Super oily curry with undercooked roti
Cin C.

We came to Yeah Yeah Thai for a late dinner and it was a lively spot. I like the neon lights and the tropical theme of the space. Service was fast and speedy in line with typical HK cafe experiences. The food itself was hit and miss. I didn't like the curry as it came with a layer of greasy oil on top and the rotis were under cooked and anemic. However, the icecream pineapple bun was delicious and very well made. I guess one good and one bad cancels out each other to be just okay.

The restaurant offers a QR code menu at every table for you to order from with servers available to answer your questions. We got the fried shrimp as an appetizer and I had the Tom Yum Risotto while my friend had the Laksa Style Seafood Noodle. The shrimps were super crunchy and came with a sweet chilli sauce, but the flavour was nothing special. The risotto was heavenly - creamy, tangy with a bit of a kick, and the sauce coated all the seafood, packing a punch. My friend also enjoyed her noodle dish and portions were quite generous. I would like to return and try some of their other menu items which include individual thai hot pots, curry rice, stir-fry dishes, roti, sizzling plates, and cheese-baked rice/spaghetti.

Taro Ice Cream Pineapple Bun

Trendy Thai / Hong Kong fusion restaurant offering great soup dishes (plus other dishes) and amazing desserts in Toronto's Chinatown. I got the Bangkok Deluxe Pho ($17), which had fish balls, pork, minced meat, bean sprouts, and crispy shallots within the broth. There was a decent amount of meat and each ingredient tasted fairly fresh and well made. I thought the broth could have been a bit more flavorful though. Not sure if this was the best pho I've had but solid nonetheless. I also tried the House Deluxe Tom Yum Soup with Instant Noodle ($18). This came with Vietnamese sausage, shrimp, fish balls, a fried egg, and bean puffs. This one was definitely on the spicier side and flavorful. If you like spicy noodle soups, you will probably like this. The best part of the meal though was the dessert. We got the Taro Ice Cream Pineapple Bun ($9), which was incredible! The large scoop of ice cream had a truly delicious and fresh taro flavor, along with a nice creamy consistency. The pineapple bun was exactly how you'd want it - soft, not too sweet, great pineapple flavor. The combo of these two made for the perfect dessert. The restaurant itself is also very cool, with hip colorful neon lights and green (although fake) plants lining the wall. It makes you feel like you're in a trendy spot in Southeast Asia. There isn't a ton of seating, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table on a weekend night. The staff are friendly and the service speed is super fast. Overall, I would give Yeah Yeah Thai 4.5 stars if I could. The soup / pho were solid albeit not particularly outstanding, although the dessert certainly was. Coupled with the nice decor, this is a great all-around option if you are looking for Asian food in Toronto.

Vibrant decors, amazing service, and affordable delicious food! What more can you ask more? My friends and I went here for dinner and each dish was big and tasty - my favourite was the padthai, the Tom yum soup, and the seafood hotpot! The pad Thai had a hint of curry, full on Tom yum flavour for the soup and the hotpot was not only massive but flavourful as well! I definitely would come back

Tom yum seafood risotto, beef with rice

Came here on a weekday night, wasn't too busy. This place is an interesting Thai-HK cafe fusion which I was super excited to try. The decor was cute and vibrant. We got two combos which I felt was a pretty good deal where you get an appetizer, main and drink. We got the beef rice and tom yum seafood risotto, with spring rolls, coconut lava ball and Thai milk tea. My favourite was the tom yum seafood risotto and coconut lava balls - they were so delicious! Thai milk tea was also pretty solid, and came in the coolest glasses.

Satay beef and scrambled eggs on rice

Fun vibe, pretty good food, extensive menu, reasonable prices, and an amazingly fast kitchen and service. Stopped by Yeah Yeah for late lunch and got: - Satay Beef and Scrambled Eggs on Rice: Great portion size. The beef was tender and tasty. - Tom Yum Seafood Risotto: Strong tom yum taste (yum!), good amount of cheese, pretty good seafood portions (mussels, shrimps). - Charcoal Grilled Pork Neck: Pretty good grill, ok quality pork. Generous on the lettuce. - Signature Cinnamon Iced Coffee and Ovaltine Sago: Both refreshing, though would have liked a stronger ovaltine taste. Yeah, I can see why people are loving Yeah Yeah. A worthwhile stop.

