what a great little place! we stopped in for a drink and to warm up and received great service at the bar. i tried the raspberry elixer mocktail and the autumn mocktail and enjoyed both a lot. if you are looking for a quick bite, their house made fries are delicious! i'm not sure what sauce they give on the side but it was perfect. we will definitely be back!

Overall this place was a bit above average. Food: Calamari: average- did the trick but nothing to scream to the rooftops about Chowder: pretty good. Would get again. Salmon: I was not expecting the lo mein Asian style with the salmon. I appreciated the creativity and ate most of it but the noodles were too saucy for me to want to finish. Swordfish: would not get again. Drinks: Regular Marg and Watermelon Marg. Would get again! The watermelon was homemade puree and was super refreshing. Overall the service was good and there was no wait. I'd go again but won't be going every time I visit Newport.

This was our first time back to Zelda's since the pandemic. The interior has had an overhaul and it made the space feel much more open and also gave a more casual vibe. For as much as the look has changed, we were super happy that the quality of food had not! We started with a pear and Brie salad which was fresh and yummy. The burgers are a must. They are ground in house from the trimmings of the hand cut steaks. Cooked to perfection with normal toppings. The fries were also perfect!! I really enjoy a fry that doesn't have a smooth exterior. The added texture adds to the flavor and these have that exterior. We skipped out on dessert, I was looking forward to a chocolatey bread pudding but the flavor that was blueberry so I was out! Lol! The beer selection good, they had a few different IPAs and about a dozen other draft choices.

I had gone in on a Friday night in April. I decided to sit at the bar rather than take up a table as I was dining alone. I'm so happy I did! The bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had the Firesteed Pinot noir from Oregon which I loved! For dinner I ordered the pan-seared scallops. The scallops were accompanied with a creamy English pea risotto, pancetta jam and a corn aioli. It was delicious! I wish I had leftovers to bring home. After spending some time there I was able to get to know the other customers at the bar, some regulars others visiting from out of town. By the end of dinner I felt like we were friends rather than strangers sitting at the bar. I will absolutely be back! Im looking forward to trying the Pt. Judith fried calamari and the steak frites. I will also most definitely be in for their brunch on Sunday and so should you!

    Escargots, not much flavor

Middle of the road at best. Small menu, no oysters in an oyster town. Waiter walks up to the table in shirt that looks like it was pulled from the bottom of a laundry bag. For Christ sake iron the damn thing. Then he asks us "you guys want food?" No wrinkle boy, I'm here inspecting the fresh air. Asshole. We got the escargots, fried calamari, and steak tartare. The calamari needed an oil change, the steak tartare looked like canned dog food and I almost wish it was as it was flavorless. The escargots and very little flavor.

Went for our last night I. Newport. Not the best. All other places we ate at were excellent. Too much of a bar type. The service wasn't too good. The food was flavorless. The menu was not much. I thought when I looked, they had mussels, and oysters. Not now. I ordered the escargot which were just swimming In oil. Not much flavor. The fried calamari was extremely tender, but again very oily and flavorless. The steak carpaccio was more like a canned corn beef hash. The other thing was the cosmo was 12.95 plus 1.00 for Tito's! Just charge me $13.95!! My husband had a grey goose w club soda for 11.95. I am used to paying $15.00 for a drink. Just thought that was tacky

A true Newport treasure. Great food and wonderful people. They say follow the locals. This is it. The food is amazing. It's all made in house and is impressive. The steak Au poivre and escargot are out of this world . The drinks and company could not be beat! Caitlin is is outstanding. She is so such a great bartender and a lovely, sweet person. She was very helpful with the menu and cocktails selection.

The girls loved the assorted wrap sandwiches and Caesar Salad and Fruit Salad and wanted it the second time plus fabulous cookies! Aya helped me with her recommendations. I was so happy with my experience with this deli. It looks small but they really turn out delicious food!!

We were recommended to come here for lunch by a friend, and to be honest, I didn't even know this…read moreplace existed before she told me about it. On a quiet weekend afternoon, we decided to swing through and give them a try, with limited expectations on what we were going to walk into. When we arrived, we were the only ones ordering at the deli counter. I ordered the falafel wrap and he ordered the Italian grinder. We also picked a carrot cake slice, a piece of tres leches cake and a peanut butter cup cookie for good measure. Once the meals were made, we took them home to eat. The guy who made our food asked me when he was putting the wrap together if I wanted "everything" on it. I asked what everything meant, and he went down the list of veggies and sauces. I told him that the only thing I didn't want was peppers of any kind. Despite this, the wrap had two different kinds of peppers. The falafel inside the wrap was cold, dry, and fell apart like sand. It was hands down one of the worst falafel I've ever eaten. Unfortunately that's not where it ended. Hubby's sando was terrible, he said the sauce on the grinder was so heavy handed, he couldn't taste anything inside it. The desserts were not much better, with the cookie being dry and crumbly, and the cakes being ok but not great. The wait time for these items to be made was pretty long, and even with that long wait time they were not well made, or even made according to our personal order. I don't know of the quality of the items, because they tasted so bad, we got maybe two or three bites in and chucked them directly in the garbage. Prices were ok if they had been worth eating, and service was slow and inaccurate. I'm not sure what the hype is here, but it's definitely not for the items we had at our visit. We will definitely not be returning, given how many other better options exist in this area.

Mozz is one of my favorite hidden spots to grab a quick breakfast or lunch when running errands…read morearound Bellevue Avenue and environs. You'd never know it was once a Newport Creamery (super casual diner-style eatery), because the owners have done an excellent job of renovating the space into an Italian-inspired fresh cafe. Of course, the house Mozzarella is a standout, and they do provide samples upon request. They also have an impressive array of imported cheese and meats, perfect for crafting a memorable charcuterie board. I love their Espresso brewed fresh to order with pistachio milk (!! Where else have you ever seen pistachio milk?!), and the Frittata with potato and onion is my favorite for a light brunch moment. Make sure you ask them to heat it up for you! Ample seating inside and outside at adorable cafe tables round out the Italian street cafe vibe, and Mozz is not to be missed for your Newport adventure!

One weekend afternoon in April 2026 I decided to pastry taste five spots in Newport Rhode Island…read more Mooz came in 4 of 5. It's a solid Italian spot with lots of food and sweet choices. I got a canolli and sfogliatella.. It's the only spot I found in town with Italian treats you can pickup and go. The canolli was really tasty but it was very small and very expensive. The sfogliatella matched the taste and quality of those I had in Napoli, Italy. It was expensive though. The spot has a pleasant sitting area that's functional but not necessarily cute to sit in and relax. Not much to look at inside. Overall a spot to get your Italian fix if you feel like paying the prices. It does have a great selection of cheeses, meats, and Italian goods which admittedly I didn't try. It's a slightly expensive spot even for Newport which is already an expensive town to eat in.
