I'm a sucker for a good Latin restaurant. I work near Chimiking so I'm basically a regular there. I almost always ordered their lunch special, which is an absolute treat. It comes with a choice of meat and enough sides to guarantee you'll have leftovers. The restaurant itself is always clean and has upbeat music and may have you dancing while you wait for your food. So I should say upfront, I am not sure this is the correct location that I was at or not. It is a chain though, so I am sure differences are extremely slim. I was visiting Orlando and I have a lot of friends and family here. My niece took us here for lunch with high praises of the place. I was excited since I haven't eaten good Dominican outside of the few dishes I've learned how to make over the years. We arrived and immediately began to order. There were a lot of us so I will only review what I ate. I ordered a small sancocho to start. It was ok, but was seriously devoid of seasoning. From the start you could tell they were playing it safe with the flavors. Trying to appease as many tongues as they could. I hadn't had sancocho in a very long time, so I was seriously disappointed. For my main course I ordered the monfongo with pernil. Where the sancocho lacked flavor the monfongo and pernil over reached. It was crazy salty. Like way too salty. I could only get through a few spoonfuls before I called it quits. I then turned to some of my wife's rice and beans and was right back to flavorless. About the only thing that tasted even was the chicharon de pollo. But even that was lack luster. It's always hard to find a good Dominican food restaurant. I will keep searching but till then I guess I will just continue to hone my skills at cooking it at home. The atmosphere itself was good. Sort of a mid-stage afternoon spot. Nice, clean, nothing too trendy or new. Just an average spot. If you have never had Dominican food this may be the spot for you. Something safe so you aren't over whelmed by flavors. OMG! I'm so happy my boyfriend brought me here. The food was so good. I must admit, I wish it wasn't a secret where I was going because I needed way more time to look over the menu and decide. But I managed to come to an excellent conclusion. The snapper!! Con arroz y habichuelas Rojas which my very sweet server, Josehyleen helped me learn how to pronounce. She was so great with providing recommendations and checking in at the right times. All the ladies were on point. And when guest left, a table did not remain unclean for more than 30 seconds before they all rushed to help clean it. The space is the perfect quaint size for a family dinner or even a small party. Ordered To-go here for the first time and enjoyed the food. We ordered the breast chicken which comes with mofongo and a salad . And we also ordered a side of fries. I came to dine in for the first time for the lunch special. I usually order over the phone and come pick it up because I work in the same plaza. For the lunch special they give you a soup and I always get the chicken soup. Today when I dined in I ordered the same soup with my lunch special. Can you believe me they gave me a small bowl with just broth and calabaza in it? No chicken, noodles nothing. When I told the server about it she said she spoke to the "manager" and the "manager" said that he was not going to change it out and that's how it comes. Mind you, every time I order take out they give me a chicken soup with EVERYTHING in it. How dare you guys offer a chicken soup and just give broth and one little piece of Calabaza. I placed a $125.00 order on Uber Eats and not satisfied. 1) The Churarrasco and rice & beans (plus side order) arrived with no rice and beans. 2) Both octopus and conch salad did not meet my expectations. I ordered delivery tonight for my grandson, husband and I-I called the driver, no answer, I sent a text message with the gate code for our community-After 45-1 hour the tracking messenger indicated the food had been delivered-No food was outside our house ( ps i had requested to personally receive it) I called the # to find out what happened and the 3rd party delivery service member told me it was left on the black chair on my doorstep-I do not have a black chair on my doorstep. They asked if I wanted a replacement that would take another 45 minutes-I requested a refund because my 10 year old grandson was so hungry-I ended up driving to another restaurant to pick up our food. First to make clear, I am from out of town visiting. The establishment was clean with a family atmosphere. Service was non existant other than to take your order, deliver it and bring the check. As for the food, the 3 "alcapurias" were the size of taquito or a Tiparillo cigar for $7. The beef was nowhere to be found!!! The Cuban sandwich and "tripleta" ($11) was nothing to rave about. I have had much better in Miami and Dallas. The fountain soft drink ($4) was rediculous. Not even at the airport do they chargw that. Something else, my friend and I asked for the same refill at the same time and, the server mixed the drinks, serving me.my friends glass. Over all, it was