Yet the food is authentic and spicy. Portion size was definitely enough. Both dishes hit the spot. We got a non spicy chicken dish with vege that my kid gobbled up. I for a braised beef dish with wonderfully spicy flavor - i got the spicy just below "chengdu" which was pleasant. It was like 75% fully occupied at 1:30pm all with Asian clientele, a good sign. We stopped by during a recent trip out west after a friend highly recommended the restaurant,…read moresaying it was the "best Chinese food in town" and a must-try. While the food was good, it did not quite live up to the hype. We ordered the roast duck, eggplant pot, and beef noodle soup. The roast duck was cooked ok, the eggplant pot was comforting, but sauce and flavor were not rich enough, but kids love the beef noodle dish. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but none of the dishes stood out as particularly memorable or unique. Service was pleasant, and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere, but based on our experience, it was good rather than exceptional.

It was a good curry, but nothing differentiated it from any other good Thai curry I've had. The authentic Thai interior provided a good dining environment. The service was great! Our waitress was very sweet, and our food came out in record time; probably about 5-7 minutes. Verdict: I would totally come back here to try their other stuff. I've read good things about their breakfast!

We gave 4.5 stars on the Szechuan dishes because they were flavorful and generous portions and 3.5 stars on the wontons soups since the dough in wonton was thick and undercooked. Because it was lunch we were seated right away. You order via a tablet on the table and menu consists of all the expected ie. GamJaTang, bibimbaps, stews and rice dishes. Portions were generous and flavours were okay. The GamJaTang was not spicy at all despite being rated 2.5 chilis on the menu. We got 4 side dishes and were asked if we wanted a refill which was nice. Interior is nice. Lots of booths on one side and long family style wooden tables at the back. Good for large groups for drinking. 2 TV's were playing K-Pop on the wall. I can see this being a popular place for the Western crowd. Good selection of soju's. Wasn't terrible. We would definitely consider another visit when back in the area.

Unfortunately, this visit to this location didn't live up to our expectations. We both ordered vermicelli dishes which arrived promptly after we ordered. They looked pretty on par with the vermicelli at the other Ben Thanh locations. We both had shrimp on a sugarcane and honestly it just tasted strange. This is something I order at least 3 times a month and have done for many years, so I know how it's supposed to taste. First of all, it was about 80% sugarcane and 20% shrimp, but it was very dry and hard. The flavour was very earthy and not at all shrimp-like. The meatballs were fine and the spring rolls tasted good although they were very oily. The grilled pork was also tasty but very dry and overcooked. We were both extremely surprised that there were no bean sprouts, no mint and no chopped peanuts. The decor was in need of an upgrade. The stairs down to the washroom and the whole downstairs was very dirty. The floor in the ladies' room was sticky. The vermicelli dishes were more than $10 each, which is very expensive compared to the many other Vietnamese restaurants we frequent regularly. And the food honestly wasn't nearly as good. Based on this visit, we won't be returning to Ben Thanh's London location.

The only really downside is the fact that the servers take a pretty long time to get to you and they rarely check back to see if you need anything else. With that being said, I come here at least once a week. I can't help it, I fall weak at even the whisper of Pho or a Vermicelli bowl, and they do a pretty great job at making it too. What I personally didn't like though was the Pad Thai. I may be alone on this one though, because I've seen several people order it here and no one seems to have a problem with it. I like my Pad Thai less sweet. That's ok though, I really love the Vietnamese food here.

No, I'm not talking about the dumplings at So Inviting, I'm talking about the lady who works here! I love dumplings so I knew when I was in the area, I had to check this place out. The name itself, and just the fact that they sell these amazing pockets of goodness (by weight) had me running for their doorstep. Yamei Min popped her head out from behind the counter to give me the 411 on how everything worked. I don't think I've ever met someone SO NICE. Every time I've visited, she always greets me with a huge smile and hello. She's even gave a little discount when I waited a while she was in the back. But honestly, I'll wait forever for her! Yes, the dumplings are good. They also serve noodles, soup, and other baked goods. She also sells the dumplings frozen for you to take home. They get a bit so-so near the end of the day, but hey, she only charged us 50% for those so I can't really complain. I loved putting a few drops of malt vinegar on them and dipping them in soy. So Inviting is SO inviting and I implore you to PLEASE visit them and give it a try. It's SO worth it! ^_^

There are approximately 5 - dumplings, potstickers, rice, noodles and soup. The dumplings and potstickers offer variations on their fillings (pork, beef, chicken, veg). But like many places with a succinct menu, they do what they offer well. Clearly homemade dough. I preferred the dumplings (steamed...small) to the potstickers (fried...large), and the soup over the noodles but all were good. The three sauces offered weren't soy based and varied in spice level from mild to a bit of a kick. Good value for money. I received 2 soups, noodles, 10 potstickers and 18 dumplings for $40. When I arrived the owner added another 10 potstickers and 10 dumplings to my bag for free as they were about to close. I froze the extras because they are very filling! Definitely give this place a try.
