Omg! This is the best BBQ in town. It's not like any other BBQ place. All the other ones I've been to taste the same. This here is fresh and made everyday. This is not a chain restaurant. The walk inside transports you to a vintage world that is now lost in the past. Very cool and nostalgic feeling. Staff are super nice and work together as a team to get the orders out to the customers. A little bit of a wait but it is worth it, trust me! Satisfaction filled me with a blissful warm belly. They serve you enough that you can finish but you will leave content not stuffed to the point where you just can't move or breath. This place was a good barbecue place and the food is still good with some caveats. But someone watched the Bear and is trying to turn a barbecue hotspot to a restaurant. Out front they have Michelin 2026 on their sign. They're now a sit down restaurant inside of with a vinyl DJ playing jazz. The food is still good, but the atmosphere is a horrible mismatch. I can't even get my own refill of iced tea you have to have your waitress take your plastic cup while you hold your straw to get a refill. I was told to wait at the bar to place an order. Then I stood there for two minutes before being asked if I wanted a menu. Then I waited to place an order. The bartender informed me that he has to make a couple drinks before he can get to my iced tea ( self service wouldn't have this issue) . When I got my to-go iced tea, I had to find my own straw ( once again not an issue with self service). Food was ready to go fast enough. But as I waited the clash of a barbecue place with everyone trying to be upscale when they have anime playing on the TV that you can't hear because they're blaring jazz. The worst part was the cornbread I got was about an inch and a half diameter cupcake. I don't know what they charged me for the cornbread, but it was too much for the Costco free sample size of cornbread I got. I felt like I just ordered the cornbread small plate at an American themed European restaurant. Aside from the cornbread, they do know how to do their food well but they have no direction. Please get rid of the liquor license you only need beer. Get rid of the DJ. Make your cornbread in a pan or a skillet and make it big enough that one hand eating is challenging. In the neighborhood and like their sign says, she wanted donuts, he wanted barbecue. They gave both at Smoke & Donuts ;) We popped in around 1:45 and thought they might be closing until dinner. Nope--they were simply performing the delicate midafternoon dance of switching from brunch to lunch. They seated us right away, with the owner's charming mother helping everyone find a table. Fair warning: this place is packed and loud, with '70s and '80s music playing just a little louder than necessary. My husband and I have been together for more than 35 years, so we don't need to fill every quiet moment with conversation. While we waited, we happily researched our next trip and studied train schedules on our phones like the exciting couple we have become. We ordered the French toast, which costs the same as the pancakes with blueberries and pecans. Pancakes arrived. They were delicious, the restaurant was slammed, and we decided not to send them back. Our problem, not theirs--and once enough sugar enters the bloodstream, the brain conveniently forgets what it originally ordered. At 2:00, the menu switched to lunch, so we ordered the barbecue jackfruit with Brussels sprouts. The computer system was down, which meant the order had to be handwritten and walked back to the kitchen. It took about 40 minutes, but we knew they were struggling with the system, and the food was truly delicious and worth waiting for. Then the plot thickened. Without us ever mentioning the pancake mix-up, they brought us the French toast on the house. The head chef came out to check on us and apologized for the computer trouble. Then came a complimentary vanilla-glazed doughnut with mini chocolate chips. At the end of the meal, cinnamon-sugar doughnuts appeared, also complimentary. By then, I was so full I was considering whether breathing counted as overeating, so some of the doughnuts came home with us. We also ordered iced tea that never arrived. We didn't realize it until the bill came, but after the surprise French toast and parade of free doughnuts, we certainly weren't going to hold it against them. Honestly, by that point, I felt like I owed them money. Yes, there were a few mistakes. Yes, the music could come down a notch. But the food is calorie-laden, delicious, and apparently capable of erasing minor grievances from the human brain. Don't you love it when a restaurant exceeds your expectations? Granted, I went in not expecting much to be honest. I feel like the vast majority of BBQ places here in Orlando are all kind of the same. There use to be one place in particular I really enjoyed when it first started and as it expanded with multiple locations popping up everywhere, it lost its soul irreversibly in the process. S&D was not our first choice initially. We had just had drinks at Sideward brewing and were looking for some grub. We looked up on Yelp, and this was only like 3 minutes away. When we walked in, I felt like we were in a replica of Stardust coffee shop. It's got so much vintage stuff everywhere. It had a laid-back hippie vibe that immediately made me feel right at home. They had a DJ playing old school music; I loved it immediately. