Lobster Roll with fries
John C.

Lovely lunch today . Got there when they opened on a Sunday at noon. My wife had the cold lobster roll with coleslaw, daughter had cold lobster roll with fries and I had the fish and chips! Be sure to stop by the end of the wharf next time you're in Newport,RI. Our server Avon was great! Thank you!

Amazing views, great service, your typical east coast atmosphere and delicious food. Cannot go wrong coming here

we went to the lobster bar on a summer monday night in july around 7pm, and it was about half full & easy to get a table outside, which was really nice at golden hour, gorgeous view. my family loved the lobster mac and cheese (seriously, they wouldn't stop talking about it), so definitely a win if you're into seafood. that said... if you don't/can't eat seafood, your options are pretty limited. i had the caesar salad with chicken and it was respectfully, awful. the chicken was cold, overcooked/chewy, flavorless and overall inedible. i get that this place is all about the lobster (as it should be), but people like me still want to eat with our seafood-loving families. we need at least one or two solid non-seafood options. please!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience here. On a gorgeous day, we were escorted to a table with a spectacular view right at the edge of the wharf and perched on the water. We ordered a chilled and a hot lobster roll for sharing--both incredible, with solid sides--crisp fries and an interesting, vinegary, not overly heavy or mayonnaise-y slaw. Rolls were stacked with fresh, tasty lobster. Clam chowder was very good as well. I can see this is prime locale and could get super busy--your money may vary, as they say--but we could not have been happier with the food, the setting, or the experience.

Yum yum!!! My cruise was at port near this eatery and due to the positive yelp reviews.. I just had to check this place out. The waitress was very friendly. We had the lobster roll w/ fries. YUM!! We also had the lobster panini and that was just as tasty. The portions were large and could have had just one meal for lunch since were not allowed to bring food back on the ship (boo). I may take this cruise again so I will be back!

Went out for dinner here with the family and it was a very beautiful restaurant. They do take reservations as well! Food - everything was very delicious. The oysters/shrimp were super fresh, along with our other appetizer of calamari. The breading on the calamari was perfect and perfectly cooked/fresh. Not pictured, I did order the pirates punch which was not very strong with alcohol, it was pretty watered down which was disappointing. I had the Cajun grilled swordfish which was tasty, bit of spice, but the fish was not dry. My bf had the lobster bar burger and he enjoyed it but couldn't finish it at all. Overall all the food was very delicious, but those of us who got alcoholic beverages didn't have much alcohol in our drinks. Service - quick and catered to all of our requests, the waitress was super nice and actually took off one of the alcoholic drinks due to its watered down taste. Ambiance - right on the harbor/dock was a very nice view with the outdoor seating. Got to see a bunch of boats come and go from the harbor when eating dinner. Overall, great experience and I would go here again if I'm in Newport!

Good spot for lunch but I definitely didn't order the right thing My girlfriend got a panini which was good The fries were reeeeeaally good The lobster was.... Not my favorite. I didn't like the herb rub but that's my fault It was expensive but what do you expect, really? Service was good, place was beautiful right on the water. Probably better for dinner (We went here in a vlog- hailey and Kiki on YouTube!)

I love lobsters so this restaurant was right up my alley. It's large with beautiful views of the ocean. We were visiting Newport and decided to get lunch there. The service was great. The interior was bright and airy; they even have outdoor seating on the deck but we opted for air conditioning. I started off with a New England clam chowder which was delicious; it had bacon, potato, clams, and light cream. My entree was a whole steamed 1-1/4 lb lobster with a side of cole slaw and fries. The lobster comes with butter, a tool to break open lobster, and a bucket for the shells. The food was fresh and delectable. If you love lobster, I highly recommend this place.

The lobster roll flight was great! The lobster Mac and cheese was more of a pasta dish, not traditional Mac and cheese. The service was decent. However eating outside was a great experience and the best part of the meal!!

Seafood cake is delicious. Must have. Service is good. I would have given 4 stars if the buns were toasted and warm for the lobster flight.

It didn't feel very welcoming, especially seeing other guests turned away as well. We ended up booking through OpenTable and returning, where that same girl was chatting with another girl while sipping on a cocktail and ignoring the fact there are customers standing there. Thankfully, another staff member, Bella, stepped in and was kind and attentive, along with our server, which helped turn the experience around. Food-wise, everything tasted great. The Newporter platter was enjoyable (though oysters were a bit small), the blackened salmon was well-cooked, and the lobster roll was a standout--crispy, fresh, and easily a top 3 for me. The Chilean seabass was delicious but a bit small, especially for $50. Overall, great food but inconsistent and disappointing service at the front.

She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!

Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. Service is great, everyone is so welcoming and the vibe so calming . Can't say enough about this place.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We started off with drinks --gin dirty martini and a classic old fashion, both were perfectly made and crisp. Food: Appetizer-warm bread with butter was a nice starter. However I wish we got the escargot with bone marrow as we watched it being made it looked and smelled delicious. Entrees- we split a 27 oz ribeye and the scallops. The steak was a beautiful cut of meat, well marbled, cooked to perfection and seared so nicely. It was sooo tasty and seared with Malden salt. We are pretty snobby when it comes to steak and this was probably the best steak I've ever had out at a restaurant. The scallops similarly were cooked and seared perfectly and seasoned correctly. Laid on a bed of watercress and potato fondant it was the perfect delicate bite and contrasted nicely with the steak. We got the side of brussel sprouts with peanut Rayu which was a beautiful flavor bomb. I can't say enough about the food. Every single thing we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I find that to be a rarity in today's restaurant scene. I could not recommend this place more.
