I really enjoyed coming to this restaurant, which is a fusion between HK cafe and Thai ; two of my favourite cuisines! We ordered the Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Thai iced tea. It was so delicious and prepared well! I liked how the green curry was very filling with lots of chicken and potato pieces. The sauce was also very flavourful. The interior is decorated well, with many HK cafe elements. Service is friendly. They also have an assortment of Chinese/Thai desserts like mango pomelo or mango sticky rice. Location/Service This place is right in the heart of Chinatown on Spadina - so very accessible by TTC and plenty of public parking around the block and near Kensington Market. Interior has a very Thailand feel to it - with its bright neon lights, a little bit of a tropical flavour but also blending in a lot of Hong Kong photos and decorations. Staff were nice and friendly and food came in a pretty fast manner. Food This place is a fusion spot that blends Thai style cooking with staple HK cafe dishes - so it's good to try a few things. The Seafood Instant Noodle was presented very nicely - it's a Tom Yum style so the sauce has a spicy kick to it when you pour it all over the seafood and noodles. A really flavourful dish. Good amounts of seafood from squid, mussel and shrimps - perfect to share. Leng Saap (spicy pork bone soup) was a spicer - but it's my go-to Thai appetizer dish that's flavourful and with the meat that just falls off instantly. Thai Coconut Chicken Hot Pot has a fusion of HK cafe fish balls but blending Thai coconut flavours that warming and comforting. Good portion of chicken was there and it was very soft and bouncy to eat. I recently visited this popular Thai fusion + HK Cafe spot and tried some of their new items. As always, the staff here are welcoming. The restaurant has a chill vibe and most people you see are students getting comfort food at a great price. I love the food here and tried the Pork Belly appetizer, Thai style stir fried beef with rice, Pineapple Freeze drink that's refreshing and I also had their Mango Sticky Rice with Ice Cream which is my forever favourite. They have clean washrooms downstairs. For transportation, take the TTC if possible coz it's located downtown, and parking can be hard to find. read more

We came to Yeah Yeah Thai for a late dinner and it was a lively spot. I like the neon lights and the tropical theme of the space. Service was fast and speedy in line with typical HK cafe experiences. The food itself was hit and miss. I didn't like the curry as it came with a layer of greasy oil on top and the rotis were under cooked and anemic. We got the fried shrimp as an appetizer and I had the Tom Yum Risotto while my friend had the Laksa Style Seafood Noodle. The shrimps were super crunchy and came with a sweet chilli sauce, but the flavour was nothing special. The risotto was heavenly - creamy, tangy with a bit of a kick, and the sauce coated all the seafood, packing a punch. My friend also enjoyed her noodle dish and portions were quite generous. Trendy Thai / Hong Kong fusion restaurant offering great soup dishes (plus other dishes) and amazing desserts in Toronto's Chinatown. I got the Bangkok Deluxe Pho ($17), which had fish balls, pork, minced meat, bean sprouts, and crispy shallots within the broth. There was a decent amount of meat and each ingredient tasted fairly fresh and well made. I thought the broth could have been a bit more flavorful though. Not sure if this was the best pho I've had but solid nonetheless. I also tried the House Deluxe Tom Yum Soup with Instant Noodle ($18). This came with Vietnamese sausage, shrimp, fish balls, a fried egg, and bean puffs. This one was definitely on the spicier side and flavorful. If you like spicy noodle soups, you will probably like this. The best part of the meal though was the dessert. We got the Taro Ice Cream Pineapple Bun ($9), which was incredible! The large scoop of ice cream had a truly delicious and fresh taro flavor, along with a nice creamy consistency. The pineapple bun was exactly how you'd want it - soft, not too sweet, great pineapple flavor. The combo of these two made for the perfect dessert. The restaurant itself is also very cool, with hip colorful neon lights and green (although fake) plants lining the wall. It makes you feel like you're in a trendy spot in Southeast Asia. There isn't a ton of seating, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a weekend night. The staff are friendly and the service speed is super fast. Overall, I would give Yeah Yeah Thai 4.5 stars if I could. The soup / pho were solid albeit not particularly outstanding, although the dessert certainly was. Finally had the chance to try this place out with friends. We came here on a week day for dinner and the wait was around 30 mins which was fine as it gave us some time to explore Kensington market. The place is small so it's best to come early