I have been wanting to try this place for a really long time! There are a lot of great things in the Mills market so I had to check it out. I ordered the Singapore rice noodles and the spring rolls. They have a pretty good portion size here the spring rolls were perfectly crispy and had great flavor. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce as well. The Singapore rice noodles were really good as well and there was a good amount of meat in it. You should definitely check this place out if you haven't already!
Split the 2 meat rice box with a friend, what a great deal! We tried the crispy pork and roast duck which also came with bok choy and rice. The crispy pork was my fave of the two as the flavor of the duck was a bit off for me and it was tricky to eat in the large chunks. Kai Kai js located inside Mills 50 Market which can get super busy so be prepared to take your food to go if need be.
Both the roasted pork are pretty good. The duck is just ok, not used to red colored duck. We tried the trio meat rice dish to go.fast service.
Kai Kai is a great place to go if you like Asian style bbq on rice. We pick two meats which are roasted duck and crispy pork. It's fattier than what I prefer but it is what it is. It still can hit the spot when you crave it. Service is nice and quick. The ambiance is casual and prepare yourself if you come here during rush hours.
This was so good two of these and you're fully stuffed. The bread is sweet and a little greasy, which honestly isn't usually my thing, however it worked beautifully with the savory of the roast duck. I just wished they stuffed the Bao bun with more of the duck. Still, it's warm, flavorful, and absolutely worth trying.
Was so excited to finally make it over to Mills Market! I had no idea there were multiple Michelin spots in here, and though the inside is on the small side, we were able to snag a table. I'd recommend maybe coming on the early side for better seating! Kai Kai was our main focus for this visit, so we tried a little of everything! Dumpling and soup dumplings were good, but the soup dumplings had great flavor and really stood out! Fried rice was a great staple, and the ribs were well liked by the group. My favorite was the beef chow fun - the flavor was awesome on the beef and noodles! My only note is that for the price point, I'd love to have seen a bit more beef in the entree, but I'd still return just for this dish!
This stall is in Mills Market so I wasn't too sure about it. Kai Kai has the 3 meat combo and I think that is the best deal so you can try everything. My personal favorites to get is the duck, bbq char siu, and the crispy pork. The roasted duck was good but was a bit on the fattier side. The char siu had good flavor and balance of sweet and savory. The crispy pork was delicious and had that crunchy skin that you would crave. The dish also comes with rice and bok choy. Overall, I would recommend this pale if you are in the mood for duck, char siu, or crispy pork.
Hands down the tastiest roast duck I've ever had! The seasoning, the crust, and the juiciness are on point. We asked the friendly lady at the counter about the seasoning ingredients in the duck and she laughed at us in a "good try" way . It's understandable that they wouldn't want to reveal their secret recipe. The other proteins were tasty too, but not as memorable as the duck. I really enjoyed their bok choy too. Service was a tiny bit slow, but reasonable for a Friday evening.
Sooooo good! Came for lunch with my son and it did not disappoint! Although the Mills Market is small the vibe is elite! Everything looks so good but we opted for Kai Kai today... the triple meat platter is incredible and honestly big enough to share... roast pork, crispy pork and duck... with bok choy and rice... I'm drooling! The chow fun was delicious! I'm so full! The food came out piping hot and fast! The staff is super friendly as well. Overall I literally have nothing not incredible to say... just visit and go hungry!
Always on the hunt for the best char siu when I'm out of town, and TikTok led me to this gem inside a food hall. Kai Kai BBQ came through when I didn't feel like cooking (especially with a 3-hour drive home ahead of us). We ordered a little bit of everything--fried rice, bok choy, shumai, char siu bao--and of course, the main event: a pound and a half of char siu. Let's talk about it...solid 8/10. The char siu had great flavor, nice glaze, and that balance of sweet and savory I look for. Definitely scratched the itch. Everything else was good and rounded out the meal well, but the pork was the star. Food hall vibes keep it casual and quick, perfect for when you want something satisfying without the fuss.
Absolutely love this place. All the foods here an s the almost festival like vibes of the Mills market. Today I got to sample Kai Kai BBQ, and yum! Whent with 2 proteins because its so hard to pick. The crispy pork belly was so amazing! Just the right amount of fat and crisp and cooked to perfection. The soy sauce chicken had a very aromatic seasoning light but flavorful. Even the green stuff was great! It came with 2 sauces not needed but good for a little twist to the flavor, one I think was eel sauce (no eel included and the other one tasted mostly like green onions. There was a hefty portion of delicious fried rice (5$ upcharge )under the protein. The rice had a peanut flavor to it, it was light and aromatic, very delicious. Worth the upcharge?... I'll let you decide. Service was fast and friendly place was packed and things moving fast but the staf was personable and attentive and even popped a joke in our short interaction. Like all the other places in Mills Market, Kai Kai has earned a spot in Orlando's food scene. Now the tough part is deciding what to eat next time because it all looks and is soooo good!
The duck was absolutely delicious even reheated the next day. This was one of the stalls that we checked out in the Mills market. The best way to go about this is to divide and conquer, send one person to one stall and another to another stall since most of these stalls aren't just grabbing and go. That way you can get your food all at once. I got half a roast duck and my husband got shrimp dumplings and steamed pork buns. He forgot he likes baked pork buns more than steamed so take this with a grain of salt, but he found the steamed ones to be too doughy for his liking. He said the shrimp dumplings were great. I absolutely love the roast duck. It had a great taste and is also the right level of fattiness for me. We brought it home and I ate it the next day and the day after, and it was still delicious reheated. Since it is in Mills market, it might be difficult to find a table and parking can be rough. I suggest parking a couple blocks away and walking and having the back up plan of grabbing the food to go. Or just go on an off hour so you don't have to deal with the crowds. We got lucky when we got there at 11:30 on a Sunday. There was no line, but by the time we left at 12:30 there was a line for this stall.
I always have to stop at Kai Kai when I visit Mills Market. They always have a line, and it's for good reason (plus the line always goes quickly!) I am obsessed with the Crispy Pork rice box with Hainan Garlic Rice - it's so fresh, juicy, garlicky, salty, and just the ultimate savory bite every time. Even the bok choy has an amazing flavor. I also tried the Roast Duck (also juicy and flavorful, but beware of bones) and the BBQ Bao (pillowy soft and sweet). The staff is friendly and extremely efficient during a busy lunch or dinner rush. I will be coming back over and over for Kai Kai, both to try new things and to revisit my tried-and-true!
Kai Kai was delicious. I heard that they are on the Michelin guide and after trying the crispy pork, duck, and char siu... yeah, I get it. I had to get a little sampler moment going because choosing just one meat was too difficult. We're here to make informed decisions . Everything came sliced over rice with the sauces on the side, which I actually loved because I could taste each meat on its own before getting a little sauce situation going. The crispy pork was crispy where it needed to be and juicy where it counts. The duck was rich and flavorful with glazed skin, and the char siu had that sweet and charred vibe going on. There was a lot happening in one plate, but the presentation allowed me to take my time and understand what was in front of me . More mills reviews coming soon. read more
We came with our family on Sunday and mills50 was slammed! No booster seats or high chairs so my toddler sat on my lap (next time I would bring a travel booster) Kai Kai is Michelin guide and for good reason. The bbq is delicious and authentic and just as good as bbq in china. Tried a variety including duck, bbq pork, scallion pancake, cucumber salad, dumplings and turnip cake and bok choy, with fried rice. Every single dish was great and I would definitely come back read more
Overall, I really enjoyed the filling of the steamed pork dumplings! I personally could have done without the spicy sauce, as it tasted more like a gochujang-style sauce, which gave the dumplings more of a Korean flavor than I was expecting from a Chinese dumpling spot. I also tried the duck, which was pretty good, although a little salty for my taste. My biggest disappointment was the portion size. The container had a lot of rice and bok choy compared to the amount of meat, and I would have liked a more generous portion of the main protein. read more

