My favorite part about living so close to this restaurant is their lunch menu. I had always wanted to come visit during dinner to see their live music and it didn't disappoint. Staff is super friendly. There is a little weight to get seated but once you're inside in the ambience is surrounding you, you forget all about it. All staff is really friendly and amazing. The appetizer was OK. The plantains were kind of dry, but then we had the paella to share and I have to say wow what an amazing dish very highly recommended. It was absolutely delicious all the seafood cooked to perfection. Be aware there is an automatic service charge of 20%. This seems high but you have to be aware. This is an entertainment restaurant with live music so they try to get their cost covered in someway; going to dinner Here is an experience not just eating food.

The previous review was for a Venezuelan restaurant that took over their old space. This was a totally different location. First impression is coming into a bright colored live Dominican Restaurant. Our hostess was very friendly. We sat in a spot next to a big party so I let her know it was too loud and we moved to a much quieter spot. Our server she seemed pretty standoffish from the beginning. Not welcoming and not helpful. All she did was take the order and it was hard to find her. With that, there was a 20 percent service fee right away. They said bc it was the weekend. Nothing special was going on and it was during the day. We ordered fried cheese with guava and a mofongo with pork. We saw the mofongo on IG and it looked really good but when we got it, it was very dry so we asked for more sauce. We also asked for more guava sauce. Each time we asked for something, it was never from our server bc she was no where to be found. This may grab your attention due to the decor or the music but the food and service was nothing special plus that 20 percent service fee for a party of 2 not 6 or more.

The restaurant itself is beautiful is very clean, colorful, and welcoming. It has a lively vibe that makes you want to sit down and enjoy a good Dominican meal. I ordered the Bistec Encebollado, but unfortunately it came out cold and missed the mark. A dish like this should be hot, flavorful, and comforting. My partner tried the Patacón Pisa'o (plantain sandwich), which looked creative and fun and the taste was good. For drinks, I had the Medicina de Amor (Love Medicine) a bright and fruity cocktail that was probably the highlight of the meal. While the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant were excellent, the food wasn't as consistent as I hoped. With a little more attention to flavor, and serving dishes at the right temperature, this place has the potential to match its beautiful setting. The service was ok. The lady taking the pictures was more attentive than the server. You get a free picture and that was fun.

The food was great! But it was extremely loud and you could not have a conversation or even order without screaming into the server or your whoever your with ears. The service was good and our waiter was nice. I was not a big fan of the ambiance because of the noise level. It would've been nice if it was just a tad bit more quiet and I could enjoy conversation with my friends. We also went super late at night and there is a different night menu.

We had such a fun experience! While we were visiting Kissimmee we had looked for restaurant to try that was close to where we were staying. We read the great reviews and looked at the menu and we were sold, and came to give it a try. It was less than 5 minutes from where we were staying and pretty close to old town. Located in a shopping center with parking. When we walked in it was loud with music playing and we were greeted with a friendly hostess. The restaurant was busy with a birthday party and full of diners. They were getting ready to start the live music, it was perfect timing. Every detail was well thought out. The vibrant decor of colors representing the Caribbean felt like you were transported to Santo Domingo. The menus were meant to look like the Dominican passport and the drink menu was the boarding pass. Such a cute detail! We started the night off with a magarita large enough for two with a beer turned upside down in it. For appetizer we ordered yucca balls filled with mozzarella and served in a delicious white bechamel sauce. With the hot sauce they brought to the table it was a perfect bite drizzle with some heat. Highly recommend it was tasty. The portions are a good size to share. We were served with 3 yucca balls. For our main we shared the beef monfongo. Oh my it was a good portion and more than enough for two people. The dish was served with the Dominican flag. It was so rich with flavor. Mofongo is made with fried green plantains that are mashed with garlic and is typically served with a side of fried meat and broth. For dessert we had a warm bread pudding marinated with rum and a scoop of ice cream. With every bite you could taste the warm hint of rum and the ice cold ice cream were a great pair. As the evening went on people started dancing to the live band and the sound got louder. As much as I loved the energy I thought the music was loud. It was hard to communicate. Overall if you are in the area definitely stop by for delicious food and great vibes!

