Rico Chino is one of my fav spots and never disappoints. When you walk in it's really small but it does have dine in seating. It's always super clean as well. I had placed my order over the phone for pickup and as I was asking for my order it came right out of the kitchen. My food was still hot when I arrived home so I knew it was fresh. I ordered the Tostones, Crab Rangoon, and Spare ribs with Fried Rice. The tostones had lots of garlic which I loved, the crab rangoons were perfectly crispy, the fried rice tasted great and had tons of meat in it, and the ribs were delicious and flavorful. I had high hopes for this place, but it fell short in multiple areas. Everything seemed sub-par and mediocre at best. The establishment, service, and food were all disappointing in my opinion. For such a small place, I feel they should be able to keep it much more clean and tidy. The service was bland and the food was disappointing. The only real positive were the prices. I ordered the beef and broccoli combo and the 2 piece fried chicken with French fries. I'm truly not trying to bash this place but I must be honest with my review. The brown sauce with the beef n broccoli had this weird aftertaste and although the fried rice was the best part of the entire meal, it too quickly became blah. I did like the smoked flavor that the rice had from the wok, but everything else was a miss. The fries were soggy (it was dine-in not take out) and while the chicken pieces were large snd crispy, it was obviously re-fried and not fresh. I also ordered "egg rolls" but we got 2 spring rolls instead, that were over-cooked. Again, I really wanted to like this place but it was not a favorable experience. Top tier and may even put it amongst my top 5 Chinese restaurants of all time. This place offers Chinese food, mostly Puerto Rican style that include fries/tostones, both being savory sides that bolster the experience. The only reason I have to give it a 4 out of 5 is for the wait to get the food every time I go here. Between ordering and getting my food I've had to wait 30+ minutes every time so it's something I have to consider before coming here. I don't really let this deter me though, as the food is amongst the closest I can find like back home in Puerto Rico, would recommend this place to anyone itching for some good Chinese food! read more

This used to be a Chinese take out place but now it's a Puerto Rican Chinese. We wanted to try this place as we have always been curious about the difference between Chinese and Puerto Rican Chinese food. Obviously there is a difference as you can tell by the different cultures ... but I feel like the Chinese takeouts here in Florida have some Spanish flair to them as there are not many Chinese people here. Looking at the menu.. yes they have your typical Chinese favorites from fried rice, orange chicken, etc. You name it they got it. They even have hibachi meal combos and yes their signature fried chicken which I did NOT enjoy. We went with the beef hibachi that came with fried rice which was delicious ..and to be quite honest, tasted better than any other hibachi place I've been too. I was pleasantly surprised by that. We ordered the walnut shrimp meal that came with a side of vegetables soup. Walnut shrimp was decent but was missing the honey--- it just tasted like shrimp with a dollop of Mayo on top. The side vegetable soup was good-- the clear broth made the soup look appealing and the veggies were fresh. I know this place prides their fried chicken which you can order as a side or by the dozens. It just wasn't my favorite on the menu. It didn't taste fresh like it had been fried in recycled oil. The way to find out if a Chinese restaurant has good food starts with how well they do fried rice, IMHO. I've had Puerto Rican Chinese food before and it was an amazing experience. It was Puerto Chino in Sanford, next to Flea World. It was Chinese Puerto Ricans cooking so they had a sense of Chinese flavors in all their dishes. Unfortunately, I didn't see Chinese cooks so the fried rice lacked Asian flavors. Also, the top of the fried rice container had 3 strategically placed shrimps. Once you go through them, that will be the last of the shrimp you'll see as you continue to eat. read more

Was told about this place from a coworker and quite excited to give it a try. I'm always excited to try new places and especially ones I could possibly throw into my lunch break rotation. I was very curious about trying an Chinese/Puerto Rican inspired restaurant. As of now there is no menu online so I had call to ask about the menu and pricing I decided to do their lunch combination with General Tso Chicken. It comes with fried rice but I substituted it for noodles (so glad I did) and french fries (weird but whatever an extra side I'll take it). Picked it up, everything smelled delicious, and upon opening the carton I was very excited. The General Tso had great flavor, a nice crunchy/crispy outer layer, and tender juicy meat in the middle. Like I commented earlier I was excited about subbing the noodles because they weren't like you're average lo mein noodles it was actually like soba noodles which to me were more flavorful and I enjoy. The combination of both the noodles and the chicken was very pleasing. The only bummer for me was since I got it to go the fries were cold and soggy by the time I got back to eat them. Overall I'm very excited to add this restaurant to my rotation and if I'm in the area and have more time try dine in so the food comes out fresh.