Came here sometime last year when they first opened. They are def more organized. The long lines are gone so ordering is easier. Waiting for my food did still take time, but when it came it still was so good. I forgot about the wait. More organized seating at this multi food Asian food vendor food hall. We def like it much better. There's a parking lot in the back and it fills up but def be patient bc the parking will be close by and free. Theres also restrooms inside here too closer to the door where the parking lot is read more

Finally gave them a try. My go to, uni girl was closed when I arrived, so I decided to try this popular spot. I got the BBQ chicken plate with egg fried rice. The chicken was Char shu style, which was sweet. I didn't really care for it, but I can see why it's popular. The plate came with rice (I upgraded for fried rice) and baby bok choy. The plate was ok, but not worth the price in my opinion. I would go back to try the dumplings, but the rest of the menu doesn't seem right for me. read more
Very very very delicious. I think Mills Market is more of a lunch spot because we've come here twice around 7 and it seems that we're late and everything else is sold out - next time we're coming for lunch. That being said, Kai Kai was not sold out. They made the shrimp dumplings fresh and they were SO GOOD. The flavor of the pork and rice (omg the garlic rice.. yum) was good, but the platter was room temp/cold. You could tell it had been ready and sitting for quite some time. Still delicious and I would come back to have it again, but like I said - I think it needs to be during lunch. read more