expensive and not worth it. The food was fine. The table service was bad. The waitress kept trying to upsell us. She ran through all of the drink options. When we said that we just wanted glasses of water she felt the need to run through the list again. Instead of bringing us the glasses of water that we asked for she brought us bottles of spring water which came with a cost per bottle. After we had told her that we did not want desert she went away for a bit and then came back and repeated the question. At time of payment she had to hold the machine and watched while you tallied the tip. Basically she made it a bad experience and we are unlikely to go back. Giving this place two stars for lack of customer service and attention. As soon as you walk in, the employees just have this face and body attitude of "sigh, here's another annoying patron". I have always gotten that vibe every time I pick up my food after ordering over the phone. Ironically enough, the employees are nicer and attentive over the phone lol. This was the first time I dined in rather than ordering so I averaged my evaluation down to two stars. The food is for sure 5 stars authentic when it comes to the puerto rican and dominican dishes. HOWEVER, when it comes to the Cuban offerings, they are not authentic cuban dishes. What's in a name basically applies here. The Cuban food here is basically cuban inspired but made with puerto rican flare. I had a cortadito And it was no cortadito. If you are cuban and/or from Miami, you KNOW what a cortadito is. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was not made with cuban bread but with puerto rican pan sobao. So every dish besides the Cuban ones are authentic. Going back to service - the server forgot my cortadito but turned the tables as if I wanted it after my food. When I checked in, there's a free dessert with an entree and the server marked it as used on my phone but several mins later another employee came over to tell us that they didn't have any dessert and that they will give it to us on our next visit. I didn't want to bother with something free so I said there's no problem. The point is why did she send someone else to tell us and not herself? The waiters were not attentive to the tables and were just in the front talking. Other tables were upset. When we wanted more water and wanting to pay, they were no where to be found. Would I come back to dine in? No. I will stick to just ordering in since the real workers are in the kitchen. read more

I always come here for their Ceasar Salad, fried cheese with guava sauce, and the piña coladas!! They are seriously the best. The Piña coladas are so creamy and authentic. I get them with no alcohol...I don't even think they serve alcohol but I'm not for sure. Anyway, they have other amazing options like seafood, meats, and burgers. Definitely try them out if you want something different. The service is great. They are always so attentive and welcoming. It helps that it's not a large restaurant. This spot caught my attention through their advertising on Instagram. The more I saw their pictures, the more I craved to go their location. Upon doing some additional research, I didn't realize they had another 2-3 spots in Orlando, but since the Instagram page was promoting this particular spot I wanted to stay with that location. I already know a lot of great Latino restaurants, so telling my family we were trying a new spot was not well received, but I was able to convinced them that we would have a nice experience. Once we arrived- we were tended to and separated from another group so it was good to see them keeping to the 6-feet rule. Plus everyone had mask, & gloves! That was a plus! The staff was extremely sweet and wanted to make sure we had a great understanding of the menu since it was our first time. We started off with a unique appetizer which was Fried Cheese, tostones, salami and a sauce. That was off the chain!! So GOOD! I would just come back for that! But it's also something I can make at home- lol! My wife had the shrimp bi-fongo. We have had mofongo, tri-fongo but never bi-fongo. It was sweet plantations and yucca together- it was so delicious. My son and I had the same meal- white rice, beans, and pork chops. The pork chops were crazy good!!! The rice and beans in our opinion lacked flavor and salt. Therefore that was disappointing- but over all good prices, great portions, great service. I've been here a few times with my boyfriend in the past, so this was not our first visit. They usually have really good lunch specials that are affordable and plenty of tasty food. But this time I was disappointed, not because of the price or portion; the flavor was missing for me. I'm used to the pork being a little more cooked but this time it seemed that maybe it wasn't cooked long enough and there was no flavor to it and the red beans seemed more salty than usual. My boyfriend wasn't disappointed by his steak sandwich and still had half left which is unusual for him because he usually finishes all his food so he offered me the other half but I wasn't a fan of that either.
