This is a new Hong Kong style cafe. It soft-opened on the Danforth on 2024-04-20. We ordered the following: 1. Set Meal B: Satay Beef Noodles ($9.99). Served with toast, sunny side up eggs, and a drink. 2. Hong Kong Style French Toast with Kaya inside ($4.99). 3. Hong Kong Style Baked Pork Chop Rice ($15.99). This includes a drink. It takes 20-30 mins to be served. The plate it comes in is extremely hot when served. Baked pork chop over rice with tomatoes & cheese. For the two included drinks, we chose cold Ovaltine and hot Hong Kong Milk Tea. The drinks cost $3.99 if ordered separately. In Hong Kong, the Satay Beef is very tender. At this restaurant, they purchase good quality beef, and they don't tenderize it. Usually, restaurants will buy cheap quality beef, so they use some ingredients to tenderize it. The Satay Beef sits in an instant noodle soup. It also comes with toast and two sunny side up eggs. The French Toast comes with a big jar of maple syrup. There is Kaya inside the thick toast. I only got a little piece, but my son ate 90% of it. The Pork Chop and Rice were good. It did have a few pieces of fatty bits, which is normal. The fried rice is fine with a few cherry tomatoes in the sauce. The two drinks were good. The milk tea is strong. There is a small bowl of sugar on the table you can use. The customer service was good. There are tables for indoor seating (there was one table that could seat 6-7) and limited outdoor seating. On a Sun, there is usually a lineup to get a table. There is a bench for three people while waiting. We arrived at 10:45 (they opened at 09:30) and got a table at 11:02. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. There is at least one high chair for little children. Stopped by for lunch on Sammi's opening weekend, and while they're ironing out things, there's promise to this place. We got: - Hong Kong Style Baked Pork Chop Rice: Pork was tender enough, and really liked the tomato and cheese topping. If you get the combo, you get a fresh side salad and tasty mushroom soup. Good value for the portion size. - Black Pepper Braised Beef Short Rib Rice: Beef was pretty tender and tasted well seasoned. Good value for the portion size. - French Toast with Kaya: Would have liked more kaya in the toast as it was a bit overpowered by the bread and butter. A bit pricey for the size. - Pineapple Bun with Butter: Soft and chewy in all the right places. A bit pricey for the size. - Serradura: Milky and delicately and yummy. - Hong Kong Milk Tea: Authentic taste. Space is small but well laid out. Staff is getting used to the crowds, but is pleasant and ernest. Prices (especially for the breakfast sets) are great. Will definitely drop by again to try their breakfast offerings.

Looking for a unique and tasty brunch/lunch option? Sammi's got you covered! The inside was very spacious with bright and minimalist decor, which felt very inviting and a bit of a departure from the traditional HK cafe clutter. They offer a limited menu selection depending on day/time. We had their weekend brunch menu, and got their all day breakfast and baked pork chop rice. I really liked the all day breakfast and the baked pork chop rice was also good, just a bit overbaked. Service was friendly and helpful. It's nice seeing HK cafe culture seeping away from Scarborough and Markham, and I love this addition to the Danforth.

Delicious and authentic. Can't beat the price point of this Hong Kong style cafe. Service was fast especially if you have a small party. Brunch had great special combos to get the full experience of dishes.

The food is decent, not many choices in the menu. I hope the Satay favours can be stronger for the Satay beef noodle, but it is more personal haha. overall, I like this Hong Kong cafe, if you want to try out authentic Hong Kong food, you should check this out!

Small neighborhood HK cafe that exceeded my expectation. Service and food arrived quick and the satay beef really tasted like the ones in HK. $12.99 set includes a choice of hot/cold drink, satay beef instant noodle, ham omelette and toast. I will go back to try other stuff!

I'm so glad this opened up in the neighbourhood because it's adding more diversity (& Asian food) near Greektown. It is a minimalist interior decor. Staff are friendly. It does get crowded and there was a line but was able to get a table for 4 within 15 mins. I saw a lot of small families dined in which was nice to see. The food itself is rather simple and nothing spectacular except for the pineapple bun with a thick slice of delicious salted butter (it's just addictive). But that's not a negative comment. It's simple comfort food. Would like to come back and try the French toast & baked pork chop.