This place is worth the hype!!! The char siu pork is amazing, delicious, and perfect! The serving is generous, and I do think the prices are very fair. I would be a patron way more often if this wasn't located inside Mills Market. I only go during the day on weekdays because it is always packed in there. As lively as it is, it is extremely overstimulating at times. Kai Kai always has the longest line, and I now understand why!! read more
Pleasantly surprised by this stall in Mills Market. I'm not often impressed by food hall vendors but Kai Kai blew me away. Their BBQ meats were all super good. The crispy pork was delicious with crunchy skin and tender meat attached. The roasted duck was a little fatty and our pieces were more skin than meat. The seasoning was on the salty side. The char siu was thick and marinated very well. Good balance of sweet and savory. The platter came with plenty of rice and a hearty side of bok choy. The two sauces are great compliments for the meats. We also shared an order of the steamed duck buns. They were fluffy and sweet with juicy duck meat inside. It was delightful. There's a lot more food to try at Kai Kai and they do catering too. read more

Fast and so delicious. Had the best strawberry kalamansi juice and the lucky three--crispy pork, roasted duck, and char siu with garlic bok choy and steamed rice. The crispy pork was probably one of the best I've had--seasoned so well, very juicy and tender pork, with really crunchy skin. Roasted duck was tender, juicy, and also full of flavor. I just wish the skin was crispy but it was still very good. Char siu was a flavor bomb-- loved it. This was a generous portion that could easily feed two, maybe three if your small eaters. Great deal and fast. Would definitely come back to try more! read more

Shumai was juicy. Love the flavor of the rice in the chicken and rice with bok choy. Crispy pork was good, but skin could use a TEENSY more salt or flavoring. (We got it delivered) read more
We got the roasted duck, pork and bbq pork. I thought the service was okay, they got the order wrong and was not very nice when we asked to fix it. We also waited extra long for the correct order. The roast pork was wayyy too fatty, and the skin was not crispy at all! It was more like a chewy texture. The bbq pork was definitely a little better but very sweet. They also don't have water/ water cups, so definitely bring your own of buy it. Overall this is a spot for a quick to go bite but the dining area was okay. Some people never clean up after themselves a there aren't many clean tables to utilize in such a high traffic area. The bathrooms aren't clean and the lines are long. read more
Tucked in the Mills Market store, alongside several other restaurants, Kai Kai has a casual, food-hall atmosphere. Seating is limited, and it can feel crowded during the day. On our visit about 30 minutes before closing we ordered the roast duck 2/5, crispy pork 4/5,and char siu pork 3/5, served with rice and bok choy. The duck was the most disappointing of the trio. Overly oily, with mostly bone and very little meat. My son couldn't enjoy it at all and ended up discarding it. The char siu pork was a better portion but I couldn't taste the signature sweet glaze that it's known for. Still, I found it a bit too dry and chewy for my taste; all the dishes did come with a standard hoisin dipping sauce, but I'm a huge fan of the meat being cooked flavored without the need for sauces to mask the flavor. The crispy pork offered the most promise, with the expected crunchy skin, but overall the meal left me wishing for more tenderness in the meat and a more generous use of sauce to tie everything together. Given the Michelin recommendation, expectations were high. In this case, the experience fell short. Perhaps the late-night timing contributed, but based on what I tasted, I would not place Kai Kai among Orlando's standout dining destinations. read more
There was a small line that moved pretty quickly. This is in the Mills Asian Market. The staff was friendly and answered the few questions that we did have. We ordered some of the different dim sum options and were very pleasantly surprised with how flavorful all of the food items were. They all came out hot and fresh as well. The thai tea I had was also delicious and well made. We were able to grab a table in the food hall and enjoy our items. The 2 of us shared 4 items and we were full after we were done those items. read more

