. Today Shelia helped us and she was just as great as Jamie. This spot is simple, but the people and the Christmas balls create a wonderful luncheon every time!

Cute diner, friendly staff, and tasty food. I can see why this place is popular. Tight squeeze for some tables. My boyfriend got bumped as people walked by and his coffee spilled. The doors blow open when it's windy so the nice ladies working had to repeatedly make sure both doors were securely closed properly to avoid the gusts of winter air coming in. I had the soup and half sandwich combo. The chicken salad sandwich on rye was delicious and the French onion soup was fantastic too. My boyfriend enjoyed his Maryland Crabcake Benedict. It was fun visiting this local favorite.

Food: Nice spot for a quick breakfast stop. We both got a quiche with homefries and a side of corn beef hash. And coffee which was regular. The quiche dishes were so good and cheesy. I loved it. Service: The staff were really nice and fast. We had a great waitress who was so friendly. Ambiance: It's a cute little diner spot that gives you a blast from the past vibe. Very old school including their decor. The seating arrangement can get a bit cramped as you can easily reach over to the neighboring tables. But it's still a good spot and it's in the middle of a very walkable and busy area in Newport. I recommend it. I'm also giving it 5 stars for the great choice in the name lol

Absolutely loved the homey vibes. The food was great especially for a rainy day. I would highly recommend the eggs Benedict with the corned beef.

Super affordable food and no wait time! The pancakes and blueberries were yummy and the food came out really quick. Especially convenient if visiting the International Tennis Hall of Fame!

This quaint little eatery is the best kept secret. Although it's not really a steep grit, we were told it was the best place to go. But I love the fact that it was named after the first Irish immigrant to sign her name at Ellis Island. Or at least that's what we were told! There are pictures all over the walls and the waitress was absolutely amazing, giving us stories and tips on where to go in the area that we're not known to many tourists. We went to everything she said and had the best 3 day trip ever. The quiche does not have crust but is somehow still a mile high. The eggs benedict were amazing. I did not get a picture of my homemade corned beef hash and poached egg, but it was the best thing I've ever had. She said they are known for it, and I absolutely see why. I didn't even offer it to anybody else at the table. So definitely try this place out!

The interior is decorated with a pretty white-and-blue motif that is definitely fitting. It's small, and not usually crowded so we typically can choose where to sit. It's become our favorite spot to go on the weekends, over places like Atlantic grill or aquidneck pizza. It's just so much cozier, and it's women-owned, which I will always support! The food is delicious. The spanakopita is my favorite, its fluffy and perfectly cheesy while not being dense or greasy. The greek yogurt is so creamy and delicious, the bacon is both crunchy and juicy at the same time. My bf loves to get the different wraps because he tends to like a large breakfast. They have lots of options for breakfast and lunch. I also love the vanilla iced latte, I think they put some ice cream in it. It tastes amazing. If you're wondering about YiaYia's cafe, definitely come try it. I feel like lots of people think it's only for those staying at the Sea Breeze Inn, or haven't been for whatever reason. Don't be afraid- it's just a short drive (10 minutes or so), and the Grille does have onsite parking. Even if there's a wait, don't let it deter you. The home cooked breakfast grub is truly worth it, and they turn tables pretty quickly, so you shouldn't be waiting for too long before you can sit in a comfy booth and dig into fluffy pancakes, perfect omelettes, and the best hash brown potatoes ever! The inside of the restaurant is casual, with surf inspired decor, chalkboards listing daily specials, and a full service bar with TVs broadcasting the latest game. Atlantic Grille is family friendly, so if you are looking for a chic girls brunch spot or something quiet and reserved, this may not be the place for you. However, if you are looking for classic breakfast fare at a good price in a fun and convivial environment, this is the place to go. I love the Western Omelette with gooey cheese, crisp ham and fresh veggies, or the Eggs Benedict, which features perfectly poached eggs (kudos to the kitchen for nailing this every time). I also enjoy the fresh fruit bowl (nothing canned or sketchy), and we always have to get a Buttermilk Pancake as an appetizer (this is the "bread course!") This is a great family owned spot you'll want to add to your Aquidneck Island adventures- especially if you want to feel like a local!

We ordered a wide variety of dishes: crudité to start, followed by the lobster roll (both hot and cold), fish tacos, burrata LT, steak, and pasta. We loved every single bite. Multiple people in our group said the burrata LT was one of the best sandwiches they've ever had.The only miss was the lobster bisque special--it wasn't cream-based as we expected, so it wasn't to our taste. We finished with the basque cheesecake and keylime pie, both amazing. That said, this place is an absolute can't-miss when in Newport. We're so glad we chose to stay for a full meal instead of just stopping by for drinks.

As noted above we have eaten here in the past. We have dined with large as well as small groups and have always been pleased. The place is beautiful, especially in the summer. The outdoor patio bar boasts a great view of Green End Pond. A great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. We started out on the patio and returned later for dinner. Based on our sub par experience the night before (see prior review) I was committed to having a great meal. We were not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. Delicious. Flavorful and loaded with clams. My wife opted for the lobster bisque In an effort to negate the lousy lobster bisque she had on the previous night. Mission accomplished. She described it as buttery and creamy. Essentially the perfect bisque flavor. Contained within the bisque was a tremendous chunk of delicious lobster meat . For dinner, I chose the baked stuffed shrimp. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection with delicious stuffing, rice, pilaf, and broccoli. My only complaint is that I believe there should be more than 4 shrimp at this price. My wife selected the Pasta Bolognese. A dish that she has had and several other restaurants in several states and she ranked this right at the top of the list. Plenty of beef and pork combined with a tasty Italian sauce. When in the Newport area I suggest you skip the over hyped restaurants and head to Johnny's for a delicious meal with great atmosphere.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner.
