When you're craving Latin food but not really sure where to go, come to Lechonera. Cutesy little spot in an unassuming plaza located in Ocoee. It's got a mix of Cuban, Puerto Rican and Dominican flavors. From rice and beans to grilled and stewed meats to plantains. They've got a plethora of different foods to choose from. I've been here a few times with colleagues during lunch and they've all said the food here reminds them of home. Food here is delicious! And comforting might I add. I'm skeptical of food served buffet style because I always feel like the quality is not there. But Lechonera is legit good. Everything I've had I enjoyed a lot! My favorites are the red rice and beans, beef steak, mangu lechon, macaroni salad, yuca, and the tres leches cake. Great food. Very clean and has pretty authentic flavors that satisfy a few different styles: Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican and if I recall, other cuisines as well. Visited this restaurant around 2 PM during a Saturday afternoon. Nice huge portion of food with very reasonable price. Like all the other Hispanic cafeterias, I was overwhelmed by the number of choices of food on the steamed table. However, their service was very friendly with both English and Spanish. They would answer any question about their food. I even got to learn about the difference between Dominican and Peruvian fried rice. I was very happy that I ordered the Budin de Pan. One of the best bread pudding I ever had. Not overly sweet but very flavorful. I will visit this restaurant again just to try all their other desserts. read more

I have been here a number of times and couldn't tell you all the different dishes I've tried from their buffet style ordering platform. But I will tell you they've all been great! First of all, this place is hopping, so that's always a good sign. You walk in and can ask for a to go meal (that's what I do) and then you pick your rice (which changes everyday and let's you try all sorts of different styles without getting boring), your meat (again, they're all good, so don't spend too much time trying to decide and instead just close your eyes and pick) and then your side. I'm not sure what it is that I get, ground plantains or something that looks like mashed potatoes, but I get it whenever I can because it is sooooooo good!! Make sure to ask for their garlic sauce and they'll give you some in a little condiment container because just a little off that makes this dish beyond addictive. I tried one of the sandwiches for the first time today - the Cuban - and that was possibly one of the best I've had. Very well flavored and not at all dry. Definitely recommend!! read more

I don't know why this place does not have a thousand more comments. I moved here from Miami and this just tastes like home. When the food arrived just the smell reminded me of home. There are many places out there that say they have true Hispanic food but they got nothing on this place. I don't know where to begin is all I have to say to describe my entire experience here. It's clean inside with a pretty tight parking situation especially if you come during the lunch rush. It's a cafeteria style where you choose what you want but none of the foods on display have a description or a name. I didn't want to be that person and ask what every single thing was but when I had a hard time deciding what to get and tried to ask all she had to say was pork. I asked what the meat next to it was she said pork. Gave up after that and just chose the first thing I saw in front of me or the first pork I asked about. I would *maybe* come back if the menu was more helpful or they add some labels since service is not so friendly. Portions seem generous, taste is meh. Menu prices aren't listed on the screen but the lunch special was $10.95. I've had better lunch at the Jamaican restaurant next door (same portions half the cost) and even went there afterwards. read more

This place deserves more recognition because it exceeded my expectations. We had the arroz con gandules with Ropa vieja, grilled pork, and pollo guisado. Everything was very flavorful and the best Puerto Rican food you can get without having to drive to Semoran or Kissimmee. Definitely will be coming back multiple times. read more

Everything was delicioso! I will be back! Portion sizes are generous, flavor is spot on, options feel limitless and you literally can't go wrong on what you order. The chef knows flavors! It's a buffet style restaurant and super friendly staff that make sure you have everything you need. My only recommendation is to have all of the buffet stations fitted for the glass that covers as much as possible because we are still want to be as safe as possible given COVID-19 so that tiny bit of extra security would be great. I was so surprised by this business. I went in for lunch randomly one day because my usual lunch spots weren't open and I was just looking to support local. On entering, I was overwhelmed with choices and by default I ordered a Cuban. However, it is essentially a buffet with many ready-to-serve options that look fresh and delicious. Most other customers went for these options and I will next time for sure because they are much more convenient and smell great. But, I was committed to my Cuban sandwich ... which was awesome. The ham and pork were just perfect, not dry. And the bread was scrumptious. It was pressed on a sandwich press which made it a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the portion was spot on. Had it with a side of fries which were perfectly crispy. Honestly I think one staff member oversaw the whole process and made sure each step of putting this together was done perfectly. I will be back! read more

I do however wish and hope they may provide some of the other great options they have in store on the Uber eats app. Which has limited options at this time.