Finally had the chance to try this place out with friends. We came here on a week day for dinner and the wait was around 30 mins which was fine as it gave us some time to explore Kensington market. The place is small so it's best to come early to avoid a long wait but once we were seated there was countless options to choose on the menu. I got their satay beef on rice which was something I usually go for. Beef was tender, sauce was delicious the only downside was the rice seemed a bit warm and not piping hot. Filling and simple to enjoy however, dessert on the other end was a bit disappointing to eat. I got the mango sticky rice and some parts of the rice was hard and unpleasant to eat. Staff were friendly, ambiance was fairly loud but that was fine as we weren't there for long. Would come back to give this place another try.

Yeah Yeah Thai is a Hong Kong style cuisine mixed with Thai cuisine. They are in the Spadina St Chinatown and are still in their soft opening period, starting on 2023-04-19. We had dinner on 2023-04-23. All their food is fresh, including any spices (eg, basil leaf) they use. The food came out hot, especially any sizzling plates. We ordered the following: Shrimp Chips (complimentary). C03: Condensed Milk Roti ($6.99). E03: Tom Yum Style Seafood on Instant Noodle ($16.99). K05: Fried Pork Chop & Sausage ($19.99) with Rice (+$1.99). T06: Coconut Ice Cream Bowl ($9.99). 2 coconut ice cream balls, fresh mango cubes, biscuit crumbs. T02: Deep Fried Banana with Condensed Milk ($9.99). J01: Thai Iced Milk Red Tea ($4.99). J02: Thai Iced Milk Green Tea ($4.99). The service was excellent. They seem to be full the entire time we were there, 18:10 to 20:00. They don't take reservations so we were lucky there was one table empty when we arrived. The Shrimp Chips were spot on. The Condensed Milk Roti was delicious, especially with the chopped peanuts. The Tom Yum Seafood was interesting. Instead of you typical soup, the seafood (3 shrimps in shell, 3 calamari rings, and 3 mussels in shell) were on a plate and cup, spread over instant noodles. It comes with Tom Yum sauce that you would pour over everything. The Tom Yum is Thai and the instant noodles is Hong Kong cuisine. The presentation was interesting. The food was good but I found the calamari a little more chewy than I'm used to. The Fried Pork Chop was definitely sizzling when it came out. There is a Thai Green Curry you can pour over the meat. It comes with a large bowl-sized rice with a fried egg sunny-side up in the sizzling plate. There are also corn, tomato slices, and broccoli. This sizzling plate is Hong Kong cuisine and the sauce is Thai flavouring. Everything was just right. The two Thai Iced Milk Teas were great. I prefer the Red Tea, which is sweeter. They come in an interesting glass tall cup. The Coconut Ice Cream Bowl (I love ice cream) had a sugar cone on top of one of the ice cream bowls. The mango was fresh. The coconut ice cream had a strange taste but my wife found nothing wrong with it. I have to admit I usually don't order coconut ice cream. The Deep Fried Banana comes with Condensed Milk that you can pour on top on the 3 pieces. The deep fried banana was good. It's interesting that their bill is written in English and Chinese. They give 10% if you pay by cash. I would write more except I now have a food coma after eating so much! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-096

Red curry rice with Beef baked cheese
Jessica C.

Got the Baked cheese red curry rice with beef. So delicious with a punch of flavour. Big portions, quick service.

The chicken pad Thai was decent; definitely had better. Good addition to Chinatown. $8.99 is gross to charge for a coors light or Heineken. With tip closer to $40.... Priced me out for multiple return visits.