During my trip to the Kissimmee area for a freestyle reunion concert, my friend Vancy, and I took a fun & delicious culinary detour to the Dominican Republic via Perico Ripiao restaurant. I mean, start off with the fact that their menu covers look like the Dominican passport and the drink menu looks like a plane ticket! It's located a short distance from hotel row. Tucked away in a strip mall entrance, we walked into a loud and lively restaurant with a lot of culture from the DR, from the Brugal bottle to the "Descarada" doll (folklore dolls from the Dominican Republic painted with no face). The volume of the bachata and merengue is LOUD! You come here to eat and have fun, not necessarily to chat. Our waitress was pleasant and in point with recommendations. We started by sharing a tequila michelada with a bottle of Presidente (traditional Dominican beer). Next up was a tasty & rich appetizer of Yuqita. These rolled balls of yucca & cheese, similar to an arancini, were set in a yummy bechamel & hot sauce (of course we asked for extra hot sauce.) For the main course, we shared their "COTIZAO" (steak mofongo). Mofongo, as an FYI, is a dish with a plantain crust, chicharrón and broth. It is then stuffed with a meat or veggie of your choosing. Although our waitress said the plate was for one, it was so hearty & tasty to the point I was almost full. However, room had to be made for dessert! Dessert was a warm bread pudding, marinate in rum (of course!!) and a scoop of ice cream on top. The flavors were so good that two "full" individuals almost finished it. Que Rico! So basically next time you're in Kissimmee, run don't walk, here for delicious Dominican bites and dancing. It takes more of a club vibe including a live band later at night.

What a great restaurant! To the decor to the food down to the atmosphere! The food is full of flavor and a lot of options. The service was so friendly and made me feel special. I love all the decor it felt like I was on the island. At night the live music goes and it is a fun time!! This place is a must!

Love the people that work there the menu the food the Dominican culture immersed in the restaurant and the music! So fun so happy so tasty. We ordered the app Picalona the milanesa fish and the medicina de amor all so tasty . I preffered the service before 5 our waitress was so nice and helpful and though my first drink didn't come with syringe it was visible shot my second drink came with syringe but it was of juice mix and I didn't feel the alcohol. The bathrooms are even filled with Dominican decor from lemisol to Dominican leave in conditioner. I loved it my soul was happy. The yucca mash and the garlic dipping sauce was perfect for my fish. When I come back to Florida I will be back. Also so cute about their birthday singing w instruments with Dominican pots -calderos- and live music. UPDATE*****BE CAREFUL AFTER THE FIRST WAITRESS LEFT I OPENENED A NEW CHECK WITH ANOTHER WAITRESS HER NAME IS YOCASTA AND THE PLACE IS ALREADY PRICEY AND INCLUDES TIP BUT I GAVE HER AN ADDITIONAL TIP OF $6 AND WHEN I CHECKED MY BANK STATEMENT IT SAID SHE GAVE HERSELF A $60 TIP! The second check was only $62 so why would she think I would give her a $60 tip?! All the red flags are raised. If you eat here it will be fun and tasty but you have to check your bank statement!!

If you are looking for a club atmosphere but not go to a club this is the place to be. We went on a Saturday night and at 9pm it turns into a club feel. It is a very loud atmosphere even from the start with a DJ then a live band starts at 9pm. The service was on point even as busy as they are it is a very lively place to be. The food was good, the appetizer of the hamburger could've used a little more sauce as the tostones made it a little dry. They go around to the different tables and ask if anyone is celebrating a birthday and they make a big deal about that and everyone is singing, clapping and dancing. A photographer goes around and takes pic of the tables and of course sells them at the end which we did end up buying two 4x7 pictures for $30.00. We will definitely will be back even though it is a little pricey it is a very fun place to be

Walking in this places decor is great super caribeño. They had live music and the ambiance was amazing. However the food lacked flavor. For it to be a "Dominican" spot le falto sazon a todo. And we tried 7 different items lol. The drinks -- were good on point. I had the nueva yol old fashioned made with brugal. 10/10 would come back for the band and drinks. 1/10 for the food it was just super bland and dry Mofongos.

