One of the best restaurants I've been to in Florida. The food was spectacular and so delicious. The chef is passionate about the food he serves. You can tell he takes pride in his cooking and his restaurant. The chef provides you with details about each dish and will help you decide by asking you what you like. This type of service is top notch! Each dish is beautifully plated and abundant. The restaurant is small and not as nicely decorated as you'd think because the food is so amazing. But who needs nice decor when the food is excellent. I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes. The portions are huge and could be split between two people. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious food.
Another delicious meal prepared by JazTro! I stopped in for the Fried Whole Snapper among other dishes. I didn't have to wait long for the dishes to be prepared, packaged, and bought to the table where I sat waiting.
Let talk about this excellent place. In his category, it's a 5 stars plus. The chef is so concerned about quality that volume is not his priority. That's why it's a small, cozy restaurant where the chef and his wife create each one of the culinary options from scratch, everything fresh and to the order. A place to try. The ambience is nice, not to impress but to make you feel in a welcomed place. Clean, well decorated and neat. The "to-go" presentation was fantastic. But once you taste and eat the food, it get better!! this place will become a very often visited place to eat. Thank you Danny the chef and owner and his wife, for such a good food and good service received.
If you're looking for fresh food; authentic food and extremely delicious Puerto Rican Food- then look no further. This small mom and pops location is an instant demand for a return visit. We had 1. Pastelon- very meaty and tasty. Great blend of flavors, meat and not dry at all. 2. Snapper with arroz mamposteao. The snapper is a show stopper! A must have! Amazing! 3. The chicken Chicharron fried rice. 4. Tostones and Maduros- on point!!! Things I wasn't a fan of but not a dealbreaker. * 3% surcharge with credit cards * place is very small. If you go with a big group- then call ahead. I think with 10 people it's packed! * they use Jasmin rice- which is not something I'm used to from Puerto Rican restaurants. I'm used to small or medium or even Large grain rice from arroz Rico or something like that. * Portion of beans- was little
Found this place from a post. The place was small but the food was awesome. The service was good the make it to order so takes a little to get it. Highly recommend all of it. The steak was a bit chewy but all seasoned well. We got to go orders which were soooo good. I will definitely go back.
If you are looking for high quality, DELICIOUS Latin food, then look no further JazTro is the place to go! I've truly never been disappointed with any of their food and for the amount you get it's worth the price. I will say, like they warn, it's a small space and small team that operates the restaurant so please give them grace! It's worth it!
Absolutely loved the food, our experience, and the chef! We were greeted by the chef, he explained the menu and had helpful pictures. This was our third visit and everything is made to order fresh. Delicious!
JazTro by Chef Doc is a hidden gem! The location is small and intimate, but don't let that fool you...the food is AMAZING. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell the chef takes real pride in their craft. The whole snapper was fried to perfection...crispy on the outside, tender on the inside & the churrasco was cooked exactly to the temperature I asked for. Presentation was spot-on, even for takeout. They didn't miss a beat and included every condiment you could possibly need, which I really appreciated since I carried out. It honestly felt like a little slice of Puerto Rico in Orlando. I'll definitely be back to try more. Highly recommend!
Small family owned local business that is absolutely amazing. I went to have dinner by myself and felt very comfortable. I was informed before I placed the order of how busy they were and that I would have to wait about an hour for my food. I didn't mind at all and love when someone is upfront. Let me tell you the wait was not bad at all and so worth it, food was fresh, felt "clean" and so good! Then I ordered a carrot cake to go and OMG... best carrot slice ever!! Do yourself a favor and check them out! I drove from the other side of town and I will be returning!
My nephew recommended that we go here. Cooked to order. Fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. I saved it in my Orlando folder, so the next time I'm visiting family here, I'll make sure to stop by. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the fresh food with Puerto Rican and fusion.
100% satisfied! The chef captures the flavors of my island and then some! My girls and I wiped those plates clean. I ordered the mofongo con camarones al ajillo and for my girls they were able to share a canoa con camarones! The portions were perfect. It's literally my favorite hole in the wall! Well deserved 5 stars!
The food was absolutely delicious! I am Puerto Rican but was visiting from Atlanta. I dragged my family because of the reviews and I am so happy I did...this food took me home! Best Monfongo con camarones, churrasco, pollo a la plancha, and coquito bread pudding was out of this world! It was a 10 out of 10!

Had a great experience at Jaztro today while visiting Orlando. The chef was very friendly and helpful as we looked over the food menu cards. I ordered the fried snapper with arroz con gandules and sweet plantain. My husband ordered the pork chops. When I say delicious I absolutely mean that! Our hotel was 30 minutes away and I ate every bit of my meal on the ride. The fish was fried and seasoned to perfection and the rice had a great flavor...and I dont usually eat rice. I also got the passionfruit juice and the coquito bread pudding! They were both divine! My husband said his pork chops were moist and seasoned well and he really enjoyed his meal. Will definitely visit again. The fish meal was $40 so a bit pricey to me but the meal was very tasty and filling so I wont complain. Will pay for a solid meal. read more

I came in here for my brother in law's birthday celebration. The restaurant is really small but very cute and what it lacks on size, it gains in service. Service was amazing! The food was stupendous! The chef/owner was great. He made sure our food was made to perfection. He even baked the triple chocolate birthday cake, which was wow! read more