Green curry rice with chicken cutlet

A casual 3.5* - it's not terrible, not great, really just OK. The decor is vibrant, fun and makes the atmosphere. Marketed as a casual Thai Fusion HK Cafe, Yeah Yeah Thai is exactly that. I came by with some friends on a Sunday night and although it was busy, they were able to seat the 6 of us right away. It took some shuffling, so I appreciate the staff for that! Across the group, orders consisted a few of: - Chicken Pad Thai - Thai Green Curry with Rice and Chicken Cutlet - Thai Green Curry with Rice and Tofu - Deep Fried Spring Roll - Baked Cheese with Thai Red Curry on Rice - Mango Sticky Rice with Sago - Roti - Thai Iced Red Milk Tea - Salted Kumquat with Sprite Everything was OK for what it was; The dishes definitely lean more fusion than authentic Thai. I wasn't a big fan of the green curry (it was too mild and far from authentic for my liking) and the chicken cutlet was bland. Portions are pretty big. It didn't look like a lot because of the way it comes presented but we were all stuffed and could barely get dessert in. We had some hiccups with a few orders but the staff sorted it out quickly and the kitchen was even quicker! Although not a fav and I'd say it is a little overhyped, it is still a great place to dine with friends, especially with their extensive menu. My group found it quite enjoyable and I'm sure we'll be back. Don't forget to check in for your free Thai Iced Red Milk Tea Yelp offer (as of October 2023)!

This place is pretty cool overall friendly staff great location in Chinatown and a decent bit of seating for dining in. The food was just okay nothing too special if I'm being honest and on the more bland side overall. Probably wouldn't go out of my way back again but everybody was very nice!

Finally tried the trending Otlvatine condensed milk French Toast I really like how @yeahyeahthai combine Thai and Hong Kong flavors and their innovative dishes Everything was great, especially the Leng saap (pork rib soup) which was succulent and nicely seasoned. Their soup wasn't the typical Thai type where you add a lot of strong spices together, instead it was rather soothing. Another must try is their signature cinnamon coffee (It has a thick layer of cheese cream topped with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon powder). Their salted kamkuat drink also reminds me of home

I'm not a bad carb person so I can barely make a dent in their rice/noodle dishes for lunch. So I was happy to see non-rice/noodles based dishes that is served all day and not just tea time. I ordered the yuzu chicken steak with potato salad. It comes with a drink and soup. The chicken steak was deep fried, with liminal batter and the met remains juicy. The yuzu sauce was spread on top. First time seeing chicken + yuzu at a cha cheng teng. What took me by surprised was the potato salad. It was definitely made in house, with chunks of apples, carrots, red onion, ham and eggs. Love how it was also not dose in miracle whip. I chose the Chinese soup (instead of western style) and it was flavorful. I would said better than most Chinese restaurants who gives for complimentary soup for dinner. There was minimal MSG, as I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The HK milk tea was the weaker component of this set, the tea base was lacking in flavour and didnt have the "thick" texture to it.

Excited for another Pine House location!…read more The menu is approximately $1 more than the other locations, and the portions are slightly smaller as well. The taste of the food is pretty much spot on to the other locations, and very classic cha chaan teng foods. Service here is really good actually! They are super attentive and are sure to repeat your order so they have it right. They come to refill your water quickly and often as well. The place isn't very busy most of the time, so it's usually pretty easy to get a seat.

We ordered a 'small' congee and genuinely thought they'd brought us a large by mistake; it was easily enough to feed a family of 4 or 5. The pumpkin congee was a standout--perfectly savory with a subtle hint of sweetness. It's easily one of my new favorites. We also tried the beef stir-fry with rice noodle rolls, which was incredibly aromatic and delicious. To finish, the coconut pudding was the perfect end to the meal--sweet, but not overly so. The staff was friendly, and despite how busy they were, the service was impressively fast. Highly recommend!

We ordered what we thought was a regular-sized soup to share, plus a couple of main course dishes. When the soup arrived, we both just looked at each other like "What the hell?!" - it was enormous! Easily enough for 3-4 people. The portions here are seriously huge, so keep that in mind when ordering. What we thought would be a light meal turned into a very filling feast. The food itself was really good. The soup was flavourful and comforting, and the mains we chose were tasty with generous amounts of meat/veggies and solid seasoning. Everything tasted fresh and properly cooked - definitely above average for downtown Chinese food. Location is super convenient if you're in the Dundas area - easy to get to, right in the heart of downtown. Great spot to hang out, especially if you're hungry and want good value. Just be prepared to either come with an appetite or take leftovers home (we definitely did!). Would happily go back next time we're craving Chinese in the area. Highly recommend! Perfect place for a casual catch-up with friends - just don't underestimate the portion sizes!