Upon unbagging the order at home the rice & beans were missing to my specific meal we ordered about 4-5 meals. And the beans given for 5.99 was extremely small. I drove all the way back to inform them the meal was missing the rice and beans if they can remake the order for me since I've just had to drive all the way back, and if I can have the correct beans I live 30-40 min away. The server tells the active manager Tito what has happened, Tito arrives to inform me he is going to check the cameras because the kitchen staff is stating they included everything and he needs to find out who is telling the truth.... At this point I'm now waiting for Tito to conduct his investigation For RICE AND BEANS, After sometime he returns to go to the chefs and come back and tell me they made a mistake. So he makes me wait only to receive rice and beans and no chicken. I inform him the chicken was made and picked up an hour ago I was hoping to receive the meal fresh since I am now going to have to eat this with cold chicken from 1 hr ago what am I suppose to do? He stated for me to rewarm the chicken because he knows if he makes the chicken fresh I will keep the one at home and eat it another time. You would think for the massive inconvenience of having to come back twice I would've received the food fresh. No that was not the case, after making me seem at fault even seeing on camera I was telling the truth. I've been coming here for years and have never encountered such unprofessional unempathetic terrible customer service. Tito stated to go home and come back with the chicken so he can make it fresh.... I don't think the active manager even understands how to deescalate or provide ANY customer service. Their service is great and fast, but more importantly their food is mouth watering good. It always leaves me with a craving to come back and a full stomach ready to tackle the rest of my workday. My favorites have consisted of a Cuban sandwich which is full of pork and sauce and toasted nicely. It also does not fall apart when eating which is a plus when you are trying to stay looking presentable. Their pork is amazingly juicy and just falls apart in your mouth and has been worth every stain I have accidentally caused on my dress shirts. The white rice is fluffy and simple and good but their yellow rice is much better with many items. Their chicharron de cerdo is crispy and breaks easy and it's never been hard or chewy. Their ropa vieja is also delicious and I can't help but devour the entire plate. The rice and beans paired real good with this! My favorite sides have been the avocado salad and their macaroni salad! Both very light and balanced well with light citrus flavors in the avocado salad. I'll keep coming back here because the food honestly reminds me of so many great dishes my family use to make at home and after eating at so many places around Orlando I had yet to find a better place to get Spanish food like this!

From the service, to the cleanliness and of course the food: flavors, portions, everything hits the right spot. The place is quite brightly lit with a lot of tropical houseplants as part of the decor. There are three sections to the restaurant: A cafeteria, an indoor dining area and an outdoor dining area. The indoor dining area entirely consists of private booths whereas the outdoor section has tables and chairs. The service is warm, friendly, quick and most importantly efficient. The portions served are big. This was our third visit to Maracas in the past 4 months and they have been very consistent with their service, food quality as well as quantity. As far as the food is concerned, it will remind one of a hispanic home. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the meats are cooked tender, the beans are rich yet delicious, the rice is buttery, the yucas perfectly seasoned with mojo and the tostones are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside: just like you'd expect your Noche Buena meal to taste like at your abuela's dinner table. On this last visit, we had our usual tostones for appetizers, for the entrées we had the pernil (roast pork) with a side of rice, beans and maduros (yes, they offer three sides with all entrées), we also had the rabo (oxtail curry) with rice, beans and yuca con mojo. Everything was delicious and as always we couldn't finish our meal because of the large portions they serve and had to request take away containers. If you're looking for finger-licking good Dominican food (also for the Cubans looking for food similar to theirs), look no further. Maracas is the place to go. There's a reason we keep returning to this place.
