They have lots of combo deals for lunch and the portions are huge with amazing flavor. Service is as good as it gets, "Hong Kong style" service where the service style is sharp but efficient. They don't speak a lot of English here, mainly Cantonese so try not to make too many order modifications. The lady with the bob and glasses has been my server during my recent visits and she's always been on top of my order even when she restaurant gets slammed-- and it gets BUSYYY. I'm talking full house at 12pm on the dot and while I've never been for dinner, I'd imagine the same. The restaurant itself is also very small so they have limited seating. My favorite item to order is the 3 meat BBQ rice bowl (on the main menu not the specials), which comes with char siu, bbq chicken, chinese bbq sausage, a salted duck egg, rice, and broccoli. So hearty, generous portions and full of flavor. I just wish they'd peel the egg shell before serving though lol. I've also had their braised brisket soup with egg noodles and that was delicious as well. Not too heavy because the broth is quite light but it was filling and had a generous portion of melt in your mouth beef. Some reviews complained about the BBQ not always being available, but after seeing how slammed they get with both dine in and takeout orders, it's because they sell out FAST, because they're GOOD. Catch them during their opening hours (all BBQ gets put out at 11:15) and you'll have a better chance of having the full selection. This place is a gem, I've been wanting to gatekeep for a while now but more people outside of the East Asian community need to know about this spot in Oakville!

We were immediately seated and given menus. The menus were so torn and tattered it felt gross handling them. We ordered both of the beef brisket noodle soups, spicy and non. The soup broth tasted like lightly flavored water- yucky. Big fails. On a positive note, my daughters loved the baked Bolognese spaghetti with cheese. Tasted very similar to Chef Boyardee.

Having been to Tasty Kitchen multiple times, I think my favourite dish is their hot casserole bowls. I've tried the Chicken & Chestnut bowl and the Curry bowl and both tasted great. For roughly $8,50 each, you get complimentary rice on the side, a bowl of traditional Chinese soup, and a beverage of your choice (have to pay extra if you want it to be cold). It is well worth the price and I had to pack some of it because the portion was pretty generous for a lunch. The menu also has other types of dishes available, such as noodles, fried rice, and stand-alone dishes for large groups and for dinner. I think they are known for their hot pot chicken made with free-run chicken, which is cooked on the stove top at your table. The service was quite lacking, however. During my experience at lunch, it was very difficult to flag down a server, because there were 3 people there running the restaurant and they were always on the go busy serving the other customers. It was definitely easier to get their attention if you speak Cantonese.

I feel some restaurants tend to use pork that is not fresh for this dish to save a few bucks, particularly, because they thought the tomato sauce could cover up that taste. I decided to give it a shot at Cha Kee because I just really wanted to have it today, and damn, I've got to say I was extremely impressed by the baked pork chop on rice here. It was perhaps one of the best I've ever tasted in recent years, after visiting countless HK tea restaurants. The tomato sauce itself is perfect - sour and sweet in the best way possible. The pork chop? Excellent. Not only is it super fresh (unlike how it is sometimes served in other Hk tea restaurants), but the texture, the cut and the flavours are all perfect. The uniquely juicy thick cut was nicely coated in panko and cooked to crispy perfection. Every bite is a satisfying, pleasant surprise. While it is not the cheapest in town, it comes with a free drink (and the ice drink is the same price!) I will definitely come back often.

Their signature baked pork chop rice has a brimming amount of meat atop plain egg fried rice. It's a nice blend of crispiness & umami in each bite, although the tomato cheese sauce can be on the watery side. The other all-day meals we've tried include vermicelli with scrambled egg & toast, and tomato beef vermicelli. HK drinks are included in the meal (milk, coffee or lemon tea). Good affordable option for a quick bite.

We ended up getting the ham macaroni soup with a cheese ham sandwich combo, along with the O Street signature beef sandwich and fries from their new menu. Despite how busy it was on a Saturday, the food came out at a pretty reasonable speed, which I appreciated. The macaroni soup was just okay, very much the kind of simple comfort food that fills you up, but nothing especially memorable. I was most excited for the signature beef sandwich, but it didn't fully meet my expectations. The burger/sandwich itself was smaller than I imagined, and it only had about 2-3 pieces of beef brisket inside with marinated bell peppers and their homemade sauce. The sauce leaned sweeter than expected, which might work for some people, but personally I was hoping for something more savoury and more generous with the beef. However, the brisket was tender, which was a win... ish. Overall, still a decent spot if you're craving classic HK cafe vibes and variety, especially for a casual meal with family.