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu, and so it was easy to make up my mind. I went with the smoked turkey breast plate. When done right, smoked turkey breast is delicious so that was the test for me. I chose fries and baked beans as my side. My friend chose the pulled pork, mac n cheese, and baked beans with the addition of the corn bread. My other friend had the 3 meats plate. he chose brisket, chicken, and pork belly. I loved everything on my plate. The difference from other BBQ places being that this was homemade, you can taste the difference from other places that are just heating pre-packaged stuff up. Having said that, you're also going to wait, especially on Friday night when they were pretty busy. We sat at a table where we could see people cooking. I loved watching the girl add the cheese to mac n cheese and flip the noodles around, watching them ooze with cheese. That was such an awesome sight to behold. The turkey was moist, smokey and absolutely delicious, I would've loved another slice of it. Having said that, if you go in hungry, you will probably have to order something else in addition to your meal, depending on what you get, the portions can be small compared to other places. Best donuts & music in town! I recently loved attending their Common Ground event. They always have a good mix of things going on including a diversity of art vendors, local produce, etc. The musical selection here is supreme. I especially liked listening to sets by Neil T, No Por Na, and Myles. There is a certain level of authenticity present here that you don't get at other venues. Chef Ian, the owner, is very personable and involved in his creation which I think adds to the overall atmosphere and vibe. This whole project begun as a food truck and has developed into this very aesthetically pleasing, inclusive, and unique environment. The vibe inside is very nice. I came on a Friday night with friends for the Vinyl on hifi. We had made a reservation but there didn't end up being a host/hostess and seating ourselves. The DJ was still setting up when we arrived at 8 and as the night went on the lights continued to lower and the music continues to get louder. It was a bit chaotic and took a long time to order a drink or anything to start. Once we did flag down a server though, everything came out fairly quick. We split a bunch of items and we loved everything we had. The ribs were the favorite of the group though the wings also had plenty of sauce and flavor. The donut was truly standout and was crispy on the outside but divinely moist on the inside. My cocktail was also super flavorful and they had a nice pour on the wines. It's like stopping by your cool aunts place in the city for a bite to eat. The interior gives modern industrial vibes and the owner seats you herself. We sat right next to the kitchen and could see all the yummy food coming out to the tables. I ordered the Prime Brisket Smashburger and it totally hit the spot! As you park and enter what looks like an old diner you are greeted and sat. Now we were lucky and the owner was there to greet and seat us with friendly vibes. This place was busy but we didn't have to wait for a seat, but if you do have to wait let me spoil it now, wait cause it will be worth it! The brisket and egg on the donut I had was perfectly sweet and savory, with the proportion being the perfect amount for about $8. They do have some adult beverages as well, but none were had at this time. Then when you are done you can go to the donut counter to order some specialty donuts to eat. 5 Star update for one of my new favorite brunch spots! (Get the brisket-stacked pancakes ASAP). I love S&D for lunch, but recently got to try out their brunch on a Saturday morning with some girlfriends and it was FABULOUS. First off, note that they have added a vinyl DJ area (so fun!) and now offer table service (perfect for ordering more brunch cocktails!). My favorite brunch dishes I got to try were the brisket-stacked pancakes and the brisket egg & cheese sandwich. The pancakes are made with donut batter and have a hint of citrus. I was offered regular maple syrup or a bourbon version and obviously went with the latter. The brisket was perfection and made this dish the best representation of salty-sweet decadence. I can't imagine ordering anything else for brunch now that I've tried this... And yet, I got to try my friend's brisket egg & cheese sandwich and holy cow the caramelized onions took it to another level. if you're looking for something featuring eggs for breakfast- this is a must. In terms of drinks, I liked their peach spritz. It wasn't too sweet and it was a hearty pour! And even better- they made me a great cortado, so don't forget to get a well-made espresso drink while you're there. Previous lunch review: 5 Stars because I am OBSESSED with this family-owned barbeque spot (their food, staff, bar program, etc!)