NEW HK cafe on the danforth!!! Yay! Thought I would stop by after the gym for lunch! Its a cute little place along the danforth and jones. The staff were super friendly! I was satisfied with my post workout meal of course! I was very excited to try this place out. Not very common to find a HK cafe in this area. It's literally cute. Not what I was expecting. But I'm going to go back and have the pineapple bun with butter and HK milk tea. If in the area definitely swing by and show them some loooveeee

Ordered Wing Tai Signature Steamed Chicken-$16 - Looks like hainese chicken as there are generous amount of green ginger onion on top of chicken. Not exactly meaty, and texture was alright and it comes with a steam rice and choice of soup or hot beverage. We ended up getting the ham macaroni soup with a cheese ham sandwich combo, along with the O Street signature beef sandwich and fries from their new menu. Despite how busy it was on a Saturday, the food came out at a pretty reasonable speed, which I appreciated. The macaroni soup was just okay, very much the kind of simple comfort food that fills you up, but nothing especially memorable. I was most excited for the signature beef sandwich, but it didn't fully meet my expectations. The burger/sandwich itself was smaller than I imagined, and it only had about 2-3 pieces of beef brisket inside with marinated bell peppers and their homemade sauce. The sauce leaned sweeter than expected, which might work for some people, but personally I was hoping for something more savoury and more generous with the beef. However, the brisket was tender, which was a win... ish. Overall, still a decent spot if you're craving classic HK cafe vibes and variety, especially for a casual meal with family.

We came here for dinner on a Friday and ordered a baked pork chop rice, beef brisket on rice, and Hawaiian mixed grill. Overall the dishes had good flavours and great value for money. While the ingredients weren't the best, it met expectations. The other dishes were excellent and we had a bit if left over to take home. Would come here again when in the area.

I'm not a bad carb person so I can barely make a dent in their rice/noodle dishes for lunch. So I was happy to see non-rice/noodles based dishes that is served all day and not just tea time. I ordered the yuzu chicken steak with potato salad. It comes with a drink and soup. The chicken steak was deep fried, with liminal batter and the met remains juicy. The yuzu sauce was spread on top. First time seeing chicken + yuzu at a cha cheng teng. What took me by surprised was the potato salad. It was definitely made in house, with chunks of apples, carrots, red onion, ham and eggs. Love how it was also not dose in miracle whip. I chose the Chinese soup (instead of western style) and it was flavorful. I would said better than most Chinese restaurants who gives for complimentary soup for dinner. There was minimal MSG, as I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The HK milk tea was the weaker component of this set, the tea base was lacking in flavour and didnt have the "thick" texture to it.

The taste of the food is pretty much spot on to the other locations, and very classic cha chaan teng foods. Service here is really good actually! The place isn't very busy most of the time, so it's usually pretty easy to get a seat.

Really crispy and delicious, they were definitely prepared well and hit the spot. I couldn't have asked for better hashbrowns. The buttermilk biscuits were also really fluffy and tasted good. No complaints here. The Hot Turkey French Toast however... I think they should remove this off the menu. We ordered it because it sounded interesting and we like to think of ourselves as adventurous foodies, but oh wow this was bad! We ate 2 bites each and couldn't eat more. Its just really dense and fatty and the gravy is way too overpowering and the flavors just don't go together. We were starving and hadn't eaten all day and couldn't get ourselves to eat more than 2 bites because we were frankly disgusted. It tasted really bad. DO NOT ORDER THIS. We came for a 2pm lunch on a Tuesday, and they told us the wait would be around 15-20mins which we said was fine. However, we ended up waiting 40mins, and we suspect that they let other people in front of us (told there were 2 parties of 2 in front of us but let in 3 parties). It gave diner vibes but was definitely more cramped. Was busier than I expected on a random Tuesday at 2pm. Low rating is for the awful main and the longer-than-promised wait time. But I do have to give them credit for the tasty apps. We might've just ordered the wrong thing on the menu but we're not coming back to find out, especially if the wait will always be this long.