I've been to Jaztro many times and all I can say is "Wow" each visit! Consistently fresh, flavorful, large portions and beautiful presentation. The Mofongo is moist and has a garlicky, buttery flavor. Their pork chops are huge, perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside yet somehow remain juicy inside. Their rice is savory and never dry nor mushy but the perfect consistency. Their steak is tender and so tasty. Their tostones are large and fried to a golden crisp. When it comes to desserts, he knocks it out of the park! The Coquito bread pudding and the Bananas Foster bread pudding are two of my faves. I drive almost 30 mins from East Orlando just to dine here (passing many other Puerto Rican restaurants along the way) because it's just THAT worth it. Chef Danny is a true culinary genius! If you haven't tried Jaztro yet, you're truly missing out, so make it a point to check it out! read more

We haven been to JazTro three times in the last month and every time has been excellent, great food and flavor is always delivered. The chef always comes out and greets each table and even when you order it to go. The food quality is the same whether you are dining in or out. Highly recommend! read more

I originally came for the food, but I keep coming back for the incredible service and hospitality that Chef Danny and his wife show to everyone who walks through their doors. Their Spanish--Puerto Rican--cuisine is nothing short of exceptional. I've been working my way through the menu and still haven't found a single dish that doesn't impress. You can immediately tell that Chef Danny pours his heart and soul into every detail, from flavor and quality to presentation. And whatever you do, don't skip the desserts--thank me later. While you can't go wrong with any of them, my personal favorites are the coquito bread pudding, carrot cake, and churros, all homemade. If you're looking for outstanding Spanish food and desserts made with passion, this place is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm always reluctant to visiting Puerto Rican restaurants as I consider myself a great cook when it comes to authentic ! I decided to treat my son for lunch on his birthday. The minute we walked in, I sensed my son's reaction: "sounds, smells and feels like home." Cozy, clean, simply decorated, and a lovely woman (Chef's wife) greeting us at the counter with a humble smile. Everything in the menu looked amazing! We ordered rice and beans, tostones (fried plantains) and carne frita (fried pork). Birthday boy was in heaven! I had the Mahi Mahi tacos which were light and grilled to perfection. I stole the cilantro sauce from my son... fresh squeezed lemon gave them a nice touch! Also ordered the coquito bread pudding "to go" for my husband. (I'll update a picture tonight!) Once last thing... we live two minutes away... I'm happy we found a place that takes authenticity seriously! read more

Coming back with an update! Chicharron chicken with tostones was good, but not nearly as good as some other items on the menu, I wouldn't order it again. On the other hand, my husband ordered the fried rice with pork chops, and I must admit the fried rice was amazing but the pork chops were ok. Customer service was ok, and if you want a drink, even if it's water, you'll be paying for it. read more

Thank you, Justice B. for both of your reviews and for coming back!…
Chef Danny is one of the nicest persons you can find. He explains his menu and the food with a friendly passion for what he does. The food is very abundant and fine (not memorable though). Prices are in the high side for what it is (over $70 plus Tip for lunch for two without drinks). Was a nice experience. We did takeout, but enjoyed the fritters there. Thanks Chef Danny! read more
Wow. Ok I love it. I can't wait to go back and try everything else I got a power bowl with shrimp because I was trying to get something on the lighter side and it is amazing. Super fresh ingredients, the shrimp were cooked and flavored perfectly. The veggies brought me to life with the flavor and made me feel good about having lunch out and about. The service was great, the person at the front was pleasant and helped me pick out this meal. Ambiance is right on par for a little mom and pop shop. I certainly will be returning to try the tacos, tostones, etc read more

We had such a great experience here from start to finish. The environment is amazing; warm, welcoming, and with an energy that makes you want to stay a while. The highlight for us was definitely the food. We ordered the mofongos, and they were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. You can really tell that the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The service was also excellent , the staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to make sure we had everything we needed. Between the incredible food, the great atmosphere, and the wonderful service, this is definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again soon. read more

What a great little spot with a huge amount of love and care served up on plate . Chef Danny has outdone himself by creating a variety of typical Latino dishes mixed with some creative new Gen Latino plates . We came in first lunch. We had the Chinchorreeo Bowl and the Buen Provecho (there version of create your own). The food was rich with flavor and delicious! The beans were fantastic. Portions were also really good . Would definitely recommend. One note, the place is pretty small . read more

First of all, I'm all about supporting a small business AND a business who cares about customer service. Upon entering, we were greeted, we asked a lot of questions and not once did we feel like we were bothering the lady at the counter. There was an older couple there who laughed and joke with us as we decided on our to-go order. The atmosphere is fun, to-go, or quick eatery spot. We ordered Mofongo with Chicken, Chicken Dinner (rice, beans, sweet plantains/Maduros), and 3 Coquito Bread puddings. The Mofongo was moist and full of flavor. It's one of those dishes you want to finish as it's not as good the next day. The only drawback was the chicken itself could use a little salt (we're not big salt eaters but it was lacking). The chicken tastes great with the other sides. Last but certainly not least, the bread pudding. The best Coquito Bread pudding EVER!! If you don't get anything else, this is worth the drive for take-out. We will be back! read more