! My sisters had been raving about Smoke & Donuts for a while now because it's super family-friendly and they go with their group of friends (and their kids) often. They talked up the food, of course, but it is the staff that really sells them. It's family-owned and everyone there is an absolute joy whenever I've been. They offer everyone free little donut holes with their orders and they remember you like you're part of the family. I've enjoyed the brisket (WOW) and the pulled chicken- Both are standouts! Something else on the menu that totally surprised me and stayed on my mind was the mac & cheese side. It's so unusual, but I am a big fan! It's got a rich flavor and then an almost sweet aftertaste. We originally had planned on going to the Hawaiian diner around the corner but found out they close at 3pm on Sundays and arrived right after close. After a quick yelp search I found this place right around the corner. And we are so glad I did! First off the vibe in this place is amazing. From the music all being played from vinyl records, to watching the drinks and doughnuts get made, and just the entire vibe overall was amazing. The Price Is Right was playing on the TV (original when Bob Barker had dark hair), and the owner was behind two turntables lining up the next few songs. We ordered the biscuits & gravy with pulled pork, the Prime Brisket Bowl, and the Prime Brisket sandwich. It's the weekend so the had a bit of a brunch flare to the menu. Eggs, grits, and home fries were with most meals. They give you pork rinds while you wait for your food. I got the Prime Brisket Bowl with extra eggs (poached). It was very tasty, but I would prefer it have a little more meat and less home fries. I asked for some tangy BBQ sauce, and they brought out a small (thimble sized) cup. The sauce is good, but I would love to have a bottle on the table. The brisket has very good flavor. I tried the grits, and they were thick and even had a hint of cheese. Quite good. All of the servers and the owner were friendly and attentive. Great service and quick took. They encourage you to ask for donuts when you finish. We visited smoke and donuts on a Friday night fairly late. There were 4 of us and they had us sit wherever we wanted since there weren't that many people. While they weren't serving their full menu, they did have a really cool looking Japanese pop up menu, but we were just there for donuts. They didn't have all the beers on their list, but they still had a good selection and a solid bar. I also got a bacon blast donut which was very solid. I loved the maple bourbon topping and the bacon was great. My one comment is that it was a little too much sweetness for my taste. I felt like there wasn't enough bacon for the whole donut. Since it was our first time we always try and order a variety of items to see if there's anything that stand out. We tried several of their sandwiches and a tray of donuts. The pork sandwich was decent, I'm not a fan of the bbq sauce, a bit too thin for my liking, not real option for hot either, lot of sweet or vinegar options, which sweet bbq + sweet donut = a bit overkill. Some heat would have been nice. The bbq overall was a 6/10 as there wasn't anything that stood out as a star or that you'd get anywhere else. The donuts were way too sweet for us, they are well done, but if you like super sweet then they'll be right up your alley. Went for a late lunch around 3:30 PM on a Sunday. The condensed parking lot was nearly full, but I was able to secure a spot. Inside wasn't very busy, a few other tables were oppucied, one being a larger party. The live vinyl being played was a bit loud upon entering, but once getting seated it didn't bother me or hinder conversation. This being my first visit, I found the staff to be helpful and very welcoming. I selected the Salty Englishman donut and the Prime Brisket sandwich with a side of the Mac & Cheese. My donut was old fashioned cakey style, which I enjoyed. I saved some to take home. The black pepper bark on my brisket was a bit overpowering for me, but it still tasted good. The mac & cheese has a bit of a sour taste to it, which isn't bad, just unique. A pricey outing for 2 people ($63), so I wouldn't do it often. I've been wanting to try it, though, and it was a nice experience. Looking forward to returning eventually and trying other menu items. read more

Went here for the first time on Sunday with 6 other family members and I wish I had gotten around to eating here a lot sooner. The vibe was chill - my 5 year old niece could not stop watching a really old episode of The Price is Right (Bob Barker had brown hair!). Service was wonderful: you sit at the table and look at a paper menu (I know this is important to some people), and when you're ready to order, you go up to the counter and order from the owner/chef's mom (super sweet) and pay at the same time, then take a number to your table. pork rinds come out (surprisingly great! now i can call myself a fan of pork rinds), and then items come out as they are ready. It's different people running your food to you as it's ready, and each of them were really nice and pleasant. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, as were the thick slices of bacon and perfectly seasoned home fries (personally wished these were cubed a little bigger). As a creature of habit, I get my sweet and salty fill with their brisket slider. I usually also get their side of mac & cheese and baked beans or Brussel sprouts. However, the sides tend to be hit and miss pending who's ever back in the kitchen those days. Sometimes, the sides are phenomenal and other times I'm not impressed. The slider though is usually pretty good for me. Since I am not a brisket connoisseur, I cannot compare it to probably other places that really make a name for themselves because of their brisket, but just know, it's good enough for me. Ultimately, as I mentioned, it's the donuts that do it for me!! I am a cake donut lover and they just have a really good cake-y donut to me!! It's usually the perfect consistency of all things. While I don't venture too much beyond my usual favorites like just the traditional donut and their lavender coconut, I have tried others like the Oreo one and I've enjoyed it. Again, I am creature of habit and once I find what I like, I usually stick to it. So, that lavender and coconut donut does it to me each time!! I'm never disappointed! I always want more!! In addition to all that, it should be mentioned that the staff are great! They are very kind and will help guide you in your choices if you need the extra help!! They also host numerous events at Smoke & Donuts, like trivia on Tuesdays - which I've participated in before. It was a great time!! This was my first time at this location and I was looking for a BBQ restaurant because I had a craving for ribs. When I got to the location, it was not too many people there and I was greeted. He unfortunately told me that they didn't no longer have ribs, but I can try the brisket which I did and I also had a side of macaroni and cheese and also coleslaw. The brisket was OK. It wasn't much of a fan of it but the macaroni and cheese they hit the ball out of the park. glad the brisket was decent because there's nothing else that really works. pulled pork was super bland and had a minimal hit of bbq sauce. this is my second visit, first was maybe 2 years ago, when the vibe was decidedly an upscale hipster attempt at bbq now we've evolved into the Orlando Special asian fusion vinyl bar treatment. service was minimal which is fine. also went on a sunday and they were out of two of three of our first choices, which the server informed was usual at the end of the week. unfortunate that it's a regular occurrence. if you're looking for bbq there's many other options in town if you're looking for a vibey-ish experience for instagram then it's a good pick. one donut we got was great like most donuts you can get in town. read more

Based on the reviews, my expectations were medium to high, but unfortunately they were not met. Although all the staff were very attentive and friendly, and the pulled pork was flavorful, the portion size of my bowl left a lot to be desired for the price. Not counting the tip, the pulled pork bowl is around $15. What was disappointing was the amount of meat, which I found it to be very little. The cabbage and onions were tasty, but the other sides didn't seem that fresh. It was a shame because I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for quite some time. If you're a foodie and into sweet salty savory, something that different that you never had before. This is a good spot it'll definitely overwhelm your taste buds in a good way. It's rich in textures and flavors be prepared and it could get messy that's a good thing. I had cake doughnuts with bbq turkey and burnt ends. Ate there when it was a food truck. Finally got to check out their brick and mortar store! I remember when they started as a food truck. Congratulations on the store front!! It's the same delicious donuts as before! They have a nice variety of pre selected flavors and toppings if you do t want a premade donut. The smoke in the name is the most delicious bbq you can pair with a donut! When I came, I got a cinnamon sugar donut and a bag of brisket jerky. The jerker was very tender and flavorful, I highly recommend it! The service was just as amazing as the food! A fun local spot that offers sweet and savory. Finally headed in here after hearing so many great things, and it wasn't hard to figure out why. Although the parking lot is small, there is street parking nearby so it isn't too hard to find a place to park and walk if needed. Once inside you grab a menu and order at the register. You'll be provided a table number and have a seat while you wait for your food to be delivered. I opted for a meat plate with some sides, the little had mac and cheese (per usual), and the husband had a sandwich which was on a donut for a bun! Everything came out as ordered, the only bummer was that they were out of baked beans when we went and the next batch wasn't quite ready to be served. I'd love to go back and try that out for sure. The food was delicious and of course the complementary sugar / cinnamon donut was a hit for everyone at the table! Overall: A Solid local spot we'll definitely be going back to. read more

Finally got to try this place tonight. First, before you even get inside, you are greeted with a yummy smokey scent. The interior of this place has some fun retro vibes. The lovely woman at the counter introduced herself as the mother of the owners and she helped us decide what to order. We tried a meat sampler plate, and some new items. I forgot the names of the new items, but they were incredible. We got a donut with pulled pork or brisket on it and, the winner of the night, was a crepe with Mac n cheese, pulled pork (or brisket? I highly recommend this one!), and an amazing sauce. It was so delicious, we fought over who got the last bite! My husband and I agreed that we can't wait come back and especially to bring his midwestern BBQ loving family here next time they visit! read more
