Puppy on patio

Love the food here and bonus, you can bring your furry friends. I love the smell of the wood fire bbq grill, as soon as you get out your car in the parking lot. They have a bar with many local craft brews. The names of the sandwiches in the menu make me laugh. Get anything with the bbq and you will love it. I love the tomato-cucumber salad as a side. It can get warm on the outdoor patio, but the vibe is always great and everyone is so friendly. Go early as they get crowded on weekends!

Went with some friends for an early dinner. It was raining out so there were plenty of seats. It was pretty quiet so we able to have a good conversation without yelling. We sat at the bar and the waitress was readily available. She made beer/cider recommendations as needed and also let us sample before choosing a drink. The food was amazing and came out pretty fast. I was just sad at the dessert availably nothing I really wanted.

Love this place but we don't come here as often since our dog passed over a year ago. Our friends (that are picky eaters) came here with us and had a great meal. Our friend didn't care for the potato salad, but it's person preference. You still have to order at the counter and get your own food when the buzzer goes off. There's a great variety for anyone, even vegetarians. They also have a great beer selection (per my husband). I don't think they do trivia or music bingo anymore, which is a shame. Those were always fun.

Yellow Dog's Famous Pulled Pork Sandwich with chips

My family has always wanted to check out this place for a while and we found time around the holidays and in the new year to stop in for a few meals. (It is dog friendly, but we chose to not bring our dogs with us both times, as we were out running errands prior to stopping in for a meal.) They have a good amount of parking available if you go a bit before a peak meal time. Regarding tables, there are a few on the back porch area, some out front, and there's the covered area out back. Some folks I've seen eat at the bar inside as well. Usually we've been able to find a table whenever we've come here. I've tried their pulled pork sandwich and the house made queso, along with one of their January specials which was their take on a meatball sandwich. Everything is made to order and it tastes very good, without being over-seasoned or heavy. My mom and I commented that the pulled pork does not taste greasy, which is not always easy to find whenever we go to BBQ places. Portion sizes are big - you could have leftovers in some cases, but our instances, we often skipped lunch and came closer to dinner, so we were pretty hungry. It's a lively space that is laidback and the food is very delicious. Definitely would come back here if I was in the area.

Amazing food & very personable staff. Even though it is more of a casual spot and you order your own food & grab it, the owner walks around the table and checks on you. My favorite dish was the ribs.

Easily our favorite local find since moving to the surrounding area. This place has such a cool vibe. Seems like it has been around for ages and is well loved locally. Staff was all very friendly and welcoming once they found out we were new locals. Had some interesting conversations with a few people about Orlando and Atlanta (where we moved from) and BBQ in both places. You've got to see this place. It eclectic. couldn't be remade anywhere. Love spots like this. Dog friendly - we're really excited to got our fur kids on the wall one day. Everything we are was excellent. Huge portions and MESSY. Super messy - be prepared and don't wear white lol but truly so good. I'm going back to puck up some sauce for home sandwiches. I'm a big soup fan and when we inside figuring out or order someone yelled "don;t skip the soup" and with that I ordered a cup of soup which was excellent and fresh and again massive. A cup is more like a bowl. I bet a bowl is enough to feed a few people. Having been there once I can already tell you this is going to become a go -to spot of us and a fun local find to share with friends when they visit.

Stopped in for brunch at Yellow Dog Eats this afternoon and it did not disappoint. I had the curry chicken salad, and it was outstanding -- flavorful, balanced, and clearly made with care. Not overly sweet, not heavy, just really well done. It felt like one of those dishes you don't forget because it's simple but executed right. The space is what really sets this place apart. The restaurant is literally a retrofitted house that's been turned into a funky, welcoming eatery. Inside feels cozy and eclectic -- colorful walls, quirky vintage-style signs, wood ceilings, mismatched tables and chairs, and a warm "you're in someone's cool home" vibe instead of a generic restaurant feel. Then there's the covered outdoor area, which is awesome -- string lights, heaters, plants, wooden beams, open air, and tons of personality. It feels more like hanging out in a backyard patio lounge than eating out. Super relaxed and apparently pet-friendly, which adds to the laid-back neighborhood feel. It's casual, creative, comfortable, and just different in the best way. If you're looking for: * A unique brunch spot * Good food that's not cookie-cutter * A place with character and personality ...this is absolutely worth the stop. Highly recommend.

Another year, another 5 star review! If anything, somehow the ordering and food preparation has gotten faster? I'm not complaining! We appreciate the quick service as much as we appreciate the delicious food. I wish I could tell you I've convinced myself to stray from the pulled pork tacos but alas the song of the siren is too powerful!!! I will say they've added some options for sides over the years and the elote dip is a hit!

Amazing, multiple visits & everything has been great. What a fun, eclectic, unique, flavorful sandwich place. Excellent beer selection, orders are quickly served & vibe is exciting! All sandwiches are great. Something new to see every time we visit. It is easy to miss on the road, nestled between houses & neighborhoods so do not overlook this great venue.

They also do mimosas!