to avoid a long wait but once we were seated there was countless options to choose on the menu. I got their satay beef on rice which was something I usually go for. Beef was tender, sauce was delicious the only downside was the rice seemed a bit warm and not piping hot. Filling and simple to enjoy however, dessert on the other end was a bit disappointing to eat. I got the mango sticky rice and some parts of the rice was hard and unpleasant to eat. We had dinner on 2023-04-23. All their food is fresh, including any spices (eg, basil leaf) they use. The food came out hot, especially any sizzling plates. We ordered the following: Shrimp Chips (complimentary). C03: Condensed Milk Roti ($6.99). E03: Tom Yum Style Seafood on Instant Noodle ($16.99). K05: Fried Pork Chop & Sausage ($19.99) with Rice (+$1.99). T06: Coconut Ice Cream Bowl ($9.99). 2 coconut ice cream balls, fresh mango cubes, biscuit crumbs. They seem to be full the entire time we were there, 18:10 to 20:00. They don't take reservations so we were lucky there was one table empty when we arrived. The Shrimp Chips were spot on. The Condensed Milk Roti was delicious, especially with the chopped peanuts. The Tom Yum Seafood was interesting. Instead of you typical soup, the seafood (3 shrimps in shell, 3 calamari rings, and 3 mussels in shell) were on a plate and cup, spread over instant noodles. It comes with Tom Yum sauce that you would pour over everything. The Tom Yum is Thai and the instant noodles is Hong Kong cuisine. The presentation was interesting. The food was good but I found the calamari a little more chewy than I'm used to. The Fried Pork Chop was definitely sizzling when it came out. There is a Thai Green Curry you can pour over the meat. It comes with a large bowl-sized rice with a fried egg sunny-side up in the sizzling plate. There are also corn, tomato slices, and broccoli. This sizzling plate is Hong Kong cuisine and the sauce is Thai flavouring. Everything was just right. The two Thai Iced Milk Teas were great. I prefer the Red Tea, which is sweeter. They come in an interesting glass tall cup. The Coconut Ice Cream Bowl (I love ice cream) had a sugar cone on top of one of the ice cream bowls. The mango was fresh. The coconut ice cream had a strange taste but my wife found nothing wrong with it. I have to admit I usually don't order coconut ice cream. The Deep Fried Banana comes with Condensed Milk that you can pour on top on the 3 pieces. The deep fried banana was good. It's interesting that their bill is written in English and Chinese. They give 10% if you pay by cash. I would write more except I now have a food coma after eating so much! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Mar. 2024 Yeah Yeah Thai is a medium sized store with some tables and seating, if it gets busy, I can see having to wait for some time. It's decor is bright and hip with fun neon signs behind the order counter and the place makes the most of its windows letting natural light in. This is a great place for a lunch/brunch with its fusion in HK Style food and thai cuisine. The staff is accommodating and if its not on the menu/combo, they can usually still make it happen. Would totally come again to try all the different Combo options! Order: - Make It a Combo! - Rice Combo (substituted for the Cheese Baked Rice) - J01 Thai Iced Milk Red Tea - L03 Baked Cheese with Thai Green Curry with Pork - T08 Deep Fried Coconut Lava (with lots of condensed milk) I highly recommend getting the "make-it-a-combo" option (for an extra $5.99) for your meal, you get a choice of mini hot pot, noodle, rice, sizzling plate, or stir-fried as the entree (base price) from essentially the whole menu (just ask if it isn't). PLUS! A dessert item and drink. They did run out of the Thai Iced Milk Green Tea (probably cause it's popular), but settling for the Red Tea was good. It was on the sweeter and milky-er side of Thai Iced Teas and enjoyable. The staff was able to combo the Cheese Bake without a fuss and it was exactly as described, HK style cheese fried rice casserole but instead of fried rice, it is Green Thai Chili, with your choice of extra protein/veggie. The flavours didn't clash at all! I will be trying this at home in the future with any thai leftovers (aka. just add cheese, a protein, and bake it). I went out here with my friends and got the laksa today and it was spicy but delicious. They take traditional dishes and add their creativity on them. I enjoyed the large portions of seafood in my bowl! As for the service, the waitresses were very friendly. They brought our orders in a timely manner and helped us out with the order system. It's cool that the order system is all online (even when ordering your own food). However, one peculiar thing I had in mind was why the payment system was separate, as in after we finished our meal. I mean, they could have input the payment system on the online menu if they had already put in