I've been to Kai Kai three times now, and while it can be a little hit or miss, it always hits the spot and brings me back to my childhood. The star of the show here is the Pick 2/3 Rice Box. You get rice, bok choy, and your choice of two or three meats: crispy roast pork, roast duck, soy sauce chicken or char siu. * Char Siu (BBQ Pork): The first time I tried it, it was dry and tough. But my nephew ordered it recently and it looked juicy and fatty, so I stole a bite... and it was delicious! If they can keep that level of quality consistent, this would be a must-order. * Roast Pork: My personal favorite. Five-spice marinated pork belly roasted until the skin is (usually) crunchy and the meat is still juicy and packed with flavor. Occasionally you'll catch a piece that sat out a bit too long, but the marinade and seasoning are spot on. * Roast Duck: My wife and I both love Cantonese roast duck, so this is often my second pick. For those new to it, just know: it comes on the bone (so you'll be working around those), it's more glossy and smooth than the shatter-crisp skin of Peking duck, and it's all about that soy-based dipping sauce. Seriously, don't skip the sauce, it takes the duck from "good" to "can I order another box?" Usually they'll give what looks like a thicker dark sauce that is probably hoisin, but the duck one is more liquidy and is usually made with the drippings of the duck! I've had some roast duck with pretty crunchy skin but usually at less busy places so I'm thinking that may be why theirs isn't crispy because they've probably got a bunch in the back waiting to be rotated in. They're cranking out a LOT of meat here, and the line is almost always busy, which says something. Even when it's not perfect, I keep coming back because that rice box combo just hits the nostalgia button every time. Kai Kai isn't fancy, it's comfort food. When they're on their game it's a staple for sure. read more
I really enjoyed the pan fried pork dumplings. They are made to order. The filling was delicious and the dumplings themselves were very crispy. You place your good order at their counter and when it's ready you can pick it up from their quick serve counter. There are various tables around the market to sit at. read more

Pros: Location is perfect. In a food hall in the middle of Mills. Couldn't ask for a better location. The staff was very nice and helped us figure out what the best things to order would be. Food was delicious. Fluffy pork buns stuffed with pork, huge shumai, probably the biggest ones I've had! And Szechuan wings that were very crispy and juicy and flavored well, but without the spice. So good. Cons: No real cons. The prices are high, and I'm not sure if the quality is that much higher than average. But that's how it goes. Tips: Get the wings! Surprisingly good wings. read more

Omg guys!!!! The hype is so real for this spot! I went on the Saturday after 4th of july weekend & it was shoulder to shoulder packed in there. Unsure if its typically that packed, or just the circumstances. The line actually went really fast & i got my food quickly. Tables are stand, high top, sit, & communal. They overturned quickly, so i got a standing with a napkin dispenser. The building was very hot & my entire party was sweating. The only downfall. Now for the food... im drooling. They make everything including their noodles from scratch. The steamed pork dumplings were beyond. It came in a sauce, loaded with moist juicy filling, & the dumpling held its weight without getting soggy in the delicious sauce. Lo meins typically give me an allergic reaction, so i was cautious trying, but this didn't even give me a headache. It was robust with flavor & tasted so fresh. My other favorite was the chicken congee. It tasted almost vibrant with fruit acidity. It was shocking the layering flavors. Mmmm i cant wait to go back. read more
Kai Kai BBQ was a hit besides one aspect. When we walked into Mills Market we saw Kai Kai was crowded and we understood why. Though the one turn off was how the guy at the counter was a tad rude and almost uninterested in taking our order. Which can be understandable, given how busy they were. He just had a small attitude and kept looking away from us with almost a dirty look as if we just stepped on his toe or something. However, the food was absolutely delicious and we loved every bite. We got the 3 meat combo of Sausage, Duck, and Honey Chicken. It came with a heavy heaping of rice. The combo was about $20 so that's not too bad in my opinion. Would definitely come back for the food. read more
Came to the Mills Market for a hodgepodge lunch put together with food from a few different places. One of those places was Kai Kai. They have a pretty prominent storefront with a some beautiful ducks and meat hanging by the hooks in the glass case. Really cool. Service was good. There was a huge line, but it went pretty quickly. We got the steamed fluffy buns with the BBQ pork inside. These were good. Fluffy, moist, and filled with delicious pork inside. The filling was a little skimpy, compared to other fluffy pork buns I've encountered, but gotta protect the profit margin, I get it. They were still delicious. Next, I went for the classic Siu Mai (pork & shrimp). These were probably the best version of these I've had in a very long time. No ingredient skimping here. Large, plump siu mai with good texture and good seasoning. If you want classic dim sum, these are the ones. Ended with the Spicy Sichuan Wings. Wow! These were delicious. Very crispy, very juicy, packed full of flavor. There's no spicy here, so don't be afraid. I was a little bummed out at the lack of spice, so spicy hunters, avoid this. Everyone else, get these. Overall, this place was very good. A nice, concise menu full of varied items that compliment the other restaurants in the building. Lovely. I will be back. read more

Been here a few times, it's located inside of Mills Market. It is such a fun little market with multiple shops inside. Parking can be a little tough, there is a parking lot out back as well as some street parking along the main road. They have entrances on both sides. Snagging a table can be a bit difficult too sometimes if it is busy. There is usual some free standing high tops always free though. The decor inside is cute with lights and such strewn above. The baos are really good. My all time favorite are their dumplings, they are a must get every time. Tonight I also got the vegetable lo mein to try, it was solid. If you're in the area and looking for a good Asian Market to try, you should swing by and check this one out. read more
