My friends and I stopped by here for Sunday brunch. The wait can be long so I suggest going early if you can. We each got the bottomless coffee and we all thought it was the worst finer coffee we've ever had. It tasted like brown water. Our waitress never asked to fill it up again but we wouldn't have wanted it anyway. I got the spicy monkey breakfast burrito with turkey bacon and it was ok. The home fries were the star of the show and perfectly spiced and salty.

    Monkey bread so yummy!!

First of all this place was basically just like a hole in the wall small little breakfast spot nothing big. The atmosphere was awesome fun environment. The service was great very attentive waitress, and you cannot leave without ordering the monkey bread. Hands-down best meal I had it was so yummy. I wish I would've ordered one to go.

Great breakfast spot. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a bagel with bacon egg and cheese. It was so good. Totally hit the spot. Parking on the street in front. Small diner vibe. One restroom in back. Good service.

We came here because it was close and it was well reviewed. We were impressed! The place has great breakfast! Eggs Benedict option galore The home fries were SUPER good! We've eaten here before and we continue to perform our, "is it as good as it used to be" test. They pass with flying colors. The ambiance screams "local, casual" and it's such a good feeling. The ability to walk in and sit right down reminds me of why we love Newport in the winter. As cool as all of that is, the food continues to be the star. The pancakes are arguably the most flavorful I've had. The hash is excellent! The special was a Churro Stuffed French toast. Oh man! So rich. Staff is friendly as always!

I forgot to take a picture of the best thing on the menu which is the monkey bread to start off your breakfast. If you go it's an absolute must to share with on the table. We went on December 31st so it was a long wait and they made everyone stand outside. That wasn't my favorite thing on a chilly day and I would plan accordingly going back in the winter. The pancakes were good as was the bacon but the omelette wasn't anything special and definitely not worth the super long wait. This is a well known diner in Newport and the Monkey bread alone is worth the visit but be prepared for a wait on weekends.

So good!!!!!! Felt like home made food and everything tasted amazing. It was what we wanted and then tasted even better!

I love this place. Usually, never a wait, depending on the time you get there. They can fill up and pick up quickly. Usually, anytime before 8, you're good. The service is great. Servers are friendly and always have a smile. Especially mariana. Have to say she does it all. I had her both times I was there. Quick , to get you ordered and situated. Running orders making coffee. Topping off your coffee when needed. She remembers her customers from what I see. So when I went to pay I told her it was my last day there. Told her I would be back in Oct. Thank you for the service. She was kind to inform me that there is a food festival that is coming up before my next visit. Which is great seeing as I love good. So now I have looked into that and will have to make an extra trip before October, which is not an issue, seeing as I love the food in that area.

This restaurant was the perfect distance away from downtown and wasn't jam packed with tourists. They have ample seating and customers are encouraged to sit wherever you like. They have a large breakfast and lunch menu, most meals are around $10 and the portions are generous. The wait staff were friendly and prompt. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to others.

    Delicious!

The food was delicious! I had the Greek omelet, turkey bacon, and the famous stuffed sweet French toast with bananas! Amazing! It's a must-have! The ambiance was family-oriented and nice, but the service could have been better!

Seafood is on the menu and we started with two stuffies or stuff quahogs and a clam cakes appetizers. Probably too much fried out of the gate but when in Rome... My husband ordered the GYRO PITA, which had grilled gyro meat, peppers, tomato, onion & tzatziki sauce, and I ordered an EGGPLANT PITA, which had fresh mozzarella, feta, grilled eggplant & olive oil, sitting open face on some grilled pita bread. We swapped half of our sandwiches, so we could each try the other's. We both liked the gyro pita a little more than mine (the eggplant), but make no mistake, they were BOTH GREAT. His was just a little bit better... so he told me afterward he was sorry he gave up his half sandwich... even though he liked the eggplant. I understood... but was secretly glad I got his half cuz it was really good. : ) We spoke with the owners, who were very nice. They asked us to come back, and while we said we would... and had every intention to do so cuz the food was so good, we just ran ourselves out of time. I was thinking we could get there for breakfast the next day, but it never happened... so for me, that just means we'll have to make good on the deal and get back to Newport (someday) and get that breakfast !! We were both really glad we went there because dining indoors was lovely, and we still had a great view of the bay. The food was delicious, we walked around outside after our meal, so we didn't feel like we lost out on any aspect of our lunch. It was just rearranged. We both ordered lobster rolls, which came with French fries. The lobster roll was incredibly overstuffed with lots of beautiful lobster meat. It was impressive to see and even better to bite into. The lobster was sweet and succulent and loads of it, surrounded by a buttery brioche bun. Fabulous !! It was a wonderful first meal of our vacation, so we were off to a great start. We decided to split dessert and ordered their lemon meringue tart. It was so pretty, and it tasted even better. It was a beautiful day when we went there... not too hot nor humid. This place is known for a whole slew of adirondack chairs laid out on the inn's "hill." It was quite crowded when we were there. Very popular spot. As noted above we have eaten here in the past. We have dined with large as well as small groups and have always been pleased. The place is beautiful, especially in the summer. The outdoor patio bar boasts a great view of Green End Pond. A great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. We started out on the patio and returned later for dinner. Based on our sub par experience the night before (see prior review) I was committed to having a great meal. We were not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. Delicious. Flavorful and loaded with clams. My wife opted for the lobster bisque In an effort to negate the lousy lobster bisque she had on the previous night. Mission accomplished. She described it as buttery and creamy. Essentially the perfect bisque flavor. Contained within the bisque was a tremendous chunk of delicious lobster meat . For dinner, I chose the baked stuffed shrimp. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection with delicious stuffing, rice, pilaf, and broccoli. My only complaint is that I believe there should be more than 4 shrimp at this price. My wife selected the Pasta Bolognese. A dish that she has had and several other restaurants in several states and she ranked this right at the top of the list. Plenty of beef and pork combined with a tasty Italian sauce. When in the Newport area I suggest you skip the over hyped restaurants and head to Johnny's for a delicious meal with great atmosphere.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. The mussels were the standout of the meal and the best I've personally had. They were incredibly fresh with no fishy smell and the broth was so flavorful. The bread that came with it was perfect for soaking up every last bit of the broth. The salmon was very fresh and cooked well. The shrimp scampi was also really good. The clam chowder was an 8 out of 10 for me. Not the best I've ever had but definitely one of the better ones. Pricing was mid range and felt fair for the quality of the food and the portions. Overall, we were really happy with the meal. Great service, fresh seafood, generous kids' portions, and a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back, especially for the mussels.