place an online submission method of ordering. Was very impressed with the tasty and unique takes on both HK cafe and Thai food. It's not a common mix for fusion and was interesting to try out. To start off, the vibes and ambiance were great, with lots of mini neon sign decorations that gave the vibe of a street in Hong Kong or Bangkok. Service was also super friendly and attentive. The menu is expansive, ranging from rice and noodle dishes to hot pot. Some items lean more HK and others lean more Thai. I ordered a cheesy red curry chicken cutlet baked rice, this dish is classic HK cafe fare, but the red curry Thai twist was spot on. It was super tasty and filling. Pricing is more on the expensive side compared to other HK cafes uptown, but decent for downtown. This is a newcomer to Spadina, and I had a refreshing experience eating at Yeah Yeah Thai. Disclaimer I've never been to Thailand and I can't say I've had authentic Thai street food at all. Food: prices are approximates - shrimp chips were yum and crispy and the portion is large ($3.99) - coconut mini hot pot ($20) was savoury but does not stand-out - pineapple chicken fried rice ($15) was on the sweet end for us. There were a few chunks of pineapple inside and the pineapple flavour was definitely there. I liked that the eggs weren't slivery? Is that a word? Then, a few of us checked into Yelp and got complimentary Thai iced teas. Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of it as it tasted very sweet and watery and lacked tea flavour. We ordered their green mango salad, and it was good, but I wish the mangoes were more green as it was missing the nice crunch. We also tried their chicken pad Thai, which came with lots of chicken but lacked flavour. Lastly, we ordered their Thai coconut chicken hot pot. The broth was lovely, but there wasn't much to it, and you need to order rice on the side to make it a meal. Of course, the husband saw this on Instagram and said "hey! There's a fusion cha Chan teng (HK style cafe) on Spadina!" and that was enough for us to give it a try. As usual, I had to get our true litmus test - the baked tomato pork chop on rice (which isn't on the menu but we asked bc we saw a picture of it on Yelp) and the hubs ordered the green curry with chicken. Service was nice - the waitress was attentive and kind; despite being the only one really waiting on the tables - about 5 others plus us. She made sure we had everything we needed and when we noticed the Yelp check in - for a free milk tea - she didn't hesitate at all. The food came hot and quite delicious. We're a bit of snobs for the baked pork chop but the sauce was flavourful and yummy. My husband's was also yummy and he quite enjoyed it. The milk iced tea was sweeter than we preferred (we don't usually add sugar to anything) but we were fine with continually diluting with water. We don't get to head out as often as we used to (children) but even if we could, we're noticing how much more things are costing nowadays! All to say, when we have a chance, we wouldn't mind trying more things on their menu! read more

Amazing place in Chinatown with Thai HK fusion. Once you walk into the place, it feels like your typical HK cafe with the bright lights and the colorful tables. The place is a bit small, but still had enough seats and quick turnaround. The menu is quite extensive and all the ordering is done through your phone. It can be a bit overwhelming at first with the amount of choices you have, but with a bigger group we were luckily able to try a lot more things from the menu. Everything came out pretty quickly and service was top notch. Our table had ordered Shrimp Chips (seems to be one of the more popular orders across all the tables), Thai Red Curry Beef Roti, Thai Charcoal Grilled Pork Neck Rice, Thai Basil Chili Minced Pork Rice, Bangkok Deluxe Pho, HK Style Curry Chicken Pad Thai, and the Baked Cheese HK Style Curry. I was intrigued when I first heard about this Thai fushion HK style cafe and just had to try it with hubby. Came to visit on a Friday afternoon for lunch and the place was half occupied. We were promptly seated once we walked. Love the cool electric vibe and the interior decor. We ordered the Tom yum house instant noodles, Tom yum seafood risotto and shrimp chips. The shrimps chips are crispy and flavourful but it doesn't come with a dipping sauce like Sukho Thai's come with. The risotto was so delicious! Exactly how I imagined and wanted it to be, creamy, lots of seafoods, flavourful, a slight kick of the Tom yum but not too overpowering and the risotto soaked all these flavours in. AMAZING SPOT! The food was so so deliciousss!. The decor was really great too! It's been awhile since I've been so impressed by a restaurant and every dish they brought out was so yummy! You guys need to check this spot out . Their pineapple bun was super yummy I had the prawn cutlet one but the taro ice cream one was my favourite !!