LOCAL REVIEW: Yellow Dog Eats is a must for BBQ fans in Orlando. The location in Gotha is also their original! I love following their Instagram account to keep up with daily specials. You really can't go wrong with most items on the menu though. There is always a healthy serving of meat with everything that I have tried. The meat is always juicy and flavorful. I'm a person that enjoys sauce and it's always the right amount. Some of my favorite food items have been: White Trash (love their thick cut shredded Gouda cheese on top), Fire Pig (perfect for a light lunch with easy leftovers if you take half the wrap home), and the Sweet Potato Tico Tacos! Yes, even their vegetarian items pack a punch of flavor. Getting to this Gotha location takes you on an enjoyable ride through a lovely neighborhood that for your first time going there will leave you wondering if you're going the right way. When you arrive, you'll see the red and yellow signage calling you to the house that holds this cafe. There is plenty of parking behind the house and also across the street. As soon as you get out of your car, you can smell the smoker and then inside the house, you'll find eclectic decor. It feels like a space where all are welcome. Some of the staff are really chatty and some are not, but all are nice people. And sometimes the owner is there too! The best part is that dogs are also welcome in the covered outdoor section. There is usually also a water bowl or two around as well.

First time visiting Yellow Dog Eats after friends telling me to visit for a good long while. The atmosphere is so incredibly cozy - like the neighborhood bar. The walls are covered in nostalgic photos and artwork and signage, as well as stickers and graffiti from the patrons (and I definitely didn't add my name or anything...) The food is barbecue classics as well as exciting unique items like ahi tuna and salmon sandwiches, tacos and salads. I tried the Florida Cracker (pulled pork, smoked bacon and a bunch of toppings - AWESOME) as well as the light and well-spiced potato salad. GIANT brownies and oatmeal cream pies feature in the desserts case, and the cream pie in particular is highly recommended. The service team was inviting and friendly, cracking jokes and conversational making you feel right at home. Just a fun, lovely experience!

The employee was also running food out to the tables so we ordered on the iPad (which was really easy to use). Once you order you are able to seat yourself in one of the tables or booths they have around the space. It was clean and nice /minimal decor. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. It came out cooked exactly as ordered and had a lot of flavor to it. I was not too hungry so didn't order any sides with it and was full after the burger. My oldest had a plain burger and she really enjoyed it. My youngest had the chicken tender kids mean and she said the chicken was well cooked and juicy. We also ordered some wings (garlic parmesan) which were also well balanced in flavor and well cooked. Great quick serve with good food. Be sure to stop in and check it out.

I just had water to drink, but ordered a lobster bisque soup (11 dollars) to feel better. It came very quickly, and it was a bit lukewarm. It was still a nice soup with some nice pieces of shrimp and a creamy bisque with sherry flavor. For the main meal, I enjoyed the shrimp tacos (14 dollars), which looked big and have ample amount of shrimp, picked slaw, pico de gallo, in a siracha aioli sauce. It was filling enough that I ate two, and saved the last one for the next day. The sauce provided the right kick, and the vegetables were fresh enough. There were enough shrimp to enjoy too. For the price paid, it was a nice deal. For dessert, they were served in season 52 shot glass style, so I tried the bruleed cheesecake (4 dollars). There was too much powdered sugar as it could have been fired better, but the cheesecake was still light and enjoyable. The service was quick, but casual. My server was friendly and helpful. He suggested to the 3 dessert shots of 10 dollars deal, but it would have been too much got me. The atmosphere reminds me of an upscale Moe's tavern, because it looked empty and a bit down. There wasn't much of a crowd and it was pretty quiet. Only the soft rock background music provided a little vibe. I paid using Inkind, which was quick an easy. I also had a 10 dollars off deal from Inkind, making my meal only 26 dollars after taxes and tips. Parking was easy since there wasn't many people, even in a Saturday. This restaurant is very close to Fresh Market, so you can get gourmet groceries afterwards. I would this restaurant again and try their bigger plates next time, especially if I get another Inkind deal. Overall: B-

We went to a cooking class advertised by this company and this would have been a 4-star review…read morebecause the food was excellent but we did not do any of the cooking. More on that later. I bought a cooking class groupon for two people and the class was organized by this company. The company offers multiple services from personal chef and catering to spa days and consulting. They had multiple classes available and each one focused on a theme. The one I chose was "Superfoods". The class was held at a restaurant called Habibi (close to downtown Disney) on a Saturday at 11:00am. It was perfect for a day-date and that was my thought when I bought it. So, when you buy a cooking class one would think you would be doing the cooking in your own station while the chef shows what to do in his own station. Well, this was not the case, which to be honest was really, really dissapointing to me as I wanted my BF to learn how to cook something. They set up one single station and long tables around it for everybody on the class to sit and watch. They had a menu already set up for the class and the way that it would work was that the chef was going to show us how to do only certain components of the dishes on the menu. The other components were cooked in the restaurant kitchen. Bummer. He did called most of the people up front to help with certain cooking tasks like cutting, juicing, stirring and serving. They had a nutritionist there and he was explaining to us what were considered superfoods and how some of the ingredients to be used in the class (coconut water, goji berries, butter, cauliflower, salmon, honey, etc) were good for you. We started off with a refreshing shot of coconut water. The first course was a miso soup (cooked in the station) but instead of tofu he used cauliflower which I thought was an awesome substitution. It was light and delicious. They also gave us one big glass of white wine which was nice too. The main course consisted of the most amazing brown rice I've ever tasted and I usually hate brown rice. They mixed-in goji berries with the brown rice and that gave it a great kick. They topped the rice with a piece of salmon dressed in ponzu sauce that the chef did on the station. The ponzu sauce was outstanding and so was the salmon. They did tell us the ingredients to recreate the dishes. And I found out about the most amazing butter EVER! The brand is called Plugra and I found it at my local Publix. I really enjoyed it but I would have loved it if we were the ones doing the cooking. I still would consider participating in other cooking "classes" because I really enjoyed the food after all. And isn't that what's important? Yes!
